"Ming'er, are you blaming me?" Xu Lingqing looked at Xuan Yuanming with tears in her eyes and a pitiful expression. Her thin body swayed as she reached out to grab his sleeve, but Xuan Yuanming rudely shook her off.
Xu Lingqing stumbled and almost lost her balance, but Xuan Yuanche caught her quickly. He turned and glared at Xuan Yuanming: "Ming'er, that's enough!"
For Xuan Yuanche's sake, Xuan Yuanming didn't continue to refute.
He pursed his lips, turned and went into the house, leaving only his back view.
Xuan Yuanche helped the person stand steadily before letting go of his hand: "That's just Ming'er's personality, don't take it to heart."
Xu Lingqing forced a smile: "It's alright."
She didn't dare to utter a word about Linghu's advice. She had already suffered a loss once with Xuanyuan Ming. If she offended Xuanyuan Che again, what hope did she have?
She's just a vixen; she can tolerate that.
“The Eighth Prince is a man of unwavering integrity, don’t let him down.” Xuan Yuanche put one hand on his lower back and took a few steps back: “Go back and live a good life with the Eighth Prince. Dongying will still be your support, and Bei Chu will not dare to do anything to you easily.”
Xu Lingqing suddenly raised her head: "Your Majesty, what does this mean?"
Xuan Yuanche cleared his throat: "From today onwards, you should come to the mansion less often. If you encounter any difficulties, just send someone to visit you."
After finishing speaking, Xuan Yuanche instructed the maid behind him, "What are you still standing there for? Help the Eighth Princess back."
Xu Lingqing was greatly shocked. In just a few days, who exactly brainwashed the two brothers?
"Brother..."
No matter how much Xu Lingqing called out, Xuan Yuanche had already left.
The north wind howled, its chill hitting her face, but it couldn't compare to the coldness in her heart. Her maid supported her and whispered, "Your Highness, let's go back."
The street was bustling with people, and many were staring at them. The maid wished she could disappear into the ground.
Once inside the carriage, Xu Lingqing pondered what exactly went wrong.
The end of the year is just around the corner
Every household hung up red lanterns and pasted up festive couplets, and Yikun Palace was no exception. Song Yue got up early.
There were many unopened letters on the table.
They opened the letters one by one.
His brow was furrowed.
Yun Dong glanced at the time; it was almost noon. His master had been engrossed in reading letters all morning and hadn't even looked up once.
She felt a pang of sympathy for her and brought her a cup of ginseng soup, saying, "Your Highness, please rest."
Upon hearing the sound, Song Yue looked up, her brows furrowed. She took the ginseng soup, drank two sips, and then put it down, rubbing her temples.
The Northern Chu and Southern Frontier have been fighting for nearly three months, with both sides winning and losing. The supply of provisions has been temporarily secured, but what is surprising is that the son-in-law of Liang Ying's family has disappeared without a trace.
The Duke of Shen went with his son-in-law, but they suddenly disappeared. They searched the surrounding area thoroughly but couldn't find them.
"Song Yue!"
Liang Ying from next door rushed over, her eyes blazing with anger: "The Prince Consort is missing! Shouldn't you give us an explanation?"
Song Yue looked up at the newcomer, a mocking smile playing on her lips: "It is a serious crime for the Prince Consort to disappear halfway through transporting grain."
"Nonsense! How could he run away halfway?" Liang Ying glared angrily.
Song Yue stood up, her gaze level with Liang Ying's: "I will order the entire Liang family, spanning three generations, to be summoned to the capital until the whereabouts of the Imperial Son-in-Law are found. I want to see him alive or dead."
Liang Ying's pupils contracted: "Are you trying to imprison me as a hostage?!"
Song Yue smiled noncommittally. This was the purpose from the moment Liang Ying was conferred the title of "Miss". Liang Ying was incredibly wealthy, how could such a person be released so easily?
The prince consort was even more ambitious.
"It's that bitch Aunt Wan!" Liang Ying gritted her teeth angrily. "She must have told you something, Song Yue, you're so despicable!"
Despite Liang Ying's angry rant, Song Yue had already sent word to the Crown Prince that he should issue an imperial decree to summon her immediately.
With three generations of the Liang family in her hands, she didn't believe the prince consort would dare to do anything outrageous.
"I am the Empress Dowager, you cannot hold me back!" Liang Ying got up to leave, but was stopped by two guards at the door. She angrily slapped them twice and shouted furiously, "Get out of my way!"
Nobody paid any attention.
"This pregnancy was hard-won, cherish it." Song Yue gave her a look, signaling the maid to help Liang Ying to the next room, and ordered someone to keep an eye on her and not let her run away.
"Song Yue!"
"From the day you entered the palace, I warned you that someone was trying to harm you, and I was saving you. We're in the same boat." Song Yue waved her hand, signaling someone to take her away.
After seeing Liang Ying off, Song Yue stood under the corridor gazing into the distance, her voice low and somber: "Any news about that Third Prince?"
The Third Prince, Xuanyuan Ye, also came along that day.
Xuan Yuanming and Xuan Yuanche came openly, while Xuan Yuanye came in disguise and even met once at the foot of Hanguang Temple.
Unlike his two brothers, Xuanyuan Ye was intelligent, a peerless poison doctor, and his reputation was not to be underestimated.
Amber shook her head.
"The person is missing?"
"No, the Third Prince has been guarding the foot of Hanguang Temple Mountain and has not left."
Song Yue frowned. It's been over a month and they still haven't left?
No, something's not right.
She had a hunch that the sudden disappearance of the prince consort was related to this low-profile third prince.
At that moment, a palace maid came to report, and Yun Dong relayed the information: "The Eighth Princess went to the mansion early this morning, but was humiliated by the Sixth Prince. The Second Prince also distanced himself from the matter, and the Eighth Princess didn't even get inside the gate."
At this point, Yun Dong couldn't help but laugh out loud.
Serves you right!
Song Yue raised an eyebrow: "That's far from enough!"
