Chapter 214 Unveiling the Truth

Late April evening

After having dinner, Song Yue took a slow walk on the cobblestones in the courtyard. She rubbed her temples, as if she had countless worries in her heart.

"Master, the person has arrived." Amber rushed over and pointed in the direction outside.

Song Yue's brow furrowed slightly: "Let's go!"

They've had Liang An, the imperial son-in-law, captive for several days now. No matter what methods they use—soft or hard, even torture—they haven't been able to get Liang An to talk.

If the fighting continues, people will be beaten to death.

Fortunately, Lady Wan was captured.

"Where is Third Master? Why can't I see him?" Madam Wan looked around anxiously, clutching her handkerchief.

The door creaked open.

Song Yue stared at Madam Wan with a half-smile. In just one glance, Madam Wan looked as if she'd seen a ghost, her face turning deathly pale: "You..."

He stammered for a long time but couldn't utter a complete sentence.

Madam Wan retreated in alarm, turned around to leave, but found that her back was already blocked. Madam Wan gritted her teeth and curtsied to Song Yue: "This humble servant greets Your Highness the Crown Princess."

"Wan, I cannot accept such a grand gift from you." Song Yue sneered, "If I hadn't been investigating the consort, I would still not know that the frail woman who collapsed in front of my carriage was actually a noble lady from Japan."

Upon hearing this, Madam Wan hurriedly denied it: "Your Highness, Your Highness, have you misunderstood something? I don't understand what you're saying."

"I hate deception the most, especially since you took advantage of my little bit of kindness!" Song Yue gritted her teeth, furious that she had been deceived by Madam Wan. Not only that, she also personally sent someone to send Madam Wan away and gave her a thousand taels of silver to keep her safe.

Song Yue felt like slapping herself.

idiot!

"Someone come here!" Song Yue raised her chin and ordered someone to pull Madam Wan to a side courtyard so that the couple could meet.

The dying Liang An was immediately agitated when he saw Madam Wan: "You, you, what are you doing here?"

Madam Wan looked at her husband, who was beaten half to death, rushed over to examine him, and kept reaching out to touch him: "Third Master, Third Master, how are you?"

Liang An shook his head, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth as he spoke. He raised his eyes and glared fiercely at Song Yue: "Song Yue! Why drag innocent women into this? If you have the guts, target me alone!"

Song Yue scoffed: "Stop arguing with me. I almost caused a disaster because I neglected you. Now that I've come all this way to find you, I won't let this go easily."

Liang An grinned.

"What does the Crown Princess want?" Madam Wan stood in front of Liang An. "There are many things we have no choice but to do. We can guarantee that we will never do anything to betray Northern Chu again. Please forgive us, Crown Princess."

"Husband and wife?" Song Yue looked at Madam Wan with disdain: "You are nothing but a concubine who cannot be seen in public."

Madam Wan blushed with humiliation and retorted, "I am Third Master's wife, not a concubine!"

"Did he marry me in a grand wedding procession?" Song Yue pressed.

Madam Wan's eyes widened, her delicate body swaying precariously. For a moment, she couldn't find any words to refute her, and she bit her lip tightly, remaining silent.

"No matter what his status is, Liang Ying is the one he married in a proper ceremony, with eight sedan chairs carried by him and a formal wedding ceremony!" Although Song Yue disliked Liang Ying's arrogance and pettiness, she hated the hypocritical and pretentious Madam Wan even more.

"Enough! This isn't Wan'er's fault, you..."

"Crack!" Song Yue raised the whip in her hand and struck Liang An hard.

The skin was torn open, and blood flowed freely.

Lady Wan exclaimed in surprise and took out a handkerchief to cover her wound.

Liang An grunted.

“Liang Ying is pregnant with your son!” Song Yue said.

Liang An looked up in surprise, then suddenly smiled: "She won't have my child."

His tone was confident.

Seeing this, Song Yue was even more furious. This heartless man deserved to be beaten to death: "The cold poison in her body has long been resolved. The five days you spent with Duke Shen back to the capital were enough for her to conceive your child."

Liang An frowned, suddenly remembering the day he was plied with alcohol by the Crown Prince at the victory banquet. His face darkened, while Madam Wan beside him wept bitterly: "Third Master, did you really have a child with her?"

Song Yue was completely baffled by these words.

Liang Ying had already given birth, and both of her daughters were already married.

Could it be...

"Wan'er, I was made drunk, it wasn't my intention," Liang An hurriedly explained.

However, Lady Wan was so immersed in grief that her tears flowed like a broken string of pearls, and she couldn't stop.

"Wan'er, you are the only one in my heart. I have never touched her all these years. If I hadn't been drunk, I would never have touched a single hair on her in this life."

Lady Wan raised her head sadly, her eyes red and wet with tears. Liang An felt a pang of heartache and wished he could hold her in his arms and cherish her dearly.

Song Yue was shocked.

Instead of being moved by this scene, he felt a surge of anger rising within him. He gripped the whip handle tightly, waiting for the two to finish their sweet nothings.

After making vows of eternal love, Madam Wan shyly buried her face in Liang An's arms and sobbed softly, "Third Master, I forgive you this time."

"Wan'er, I will never let you down."

Perhaps it touched the wound, because Liang An gasped in pain. Madam Wan quickly moved away and asked with concern how he was.

Liang An looked up at Song Yue: "Let Wan'er go back, and promise not to hurt her, and I'll cooperate with you."

"You think you're worthy to negotiate with me?" Song Yue sneered, her eyes filled with disgust. With a glance, Amber stepped forward and grabbed Lady Wan's wrist, firmly locking the thick iron chain around her wrist. No matter how much she struggled, it was to no avail.
