Song Yue raised an eyebrow: "Where are the hundred human skins that were peeled off their faces?"
Upon hearing this, General Shen was stunned.
He thought Song Yue was going to personally interrogate those hundred people in an attempt to find the second prince, but he didn't expect her to be looking for...
Human skin.
"Bring them here, strip them of their clothes, and find another hundred people to wear these clothes and masks. I have a use for them."
"What should we do with these assassins?"
"Keep it for now."
General Shen realized that he understood Song Yue less and less, and could not guess what she was thinking at all. He hesitated for a moment before agreeing.
For the next period of time, groups of assassins would occasionally cause trouble in Japan.
This has caused chaos and unrest on the border with Japan.
Xuan Yuan Chen was furious, and then the Marquis of Zhenbei's mansion came to add fuel to the fire. The Marquis of Zhenbei himself came to Biancheng on the border, breathing heavily, and asked Jiang Shan directly, "My son has been missing for almost a month. Shouldn't the Fourth Prince give an explanation?"
Liang An, the third son of the Marquis of Zhenbei, whose original name was Yuan Xu.
The Marquis of Zhenbei questioned him with a stern face.
Xuan Yuan Chen patiently reassured him, "Did the Third Young Master infiltrate Northern Chu?"
“Absolutely not!” Marquis Zhenbei refused outright: “Xu’er will never set foot in Northern Chu in his life. His mission has been completed. Now, Xu’er is my only legitimate son. If anything goes wrong with him, I will not live either.”
When Yuan Xu was sent away, the Marquis of Zhenbei was extremely unhappy. However, he could not resist the coercion and enticement of the late Emperor of Dongying and had no choice but to compromise. The late Emperor promised that Yuan Xu would return safely.
The person is now missing, and we can't get in touch with them at all.
While dealing with the Marquis of Zhenbei, Xuanyuan Chen was also busy dealing with the epidemic in Biancheng. He was extremely busy and exhausted.
Suddenly, a flash of cold light appeared.
Suddenly, the Marquis of Zhenbei pulled out a dagger and stabbed at Xuanyuan Chen.
Xuan Yuan Chen's expression changed slightly. He dodged with lightning speed but was still stabbed in the arm. The wound was very deep and blood was flowing non-stop.
"Guards! There's an assassin!" Xuan Yuan Chen shouted.
Suddenly, dozens of guards appeared behind the Marquis of Zhenbei and began to assassinate Xuanyuan Chen. The battle broke out, and Xuanyuan Chen fled all the way, being stabbed several times.
At the critical moment, the deputy general arrived with a large number of soldiers.
"Retreat!" The Marquis of Zhenbei gave the order and turned to flee.
Xuanyuan Chen stared at the bloodstains on his wound, his jaw clenched, and he forced out a single word through gritted teeth: "Chase!"
"yes."
One hour later
Dozens of people lay dead in the woods outside the city, including the Marquis of Zhenbei, who had been killed by an arrow through the heart.
When Xuanyuan Chen arrived, there were no survivors.
Enraged, Xuan Yuan Chen cursed, "Why didn't you leave a single survivor?"
"Your Highness, when I arrived, everyone was already dead," the lieutenant explained, forcing a smile.
A moment later, a guard picked up a face skin from the ground and handed it to Xuan Yuan Chen. He took it and glanced at it, his expression changed slightly. He gave his deputy a wink, and the deputy immediately led his men to search the faces of the crowd. Sure enough, they peeled off quite a few faces.
Looking at the dozen or so faces, Xuan Yuan Chen was so excited that he collapsed behind the guards.
When news of the Fourth Prince's stabbing reached Northern Chu, General Shen finally understood Song Yue's scheme, and he secretly admired her from the bottom of his heart.
Song Yue summoned General Shen: "I will be leaving tonight, so I'll leave this place in your care."
"Are you leaving already?" General Shen was worried about the danger, but then he thought that she must have her reasons for doing so, so he stopped trying to stop her.
In the middle of the night
Song Yue left the border in a carriage. The journey was smooth and unimpeded. Yun Dong hugged her bundle tightly and sighed that she was finally going back to the capital.
Amber's expression changed slightly: "This servant has a feeling that something is following me."
One sentence nearly scared Yun Dong out of her wits. She opened her mouth wide and stared at Amber in fear and unease: "You, you're not trying to scare me. I'm easily frightened."
The carriage stopped.
The sky was already turning white.
After thinking for a moment, Song Yue lifted the curtain and stepped out, raising her voice to the person behind her: "The Second Prince has come all the way here too, why don't we meet and have a proper talk?"
The branches swayed slightly, startling a few sparrows on the branches, which flew over the bushes and chirped.
The next moment, the black figure leaped down, wearing a silver mask, followed by dozens of similarly dressed people.
"Second Prince, we each get what we need, why kill each other?"
The man in the silver mask chuckled.
Before she could speak, Song Yue took out a portrait from her bosom and unfolded it in front of the man. The man in the portrait was handsome, with vermilion tinges at the ends of his eyebrows. His phoenix eyes were slightly raised, adding a touch of allure, and his brown pupils flashed with a hint of darkness.
Upon seeing the portrait, the man's expression changed slightly.
"Second Prince, this is Northern Chu territory. Either sit down and have a chat, or I will make this portrait widely known and offer a reward of ten thousand gold pieces." Song Yue stared at the Second Prince with a half-smile.
The second prince pursed his thin lips and said in a low voice, "It is said that the Crown Princess is arrogant and domineering, and a good-for-nothing. In my opinion, the Crown Princess is clearly intelligent and unmatched."
"You flatter me, Second Prince."
Song Yue stepped down from the carriage and raised her hand to make the imperial guards take two steps back: "Second Prince, my sincerity is greater than enough."
Seeing this, the second prince had no choice but to point to the stream not far away and said, "Please."
He lifted his foot and walked towards the stream.
Song Yue followed closely behind. After walking a few steps, the Second Prince suddenly turned around, a sinister glint in his eyes. He rushed towards Song Yue at lightning speed, a dagger that had appeared in his hand at some point. Its cold light flashed, and a murderous aura suddenly appeared.
Song Yue stood there motionless, the dagger against her neck, the icy touch sending a shiver down her spine.
