The Southern Emperor stood outside the palace, a broad smile on his face, one hand clasped behind his back, quietly awaiting news.
"Your Majesty, if His Highness finds out, I'm afraid there will be a huge uproar," the eunuch said, his voice trembling.
Tonight is supposed to be the wedding night of the Seventh Prince and Princess Jiahua. To summon them directly to the palace and drug them would surely cause a huge uproar if the Seventh Prince found out.
The Emperor of Southern Xinjiang disagreed: "It was she who shamelessly seduced me, it has nothing to do with me. As for the seventh prince, I will choose a good girl from a respectable family to be his princess consort."
"Can……"
"The princess from Northern Chu was originally given to me for a marriage alliance. What's wrong with me enjoying my own woman?" The Emperor of Southern Xinjiang raised an eyebrow, a look of eager anticipation on his face.
"Moreover, I have already shown forgiveness by not blaming her for instigating the seventh prince," said the Emperor of Southern Xinjiang.
The eunuch's body was trembling violently.
Two hours ago, the Southern Emperor clearly didn't say that. He said that Consort Mei was alone and that she and Princess Jia Hua were about the same age, so they would definitely get along well.
It was just a casual chat.
How could someone have died?
Even the calming incense in the hall was replaced with aphrodisiac powder.
I really can't imagine how furious the Seventh Prince will be when he returns.
Just then, the eunuch suddenly felt a chill down his spine.
Bang!
A loud bang.
The guard was kicked in and fell heavily in front of the Southern Frontier Emperor, vomiting blood.
The Southern Emperor was startled and, following the gaze, his expression changed drastically.
It turned out to be the seventh prince who had returned.
"Seventh brother?"
The seventh prince, clad in silver armor and wielding a long sword, stepped into the courtyard with a murderous aura lurking beneath his gloomy face.
Even the Emperor of Southern Xinjiang was stunned by the Seventh Prince's appearance. His legs trembled, and he stammered, "Why are you back?"
"Father, why did you summon my wife to the palace late at night?" the Seventh Prince asked angrily.
The Southern Emperor quickly regained his senses and said unhappily, "Consort Mei was homesick, so I invited the Seventh Prince's wife to the palace to keep her company. I didn't expect the Seventh Prince's wife to be so vicious that she actually killed my Consort Mei. Seventh Prince, you have such poor judgment!"
The Seventh Prince's anger surged, and before leaving the city, he wanted to ask Princess Jia Hua for a promise: if one day he could stay in the Southern Frontier.
So he ordered the main force to continue onward, and turned back. When he arrived at the Seventh Prince's residence, he found it empty. The Seventh Prince was furious and chased after him into the palace.
The seventh prince stared intently at the Southern Emperor: "Father, aren't so many women enough?"
The other man's eyes seemed to see right through him. The Southern Emperor was furious and embarrassed: "What kind of talk is this? Do you think I would lie to you? Seventh Prince, you entered the palace without being summoned, which is a serious crime. You used to be obedient and never disobeyed me. It was because of this woman that you took a risky approach and deliberately lost the battle, just to get the military power in my hands. I granted your request out of consideration for our father-son relationship, but you are still stubborn and dare to return to the capital without being summoned. You have really disappointed me."
Hearing the Southern Border Emperor's sophistry, the Seventh Prince could not suppress the anger in his heart.
His gaze lingered on the crowd.
Where is Jia Hua?
"Seventh Prince!" The Emperor of Southern Xinjiang stepped forward, trying to stop the Seventh Prince.
The seventh prince placed his hand on the sword hilt, startling the Southern Frontier Emperor into retreating repeatedly. At this moment, he had no doubt whatsoever.
The seventh prince really dared to draw his sword.
The seventh prince stepped into the room.
He spotted Princess Jia Hua lying on the ground at a glance, and his heart nearly stopped. He strode forward and picked her up, asking, "Jia Hua?"
After calling out several times without response, the Seventh Prince became anxious and summoned his personal guard. The guard, who was skilled in medicine, immediately covered his mouth and nose upon entering: "It's aphrodisiac!"
The Seventh Prince's lips twitched, and his eyes grew even darker.
The guard took Princess Jia Hua's pulse and said in a low voice, "The Seventh Prince's Consort fainted because she was poisoned by the aphrodisiac, but she has no other injuries."
"Hmm!" The Seventh Prince looked down and saw the five bright handprints on her fair cheek. His rationality collapsed instantly, and he stood up abruptly, carrying her out.
The Southern Emperor's expression flickered.
"Someone come here!"
"Your subordinate is here."
The Seventh Prince raised his chin: "Seal off Xuanhe Palace and forbid anyone from entering."
"Seventh Brother, what are you doing?" The Southern Border Emperor panicked.
The Seventh Prince paused, glanced at the sky turning white, and said, "Inform all civil and military officials that the morning court session will be held at Xuanhe Palace today."
"yes."
The Southern Emperor flew into a rage: "Seventh Prince, do you even have any respect for your father? For the sake of a woman, you are disloyal and unfilial, committing a heinous crime."
Ignoring the Southern Border Emperor, the Seventh Prince carried Princess Jia Hua away.
The guard behind him said, "If you want relief, there is a hot spring in Qing'an Palace that can help, but it will be quite painful."
"lead the way!"
The Seventh Prince placed Princess Jia Hua into the icy hot spring, then found two palace maids to help her up before turning and leaving.
The sky grew brighter
The palace also became lively.
The civil and military officials were completely baffled. Why would the morning court be held at Xuanhe Palace?
"What trick is the Emperor playing now?"
"Who knows? Perhaps it was the idea of this Enchanting Consort."
Everyone shook their heads, each with a disappointed expression.
The gates of Xuanhe Palace were opened, and the Southern Emperor stood in the center of the courtyard. The civil and military officials looked at the row of soldiers in black armor in the courtyard with some surprise.
"Why do these people look so familiar?"
"Yes...he's a confidant of the Seventh Prince!"
The moment the words "Seventh Prince" were uttered, everyone was even more puzzled. Hadn't the Seventh Prince already set off to fight the enemy yesterday?
Could it be...
Everyone's eyelids twitched, and they bowed, saying, "Your humble servants greet Your Majesty."
