Prime Minister Yan stared blankly at his calm daughter, his fingers clenching: "Gamble? You want me to gamble the lives of hundreds of people in the Yan family against the Seventh Prince's patience?"
He was furious, pointing at the woman on the bed: "She's so clever, she's taken all our cards into account. If it weren't for her, the Seventh Prince might not have succeeded!"
"It's just luck; Father is too kind." Empress Yan frowned, her face showing impatience.
In her opinion, everything Princess Jiahua did was just a fluke, pure luck, and not due to her own abilities at all.
Prime Minister Yan was heartbroken. His own daughter showed no joy or sorrow at the sight of her brother's tragic death, but became angry simply because he praised Princess Jiahua a few times.
It is clear that in Empress Yan's heart, the lives of these people were not as valuable as her own.
Empress Yan continued, "Father, things have come to this point, and we have no other choice. We cannot write a letter in person, so I will have to do it for you."
Prime Minister Yan's throat was dry. The man was dead, so what could be done?
Seeing that Empress Yan had personally written a letter, she picked up a dagger to cut off Princess Jia Hua's finger, but was stopped by Prime Minister Yan: "Your Majesty, if you want to test your patience, then don't provoke the Seventh Prince."
He reached out and pulled a hairpin from Princess Jiahua's temple, then took a jade ring from his finger and placed it inside the letter.
That's enough.
Empress Yan's eyes showed disdain.
Prime Minister Yan quickly sent someone to deliver the letter, his heart pounding with anxiety.
At this moment, Princess Jiahua on the bed had already passed away. Suddenly, she floated in mid-air, looking at her illusory figure in disbelief. With a wave of her hand, she could pass through all objects.
What's going on?
"That vile woman, it's such a pity she died." Empress Yan stood in front of the bed, squinting her eyes, wishing she could tear her to pieces.
The person who had caused her so much resentment and ruined her reputation was dead before she could even take action, which made Empress Yan even more furious.
Even torture is no longer an option.
“Your Majesty, as far as I know, Princess Jiahua and the Seventh Prince have never consummated their marriage. The Seventh Prince only took care of Princess Jiahua because he saved her life.” Prime Minister Yan sighed, “Such a person is infertile and behaves himself. Why did we have to provoke her in the first place?”
Empress Yan's gaze remained fixed on Princess Jiahua's pale face: "If she had been favored by the Emperor when she first entered the palace, I might have spared her life. Even if she had taken the position of the Seventh Prince's consort, I wouldn't have cared."
She understands the Seventh Prince.
He would never touch a woman who had been touched by the Southern Border Emperor.
Just like Consort Yu back then.
"Who let her escape this calamity!" Empress Yan's voice trembled: "Back then, A-Yin personally came to me, begging me to protect her. Father, do you know how much my heart ached!"
From that moment on, Empress Yan silently vowed to make Princess Jia Hua pay a terrible price.
Empress Yan slowly sat down, a cold smile curling at the corner of her lips: "It took me two years and a lot of money to find out the details of the Song State Duke's Mansion in Northern Chu. Those two little bastards, Song Hengchuan and Song Yue, have never had a good day. Especially that Song Yue, who was sent to the estate when she was only three months old and was given my specially made medicine for the mentally challenged. She will be mentally challenged for the rest of her life."
Princess Jia Hua's expression changed, her face filled with astonishment.
Prime Minister Yan was dumbfounded: "What is Your Majesty saying?"
Empress Yan turned her head and looked at Prime Minister Yan with a calm expression: "I bribed Concubine Yuan, who serves Song Kaifeng, and gave her poison. I also coerced and bribed Song Kaifeng, telling him that Zhao Jiahua is favored by a man in the southern border and wants to go back for revenge at any time. Song Kaifeng is a man, how can he tolerate this?"
"Ah!" Princess Jia Hua cried out in despair, but found that she could not utter anything. She could only watch helplessly as Empress Yan continued to speak with a smug smile on her face.
"I originally intended to tell her these things, but I didn't expect her life to be so short; she died before she could hear them," Empress Yan said regretfully.
"I truly intend to send her back to Northern Chu so that she can witness firsthand the death of one of her two children and the injury of the other."
Princess Jiahua lunged forward, wishing she could bite Empress Yan to death.
His entire body passed right through Empress Yan, yet he was completely helpless against her.
Prime Minister Yan's eyes darkened: "This matter has far-reaching implications. If the Seventh Prince finds out... he will definitely pursue the matter."
"I grew up with him as childhood sweethearts. His Majesty has long wanted to strip him of his military power. It was I who pleaded for him time and time again and encouraged him to go to the battlefield. If it weren't for me, how could he have achieved what he has today?" Empress Yan was both angry and furious, her dignified and elegant face twisted in anger. "Not only is he not grateful to me, but he has nothing but this vile woman on his mind."
Empress Yan was still not satisfied and slapped the person on the bed across the face.
Princess Jiahua felt no pain at all; only a burning sensation in her heart. She hated this person to the core.
"Zhao Jiahua, I know not only that you have no feelings for A Yin, but I also know that you yearn to return to Northern Chu. But how could I let you succeed so easily? I have written letters for you to the Fourth and Fifth Princes of Northern Chu."
"That Fifth Prince is utterly foolish. He pays me enormous sums of money every year to protect you, and look at you, with your crippled body, still managing to seduce the Fifth Prince."
Princess Jia Hua's vision went completely black, and her mind was buzzing.
Just then, a young eunuch's voice came from outside the door: "Your Majesty, the Seventh Prince has sent someone to deliver another letter."
Upon hearing this, Prime Minister Yan quickly looked at the newcomer. This time, seeing that the newcomer was not carrying anything, he breathed a sigh of relief.
Empress Yan took the letter, glanced at it, and smiled. She then handed the letter to Prime Minister Yan, who was standing beside her, saying, "Father, take a look."
