Chapter 272 The Madman

"Please, Your Highness, save my life."

"Your Highness, please have mercy."

Countless people kowtowed to the Seventh Prince.

The Southern Emperor revealed a smug smile, gently turning the hilt of his sword, which nearly made the hostage official scream in terror.

The atmosphere was tense, and the tension was palpable.

"A-Yin".

Empress Yan stumbled after him, her breathing rapid, yet she maintained her usual gentle smile.

After regaining her balance, she took a deep breath to calm herself down and walked step by step toward the Seventh Prince, lowering her voice: "Don't be impulsive, calm down and talk about it slowly."

The Southern Emperor narrowed his eyes and looked at Empress Yan.

When Empress Yan had her back to the Seventh Prince, she also made a gesture towards the Emperor of Southern Xinjiang.

No one could see through their coordinated attack.

Only Princess Jia Hua was forced to stand in the shadows, watching how this farce would end.

"Seventh Prince, don't test my patience!" the Southern Border Emperor said in a deep, displeased voice.

All I could hear were the cries of the people begging for mercy.

The Seventh Prince's eyes flickered, and he looked up at the time.

At this moment, a group of soldiers in silver armor poured in from all directions. Each of them held a long sword, ready to strike, and exuded a strong aura of killing intent.

In an instant, the entire palace was surrounded.

The one leading them was General Zuo.

The Left General knelt on the ground and kowtowed to the Seventh Prince: "Your Highness, assassins have entered the palace. This humble general has been ordered to investigate the assassins. Please give your orders."

General Zuo arrived earlier than she had expected, just as scheduled.

"Insolence!" The Southern Emperor panicked, his face turning red. "Where did these assassins come from? You are clearly staging a coup, a crime punishable by the extermination of nine generations of your family. Put down your swords and surrender immediately."

General Zuo slightly raised his eyelids, a hint of murderous intent emanating from them.

Perhaps stunned by the other party, the Southern Emperor awkwardly shut his mouth, unconsciously tightening his grip on his sword. The minister cried out in agony, "Your Majesty, spare my life!"

The Southern Emperor then came to his senses and loosened his grip.

Seeing this, General Zuo sneered, his gaze still fixed on the Seventh Prince.

"A-Yin, quick, quickly tell General Zuo to lead his troops to retreat. Do you really want to bear the crime of rebellion?" Empress Yan reached out and tugged at the Seventh Prince's sleeve, her tone anxious: "You can't abandon these officials and the people."

The Seventh Prince's lips slowly curved into a smile, and he raised his gaze to look at the Southern Border Emperor: "Then we'll see whether Father's hands are faster or General Zuo's arrows are faster."

Upon hearing this, General Zuo stood up without saying a word, quickly drew his bow and aimed an arrow at the Southern Emperor's chest. The Southern Emperor was so frightened that he shouted for protection and reached out to block two guards in front of him.

“A-Yin…”

The Seventh Prince glanced around at the officials and said, “You are all witnesses today. The tyrant’s cruelty and inhumanity were not my intention to rebel; I was forced into it.”

Many officials were already excited: "Your Highness, we are willing to follow you to the death!"

"Your Highness, I am willing to follow you!"

Upon hearing this, the Southern Emperor was even more enraged. He angrily raised his sword and stabbed at the person who had just spoken without any hesitation.

Whoosh!

An arrow streaked through the air.

It pierced directly through the Southern Emperor's wrist.

With a clang, the sword fell to the ground.

The Southern Emperor clutched his hand, his face deathly pale with pain, his eyes fixed on General Zuo: "You, you dare to hurt me!"

"This humble general's archery skills are poor, Your Majesty, please be careful and do not move rashly, otherwise, you never know which arrow might hit your head!"

"you!"

The Southern Frontier Emperor was furious and wished he could tear the Left General to pieces.

General Zuo had been tempered on the battlefield for many years and had seen all kinds of methods. He was not afraid of the Southern Frontier Emperor's threat at all. In fact, his fierce aura was enough to overwhelm the Southern Frontier Emperor's fierce aura.

This, on the contrary, made the Southern Frontier Emperor more wary.

General Zuo spread his hand behind him, and the guards immediately presented him with three arrows. General Zuo nocked the arrows and aimed them again in the direction of the Southern Frontier Emperor.

Enraged, the Southern Emperor dared not move again, and could only turn his head to look at the Seventh Prince: "These are your subordinates, defying their superiors and threatening me in public. Seventh Prince, you are truly something else!"

The Seventh Prince narrowed his eyes, but there was no anger between his brows.

"Gentlemen, this tyrant treats human life like dirt, sparing not even innocent civilians. Why can't we support a new emperor?" General Zuo's voice was already rough, and his deafening roar drowned out the Southern Frontier Emperor's anger. He then addressed the officials, "We fight desperately to protect our homes and country, yet this man has shown no regard for our lives. Is such a person worthy of respect?"

"Stop spreading these heresies!" The Emperor of Southern Xinjiang was so angry that he jumped up and down: "Seventh brother, seventh brother, as long as you kill this traitor, I can forgive your recklessness today."

General Zuo lowered his brows and his gaze fell on the Seventh Prince.

“A-Yin, don’t provoke the Emperor. He is not only your father but also the ruler of the Southern Frontier. There are some things that need to be discussed… cough cough…” Empress Yan covered her chest and lowered her voice: “Just think of it as being for Jia Hua’s sake.”

The name "Jiahua" made the Seventh Prince frown again.

Princess Jia Hua, who was watching the spectacle, glanced at Empress Yan. Even at this point, she was still unwilling to give up and deceive the Seventh Prince.

His tongue is so eloquent and smooth-talking that no one can match him.

"Ah Yin, Jia Hua is still waiting for you to save her," Empress Yan said.

The Seventh Prince's lips curled up, his eyes fixed intently on Empress Yan, his gaze gradually sharpening, a hint of mockery mixed with rage.

"Ah... Ah Yin." Empress Yan's heart skipped a beat from his gaze, and her frail body swayed as if about to collapse. The Seventh Prince retorted, "Even at a time like this, you're still trying to lie to me?"

Empress Yan's face flushed red as she looked at him with disbelief.
