Chapter 72 The Emperor Has Arrived

Princess Jia Hua slowly turned around and sat down in the chair.

Everyone else stood, but she sat down alone, arrogantly looking down on everyone else, and said with a half-smile, "If Princess Qing doesn't believe me, feel free to try!"

The group was detained at the Duke of Jingguo's mansion, where a row of Imperial Guards stood in the courtyard.

If Princess Jia Hua gave the order, the group would have no chance to fight back.

Princess Qing suddenly regretted coming to the Duke of Jing's mansion. She looked nervously at Prince Qing, who pursed his lips and turned pale.

The Prince of Zhennan, who was standing to the side, suddenly smiled and said, "It's really not something to make a big deal out of the play between two children. Princess Qing is just doing this because she loves her daughter dearly. Jia Hua, please don't get angry."

As he spoke, the Prince of Zhennan winked at the Princess of Zhennan, signaling her to say something conciliatory. The Princess of Zhennan was extremely unwilling, but she had no choice but to compromise in the face of the situation: "Yes, today the Princess Consort of Qing only wanted to scare the Third Miss. She would never actually lay a hand on her."

Princess Jia Hua ignored it.

Seeing Princess Jia Hua's expression, no one stepped forward to plead for her.

“If you make a big fuss, those censors won’t let it go easily. Why bother?” the Prince of Zhennan said with a smile.

"A fight to the death benefits no one," Princess Zhennan advised.

Princess Jia Hua remained silent, instead slowly sipping her tea. Eventually, the Prince of Zhennan's expression darkened, and he could no longer maintain his composure.

Just then, news came from outside that the Emperor had arrived.

Everyone felt as if they had seen a savior.

A crescent-white figure flashed into view, followed by a handsome and unparalleled face with a subtle smile.

As soon as the Emperor of Northern Chu appeared, everyone knelt down to pay their respects.

"Greetings to His Majesty."

No one expected that this matter would alarm the palace, and even the Emperor of Northern Chu would come.

"Your Majesty!" Prince Qing's voice trembled as he knelt on the ground, "I beg you to grant me a quick death."

"I beg Your Majesty to make the decision," Princess Qing cried out.

But the Northern Chu Emperor's gaze fell on Princess Jia Hua inside. Seeing her kneel down, the Northern Chu Emperor strode forward, bent down and personally helped her up, saying gently, "Cousin, didn't I say that you don't need to bow to me in the future?"

Princess Jiahua, having abandoned her previous domineering demeanor, now wore a look of grievance, with tears glistening in her eyes. Upon seeing this, the Emperor of Northern Chu panicked: "Cousin, tell me what happened. I will stand up for you."

Upon hearing this, the people kneeling behind him were stunned.

"Your Majesty!" Prince Qing was furious.

Princess Jia Hua waved to Song Yue in the crowd, and Song Yue immediately understood her mother's meaning. Without saying a word, tears streamed down her face as she looked pitifully at the Emperor of Northern Chu.

“I only have one daughter. She has suffered for so many years, and just when she was finally able to enjoy a few days of happiness, she was beaten in the street and disfigured. And that’s not all. Princess Qing and Princess Zhennan led troops and forced their way into the Duke of Jing’s mansion, which terrified the child.” Princess Jia Hua’s voice was low and could not hide her anger: “If anything happens to A Yue, how can I live?”

When the Emperor of Northern Chu saw that Song Yue's face was pale, he comforted her with a few words and took a bottle of Honey Snow Cream from Eunuch Li: "It would be bad if a young lady were to be disfigured. I will definitely find the best doctor to heal your face."

Song Yue nodded.

Regardless of her past or present life, the Emperor of Northern Chu had nothing but praise for her.

When the Honey Snow Cream was taken out, Princess Qing was so angry she almost vomited blood. Such a valuable item was given to Song Yue.

"Your Majesty!" Prince Qing called out for the third time.

The Emperor of Northern Chu then realized that a group of people were still kneeling at the door. He frowned and said, "Why is Prince Qing still kneeling? Get up."

"Your Majesty, Jia Hua has repeatedly spoken rudely, insulted me, and assaulted the Princess. I beg Your Majesty to make the decision." Prince Qing knelt upright, as if to say, "I will not get up unless Your Majesty makes the decision."

The Emperor of Northern Chu looked troubled.

“Your Majesty, I am still an elder, and Princess Jia Hua has no respect for anyone. You cannot tolerate this,” Princess Qing said angrily.

Princess Jiahua showed no sign of panic. She said to the Emperor of Northern Chu, "I admit that it was wrong of me to hit someone, but there were reasons for it. I can apologize to Princess Qing."

"Cousin?" The Emperor of Northern Chu shook his head.

His cousin had suffered for him for thirteen years, and he would never let her suffer any injustice. The Emperor of Northern Chu looked at Princess Qing with displeasure and was about to speak when Princess Jia Hua changed the subject and continued, "Your Majesty, it is a fact that Princess Qing is lawless. She is only acting because Prince Qing controls the Jingda Camp. Longqing openly committed violence in the street, which must be due to Prince Qing's power. According to the law, the crimes of Prince Qing and his wife should be severely punished."

Princess Qing's eyes widened, a sudden unease welling up inside her, and she nervously swallowed.

“My cousin is right.” The Northern Chu Emperor glanced at Prince Qing: “Prince Qing, from this moment on, hand over the power of the Jingda Camp. Also, the number of soldiers in Prince Qing’s mansion shall not exceed one thousand, and all the rest shall be transferred to the military camp.”

"Your Majesty!" Prince Qing was stunned. His power, which he had painstakingly built up over decades, had been confiscated so easily.

“The capital city is under the emperor’s nose, how can we allow others to act so presumptuously?” Princess Jiahua continued, “The Princess Consort of Zhennan should also be severely punished for her instigation.”

Princess Zhennan's eyelids twitched.

"Effective immediately, the title of Imperial Lady of Zhennan is hereby revoked for the Princess Consort. Furthermore, the Zhennan Prince's residence will be fined for two years' salary," said the Emperor of Northern Chu.

Princess Jiahua looked at the ashen faces of Prince Zhennan and his wife, and still felt displeased. These two deserved to die!

"Cousin, is there anything else you want to say?" the Northern Chu Emperor asked eagerly.

Princess Jiahua pondered for a moment and said, "If you hand over your military power, you will be released immediately. If you do not hand it over, you will be detained at the Duke of Jingguo's residence. How about that?"

"I'll listen to my cousin."

The Emperor of Northern Chu nodded repeatedly, without uttering a single word of rebuttal, still looking as if he feared Princess Jia Hua might not be satisfied.

Until Princess Jia Hua nodded in satisfaction.

Next, we wait for news.

The Emperor of Northern Chu sent people to the Zhennan Prince's Mansion and the Qing Prince's Mansion, where they immediately revoked the Qing Prince's military power and detained all the soldiers he brought to the Jingda Camp.

"Your Majesty!" Prince Qing clutched his chest, his body swaying precariously. "You're going to break my heart! You might as well just give me a quick death!"
