Chapter 73 The Princess's Might

"Your Highness, something has happened! You must go to the front and take a look!" A maidservant rushed in from outside the door to report.

Princess Longqing frowned and rushed outside without saying a word. She saw her mother being carried back, and Prince Qing, pale-faced, being supported by others.

"Father, Mother!" she rushed forward anxiously, "What on earth is going on?"

Prince Qing took a deep breath and remained silent.

Princess Zhennan pulled Princess Longqing over, and before she could even speak, the decree stripping Princess Longqing of her title was issued.

Princess Longqing swayed abruptly: "Why does the Emperor want to depose me?"

"Enough!" Prince Qing snapped, glaring at Longqing. "From this moment on, you are no longer a county princess. Stop causing me trouble!"

Princess Longqing, now known as Zhao Qingyan, turned pale from the shouting and pouted, almost bursting into tears. The Princess of Zhennan stopped her behind her and, taking advantage of Prince Qing's momentary lapse in attention, quickly recounted the whole story in a low voice.

"Your Majesty, His Majesty personally went to the Duke of Jingguo's mansion to support Song Yue?" Zhao Qingyan was stunned. And how dare Princess Jiahua go on a killing spree?

When Zhao Qingyan looked up, she met Prince Qing's sinister expression. Her lips trembled, and she knew she had gotten herself into trouble. She shrank back.

Just then, Princess Qing woke up.

"Mother!" Zhao Qingyan threw herself into Princess Qing's arms and burst into tears.

Princess Qing tenderly embraced Zhao Qingyan, offering a few words of comfort before coaxing her to return to the Qing Prince's residence. Zhao Qingyan sniffed and reluctantly left.

After the people left, Prince Qing and his wife exchanged a glance with Prince Zhennan and his wife.

"Go to the study," said the Prince of Zhennan.

Prince Qing nodded.

Before leaving, the Princess of Zhennan called out to Pei Zhao: "Zhao'er, come too."

Pei Zhao then followed.

The atmosphere in the large study was somber, and no one spoke. Pei Zhao looked up at the elders, but several times he tried to speak, only to be stopped by the Princess of Zhennan's gaze.

Finally, Prince Qing broke the silence: "How exactly did Jia Hua return?"

The Prince of Zhennan shook his head: "I have already sent people to the southern border to gather information. Her return was indeed sudden. I guess the Emperor must have put in a lot of effort behind the scenes."

“Back then, very few people knew about Jia Hua’s marriage to a foreign ruler. If the truth were to be revealed, how would the world view Jia Hua? The Duke of Jing’s mansion would have no place for her!” said Princess Qing.

A woman sent to a foreign land for a political marriage spent thirteen years there, enduring countless humiliations.

Princess Zhennan, who hadn't spoken for a long time, suddenly said, "Today you all saw Jia Hua's temper. She's shameless and doesn't care about rumors at all. Also, look at the Emperor's attitude towards Jia Hua. If the Emperor finds out who is plotting against Jia Hua behind the scenes, I'm afraid he won't let it go easily."
