Watching Song Yue's retreating figure, Song Hengchuan stared in horror at the dagger that had just drawn blood. He roared in fury:
"Song Yue!"
The old lady became anxious and quickly sent someone to fetch a doctor: "Don't worry, she might just be trying to scare you."
The doctor arrived quickly and confirmed that the dagger was indeed coated with medicine, and that it was extremely dangerous; if it was not removed in time, it could lead to infertility.
As a man, how could Song Hengchuan accept that he was unable to have children?
Enraged, he rushed out to confront Song Yue: "I'm going to kill her!"
The old lady quickly stopped him and comforted him, saying, "Brother Chuan, calm down. That girl is surrounded by Imperial Guards right now; you can't get close to her at all."
"Grandmother, are we just going to let her do whatever she wants?" Song Hengchuan asked indignantly, his expression changing slightly as a sharp pain shot through his body.
This pain feels familiar.
He was puzzled.
How could someone have been poisoned again in such a short time, when they had just experienced a previous attack?
Without thinking twice, Song Hengchuan collapsed to the ground, wailing in pain.
The old lady was terrified: "Quickly, quickly invite the Third Miss here."
The maidservant said with a bitter face, "Madam, the Third Miss has gone out."
"You insolent fool! Why are you out at this hour? Go after him!" the old lady scolded.
Song Hengchuan was in pain for more than an hour, wishing he could bang his head against the ground again and again, until his forehead was bleeding. The old lady was afraid that he would damage his brain, so she quickly ordered someone to hold Song Hengchuan down.
The news alarmed the Duke of Jingguo, who rushed over. Seeing Song Hengchuan's state and learning the whole story, he instantly decided to kill him.
Where is this wretched person?
"Is the Duke of Jingguo looking for me?"
Song Yue stepped across the threshold with a smile, automatically accepting the title of "bastard." She bent down and sat on the chair, holding a steaming hot bun wrapped in oil paper in her hands. She took a big bite, and found it sweet, delicious, soft, and chewy, leaving a lingering fragrance on her lips and teeth.
She blinked and stared innocently at the Duke of Jing: "Your Excellency is truly ruthless. You know the antidote is in the Prince of Qing's mansion. If you just asked, the Prince of Qing would definitely give you the antidote. How could you bear to let your own son suffer so much?"
She emphasized the words "my own son".
Duke Jingguo's pupils contracted: "What nonsense are you spouting!"
Song Yue, with a bun in her mouth, shrugged and continued to watch the show with amusement: "It's no use coming to me. The medicine I gave Song Hengchuan only accelerated the outbreak of the poison in his body. It killed some people, but whether the original poison in his body would kill people, I don't know."
"You!" Duke Jingguo was almost driven mad by Song Yue. He raised his hand and saw the Imperial Guards standing in a row outside the door.
Duke Jingguo had no choice but to lower his hand: "Aren't you afraid your mother will find out if you do this?"
Song Yue let out a burp: "Of course I know. I know that the Duke of Jingguo stayed in Yuehua Pavilion for three hours today. I'm a person who always holds grudges. Anyone who offends Mother will be repaid tenfold, or we'll all die together."
"Either we stay quiet and live in peace."
She picked up another bun, put it in her mouth, and winked at the group with an innocent-looking face: "If anything happens to my mother and me one day, don't blame me for not warning you. I've hired a secret guard team that will hunt you down at all costs until you're all dead!"
Duke Jingguo was absolutely furious with Song Yue; she was such a scoundrel!
Just as the old lady was about to speak, Song Yue swallowed her bun and said, "The entire Fan family is also on the kill list."
The old lady's face suddenly darkened.
After eating and drinking her fill, Song Yue stood up and rubbed her stomach. "As the saying goes, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Since the Duke of Jingguo has repeatedly provoked me, I have no choice but to go to the Prince of Qing's residence in person, or go to the palace to pay my respects. Someone should bear the brunt of Mother's anger."
Duke Jingguo suddenly laughed: "Go ahead."
Song Yue raised an eyebrow, glanced at the Duke of Jingguo, her eyes deep and then she smiled. Without saying a word, she stepped into the palace. Yun Dong tried to stop her from behind: "Miss, do you really want to go to the palace?"
"nature!"
She entered the palace and met the Emperor of Northern Chu. She could clearly feel the change in the Emperor lately; he had restrained his fierceness and was much more cheerful.
"Ah Yue, what brings you here?" The Northern Chu Emperor looked at her with a doting expression.
Song Yue obediently took the Northern Chu Emperor's hand, her fingertips casually brushing against his pulse. Only after confirming that he was alright did she breathe a sigh of relief, much like a junior pleading with an elder: "I have something I wish to ask of Your Majesty."
The Emperor of Northern Chu raised an eyebrow.
Song Yue lowered her voice: "I would like to request His Majesty to issue an edict to summon the entire Fan family to the capital for resettlement."
"The Fan family?"
Song Yue whispered a few words in the ear of the Northern Chu Emperor, whose eyes lit up: "Really?"
"When have I ever lied to the Emperor?"
Without a word, the Emperor of Northern Chu immediately drafted an edict, affixed the imperial seal, and handed it to Eunuch Li. Song Yue promptly added, "It must be done according to the list in the Fan family genealogy; not a single person can be missing."
"Don't worry, young lady, this old servant will take care of it."
She chatted with the Emperor of Northern Chu for a while, and he taught her two games of chess. She discovered that Song Yue's chess skills were actually very similar to his own.
"My mother taught me," Song Yue said without batting an eye.
Even though the Emperor of Northern Chu had lost, he was still pleased with himself. His smile deepened, and he suddenly asked in a low voice, "Do you have a house you like? How about I bestow upon you a princess's residence?"
Song Yue stroked her chin, thinking seriously: "I'm not very familiar with the capital yet. How about I take a stroll around the streets in the next few days before giving you a reply?"
"And what about your mother..."
"It was my request to move out of the Duke of Jingguo's mansion and get a new environment," Song Yue replied without hesitation.
The Emperor of Northern Chu smiled broadly.
After leaving the palace, the Emperor of Northern Chu gave her many gifts, which Song Yue gladly accepted. By the time she saw Princess Jia Hua, it was already evening.
"Why are you back so late?" Princess Jiahua asked worriedly.
Song Yue didn't hide anything: "I went to Ninghui Hall, taught Song Hengchuan a lesson, and then went to the palace."
It was no secret that she and Song Hengchuan had a strained relationship. Princess Jiahua didn't even ask for the reason; she just saw that she wasn't injured and pulled her to have a meal.
Princess Jia Hua was clearly in a bad mood.
Song Yue hadn't figured out whether Song Hengchuan was actually Fan's biological son, so she didn't dare to speak to Princess Jia Hua rashly.
After the meal, Song Yue chatted with Princess Jia Hua.
Only after coaxing the other person to laugh did I finally feel relieved.
There was a constant commotion outside the door.
Song Yue frowned and ordered everyone outside to be sent away.
Princess Jia Hua had no interest in dealing with the outside world, and seeing that things had quieted down, she stopped talking.
A peaceful night
The next day, the Duke of Jingguo was in an uproar.
Upon hearing the imperial edict, the Dowager Lady became restless: "Is His Majesty summoning the entire Fan family to the capital?"
Married women and unmarried women, not one can be left out.
If even one member is missing, the head of the Fan family will be punished for disobeying imperial orders.
Isn't this a blatant attempt to wipe out the entire Fan family?
“Madam, the imperial decree was requested by the Third Young Lady herself,” said the maid Fu Hong.
The old lady's heart sank, and she had a bad feeling: "Quickly, go and invite the Third Miss here. Tell her I have something important to discuss with her."
