Chapter 116 Chen Danian and Zhao Juan are getting married

Despite falling back into poverty, Gan Li was overjoyed. The next day, when she took the meat to the Gan family again, it was from the supermarket.

The dishes made with this meat by Old Man Gan indeed lost their faint porky smell, and the Gan family members quickly noticed the difference and found it strange.

Old Man Gan didn't know why either.

Ganli said quietly, "Father, I noticed you marinated the meat for a little longer today. Could it be because of this?"

Old Man Gan slapped his forehead, suddenly realizing, "It must be it!"

Seeing that she had managed to smooth things over, Gan Li breathed a silent sigh of relief.

Old Man Gan, as expected of a chef with decades of experience, does indeed have some talent when it comes to cooking. In just a few days, he learned the dishes that Gan Li taught him, and he cooks quickly and well.

He was already quite eager to prepare and was looking forward to the day when his restaurant would open and he could finally show off his skills.

Just then, Gan Mingyi also brought back news that the restaurant was more than halfway finished with renovations, and asked Gan Li to take a look when she had time so that she could make any necessary changes.

Upon hearing this, Gan Li followed the group to town the next day. Gan Mingli and others set up a stall under the big tree, while Gan Li went to the shop with Gan Mingyi.

Before even stepping into the shop, Ganli was already amazed by the changes. Once inside, she was even more pleasantly surprised.

The shop, which used to look dusty and drab, has been completely transformed. The walls have been polished and waxed, giving off a subtle sheen, and the newly made tables and chairs make it look clean and bright.

The cashier counter was also newly built, and behind it against the wall was a row of tall grid cabinets, which could be decorated later, making it both practical and impressive.

The work outside has been finished, and the craftsmen are now focusing on repairing the kitchen. When Ganli went in, Zhang the mudman came over to greet her.

"How was it, Manager Gan? Are you satisfied with the work we did?"

"Satisfied, very satisfied. I said the other day that you two brothers seem like honest people, and I was right. The work you've done is both fast and good." Gan Li praised them profusely.

After leaving the kitchen, Gan Li asked Gan Mingyi to go to her stall, count the number of workers from earlier, and bring over a few popsicles.

Zhang the mud maker was already flattered by her praise, and now that they had even brought him popsicles, he couldn't help but admire how capable Gan Li was.

Outside, Gan Mingyi was also eagerly seeking praise.

"How was it, little sister? Not bad, right?"

"Second Brother, the person you found has absolutely superb skills. I can't even imagine what a mess this place used to be!" Gan Li praised without reservation.

The house originally looked old and worn out. She really didn't expect that the craftsmen Gan Mingyi found were so skilled that they could transform it like magic in such a short time.

"That's right, don't you even know who your second brother is!" Gan Mingyi was flattered by the praise, but his tone revealed undisguised pride.

Gan Li was amused by his appearance, then looked around and suddenly remembered something important: "Second Brother, it seems like our shop is missing something?"

Gan Mingyi scratched his head: "What? Aren't the tables, chairs, and benches all there?"

"Signboard! Our shop doesn't have a signboard yet!"

In fact, let alone hanging up, I didn't even think about doing it.

"Oh dear, what a lapse in memory! I was so focused on what was going on inside that I completely forgot about this!"

Gan Mingyi slapped his forehead: "Luckily, there's still time. We can have Zhang the mudman pass on a message and tell them to make one as soon as possible!"

How can you open a restaurant without a signboard?

They went back to the kitchen, called over Zhang the mud maker, and told him about making the signboard. Zhang the mud maker readily agreed.

"Tell me what style you want, and I'll tell Carpenter Wang when I get back, and he'll make it for you."

Ganli told them to just make one based on the signs of those restaurants. As for the name…

After a moment of contemplation, the phrase "food is the first necessity of the people" flashed through Gan Li's mind, and she immediately had an idea.

Let's call it 'Food is Heaven'!

"What a great name, so impressive!" Zhang the mud maker exclaimed. "I've got it in mind. Don't worry, I'll deliver it to you before the project is finished."

Ganli was relieved.

She wandered around the shop again. The work in the front was already finished, and since she had nothing to do at the moment, she decided to tidy up with Gan Mingyi.

Before I knew it, it was dusk. Counting the time, Gan Tian would be getting out of school soon.

Gan Li thought she would pick up Gan Tian from school and give her a surprise. So after the craftsmen finished work and went home, she locked the door of the restaurant and hurriedly drove to the school with Gan Mingyi.

Upon arriving at the academy gate, students emerged in twos and threes.

Ganli spotted Gantian in the crowd at a glance and waved happily, "Sweetie!"

Gan Tian looked up at the sound and saw her mother and second uncle, her heart filled with joy. But then, remembering what she had heard earlier that day, her spirits sank...

She walked towards the two of them, her eyes darting around, her small face full of confusion, as if she wanted to say something but couldn't.

Having spent so much time with her, Ganli was already familiar with her personality and quickly noticed that she seemed a little off today.

She frowned: "Sweetie, what's wrong? Did someone bully you? Was it Chen Yaozu?"

Gan Li asked worriedly, and when she saw that Gan Tian's expression was even more strange after hearing the name Chen Yaozu, she immediately rolled up her sleeves and prepared to go find someone to settle the score.

Seeing this, Gan Tian quickly grabbed her and stammered, "Mother... no, no one bullied me..."

"What's wrong?" Ganli asked, even more worried when she saw her hesitant manner. "What is it? Is there anything you can't tell your mother?"
