Before dawn, Ganli got out of bed.
She was preparing ingredients for the new dish last night and didn't get to bed until very late, but she had a nice nap in her online space and was feeling quite refreshed. Seeing that Gan Tian was still sleeping soundly, she tiptoed to the kitchen.
The weather was too hot, and Ganli was worried that the prepared ingredients would spoil if left overnight, so she would always quietly put the ingredients into her space after everyone left.
She originally thought that the space had air conditioning, which would help keep the ingredients as fresh as possible. But after a few times, she discovered that the space seemed to have a preservation function as well, and the things she put in were always as fresh as when they were first cooked.
This made things convenient for her, as she didn't have to worry about the food's taste changing even if she left it overnight.
Before the others arrived, she quickly took the ingredients out of her spatial storage and put them back in their original places.
Just as they were getting ready, the elderly couple from the Gan family, along with their sons Gan Mingli and Gan Mingyi, came over from their old house. Old Mrs. Gan was carrying a small basket filled with food.
To save time these days, she has been making breakfast from the old courtyard and bringing it over. Zhao Shi is fine with this, but Sun Shi has quite a few complaints and made a few sarcastic remarks, both openly and subtly.
Gan Mingyi grew impatient and said, "Little sister is doing this for us to make money. If you keep nagging, I'll smash you to death with this hammer!"
He was very loud and boastful, but in reality, even though Sun had been married into the family for many years, he had never laid a finger on her. So the matter ended with two fingernail marks on Gan Mingyi's face.
Grandma Gan naturally wouldn't tell her daughter about such upsetting things. She just urged her daughter and niece to eat quickly, as they still had a lot to do today!
Over there, Old Man Gan and his two sons loaded the oxcart onto the cart, and then began to move all the goods for their stall that day onto it, arranging them neatly.
When Gan Qishan arrived in his oxcart, he saw that they had already loaded the goods and scratched his head somewhat embarrassedly.
"I'm late." Gan Li bought an oxcart but still rented his. In Gan Qishan's eyes, this was also a favor to his business. Since the other party was kind to him, he wanted to help out as much as possible.
I was planning to come earlier to help move things, but I didn't expect that they had already finished and I was only just arriving.
Ganli noticed his embarrassment and laughed, "It's not that you're late. It's because we're launching a new product today, so it's a little earlier than usual."
Gan Qishan finally breathed a sigh of relief.
The Gan family's oxcart was fully loaded with goods and driven by Gan Mingli, while Gan Qishan's oxcart was empty and ready to carry passengers.
This time, Gan Mingyi was finally able to get on the bus, but even so, there was still a lot of empty space. Seeing this, Gan Li suggested that the Gan family elders also go to the dock together.
“We just launched new products today and we also have to sell popsicles. I’m afraid I won’t be able to handle it all. You two can come along and help out,” Gan Li explained.
“Go, go, of course I’ll go!” Grandma Gan agreed without even thinking.
Old Gan quickly turned around and locked the door, afraid of wasting even a little time.
So the Gan family split into two oxcarts and headed to the dock in a grand procession.
Although they set off earlier than the previous two days, when they arrived at the pier, they found that the area under the big tree was already crowded with people.
Most of them had heard that 'Gan Kee Popsicles' was launching a new product today and had come early to queue up. Upon seeing the Gan family members, the crowd immediately erupted in excitement, urging each other on.
"Manager Gan, you've finally arrived! If you'd come any later, we would have melted in this sun!"
"That's right, Manager Gan, hurry up and let us try your new product!" the others chimed in.
This was the first time that Mr. and Mrs. Gan had come to set up a stall. They were quite surprised to see so many people waiting to eat their food.
However, the others were used to it. As soon as the car stopped, Gan Li quickly told her family to unload the goods. While she was setting up her stall, she smiled and said to everyone:
"Sorry to keep you waiting, but today's new products are guaranteed to satisfy you!"
As she spoke, Gan Li took a newly written sign from the car and placed it next to the stall. The sign that originally read "Gan Ji Popsicles" had now changed to "Gan Ji Dessert Stall".
"Sweet soup? What's sweet soup?"
Upon seeing the words on the sign, the group was somewhat puzzled.
"It can't just be sugar water with added sugar, right? Is this some kind of new product? Then we can drink it at home!"
Seeing the guests' expressions of disdain, Ganli quickly explained, "What this gentleman said is correct, this syrup is indeed sweet... but syrup doesn't just refer to water with added sugar, it's a general term for desserts that are refreshing in the summer."
Hearing this, the crowd was still somewhat confused, but they also realized that the sweet soup was not quite the same as what they had imagined.
Seeing this, Gan Qishan quickly said, "Everyone, don't be impatient. You'll know once you eat it."
Upon hearing this, many people in the crowd echoed her sentiments. Gan Li glanced gratefully at Gan Qishan, then quickly opened the lids of several wooden basins in front of her, revealing the ingredients inside.
Upon closer inspection, everyone saw a dazzling array of ingredients, along with a large bowl of rich, white soup. The soup was vibrant and refreshing, a feast for the eyes.
"Today's new product is called Immortal Taro Balls!" Gan Li explained with a smile, her eyes crinkling.
As she spoke, she scooped up a spoonful of the soft, sweet taro chunks and placed them into the celadon bowl in her hand.
Taroes are at their peak ripeness now, plump and with a sweet aroma even before you take a bite.
Next, she scooped a few spoonfuls of purple and yellow taro balls from the wooden basin and added them to the bowl. These were taro balls that she had specially made with fresh fruits and vegetables and flour. Each one was plump and cute.
