Extra Extra 3

Ganji started out as just a small eatery in the tiny town of Cangxi.

However, thanks to Gan Li's efforts, over the years, this restaurant has spread to every prefecture in the Greater Beijing area.

The capital city was no exception.

I heard that at first Gan Li only sent people to manage things in the capital, but since the Gan family settled in the capital, Gan Li has been personally going there to inspect the business every now and then.

This was no secret, so Chen Danian found out about it with almost no effort.

He and Chen Yaozu lay low in Beijing, waiting for Gan Li to visit Gan Ji so that he could bring his son Chen Yaozu to "recognize his relatives".

Soon, that day arrived.

As the two stood at the entrance of Gan Ji's restaurant, Chen Danian didn't forget to instruct his son:

"Remember this: when you see Ganli later, you must not say anything arrogant. On the contrary, you must act pitiful, as pitiful as you can be!"

People are always more likely to sympathize with the weak, even if they were wrong in the past and have already suffered enough.

Moreover, it's not difficult to be generous with other people's money; it's just a matter of saying a few words, and the onlookers don't lose anything.

Under such pressure, Ganli had no choice but to reluctantly accept him.

The night before he arrived, Chen Danian had given him many instructions, and Chen Yaozu nodded vigorously to show that he remembered them.

Seeing this, Chen Danian finally felt relieved and led him inside.

As soon as the two stepped into Gan Kee, a waiter came up to them, and then... couldn't help but cover their noses.

When Chen Danian saw the waiter's actions, his old face instantly turned bright red.

Chen Yaozu was also somewhat unhappy.

The waiter wasn't trying to embarrass the two men on purpose. After all, Gan Kee had its own rules: once you entered the store, you were their customer, and they had to treat you with the same enthusiasm, regardless of whether you were rich or poor.

He had been working here for some time and had always adhered to the shop rules, but just now, when he got close, he was overwhelmed by the stench emanating from these two people, which caused him to lose his composure.

Fortunately, he quickly realized what was happening, hurriedly lowered his hand, and greeted the two with a warm smile, though the smile on his face was somewhat distorted...

Chen Danian chose a spot in the lobby where he could see the entrance with a simple glance and keep an eye on the situation.

As soon as they sat down, they didn't even look at the bill and ordered several large dishes.

Seeing this, the waiter thought to himself that appearances can be deceiving. These two people were dressed even poorer than him, yet they were quite generous.

The owner was indeed farsighted; the rules he established were not without reason.

The waiter left, filled with admiration for his employer.

As soon as the waiter left, Chen Yaozu anxiously said to Chen Danian, "Dad, you ordered so many dishes, where are we going to get the money to pay them later?"

With only that little money for the journey, they barely made it to the capital. The silver they had left over from the past few days wasn't even enough for a hotel. They could only buy six steamed buns and stayed in a dilapidated temple outside the city for two days, barely managing to survive until today.

But Chen Danian ordered such a huge table of food as soon as he came in... Where will he get the money to pay the bill?

Chen Yaozu frowned.

But Chen Danian remained completely unfazed: "What are you afraid of? Have you forgotten who owns this shop? It's your own mother! As her son, you're eating a meal at her place. Do you think she'd kill you?"

yes!

Hearing this, Chen Yaozu relaxed and even crossed his legs, acting like a big shot.

Before long, the waiter brought out all the dishes they had ordered.

Chen Danian and Chen Yaozu were starving, so they didn't care about table manners and started wolfing down their food with their chopsticks.

Upon closer examination, it turned out that since the Zhao family's downfall, the father and son had not eaten such delicious food for many years. Their attention was completely drawn to the food on the table, and they did not notice a beautiful figure entering the restaurant surrounded by a crowd.

Ganli followed the innkeeper up to a private room on the second floor. The restaurant's main hall was full of people, and she didn't notice the two people mixed in with them at all.

Meanwhile, downstairs, Chen Danian and his son were enjoying a long-awaited feeling of fullness.

Chen Yaozu patted his round belly, let out a satisfied burp, and a few grains of rice still clung to the corners of his greasy mouth.

He recalled the days when he ate dry steamed buns in the dilapidated temple, and looking at the leftovers in front of him, he became even more determined to reclaim Ganli.

Chen Danian was determined to enjoy a comfortable life with his son in the future.

They began to eagerly anticipate the arrival of the sweet pear.

However, the father and son sat there waiting for a long time, and the tea was refilled several times, but Ganli still did not appear.

Chen Yaozu began to fidget.

"Dad, why isn't Mom coming down yet? Is she deliberately avoiding us?"

Chen Danian was also a little flustered, but immediately denied his son's statement: "We came without anyone knowing, how could she know? Perhaps something delayed us, let's wait a little longer."

The waiter, who had been watching them closely, noticed that they didn't seem inclined to pay, and stepped forward to remind them:

"Did you two gentlemen enjoy your meal? Would you like anything else?"

Chen Danian was already irritated and waved his hand impatiently: "No, no!"

Seeing this, the waiter was displeased, but still smiled apologetically: "In that case, please settle your bill first and make room for us. There are many other customers waiting for a table outside."

Indeed, Gan Kee's business is good no matter where it is; not only is the interior always packed, but there are also long queues outside.

But what about paying the bill?

Chen Danian and his son exchanged a glance, their eyes darting around, stammering and unsure of what to do.
