Jess looked at the two of them, a hint of excitement in his eyes.
The aura emanating from these two individuals was the unique aura of August as a prophet.
The two girls were August's apprentices, and he believed that they were the product of that grand plan.
He truly didn't know how to express his inner emotions anymore.
A century has passed, and after wandering here for so long, he finally saw two people who were somewhat related to him.
"Who are you? Do you know August?" Jiu Li and Weina looked at August in surprise.
"Let me introduce myself. My name is Jess, and I am the Pope's missionary. For some reason, I have been left here forever."
Jess stepped forward, waved gently, and said, "And I am an old friend of your teacher, August."
“That’s impossible. August is not even forty years old. How could he have a friend like you who has been dead for more than a hundred years?” Both of them were completely baffled.
They looked at Jess, unable to connect the two of them at all.
“Oh, let me tell you slowly, my friends,” Jess quickly explained, “August is a prophet from the Pope.”
“He is not an individual, but a legacy. After the previous August died, he would pass on his memories and insights to the next generation.”
"Therefore, he is a prophet, possessing profound knowledge and unique insights into the world."
"Is that so?" Jiu Li turned to look at Weina, completely bewildered.
“That seems to be the case, because my impression of Augustus is that he is very knowledgeable and has a deep understanding of both ancient and modern times.” Vena nodded hesitantly.
"Trust Jess, what he said is true," Ye Xingchen said. "Now, if you have any questions, you can ask Jess."
“Okay, who are we? Where do we come from? And what about the divine power we inherited?” Vena turned her head and asked this series of questions.
“Your problem is a long story,” Jess sighed, his expression becoming complicated.
He recounted everything he knew in detail.
His relationship with Augustus, and what made Augustus unique.
The Pope's plan, and the purpose of implementing that Advent plan.
“That’s right. Augustus carries far too much on his shoulders,” Jess said. “The Plan of the Descendants is the plan he is going to implement, and it is also the plan that the Pope has asked generations to complete.”
"But why was he later regarded as a traitor by the Pope?" Jiu Li asked, puzzled.
Yes, Augustus was later regarded as a traitor.
He and Jiu Li were even relentlessly hunted down by the Pope. If the Pope was truly dedicated to creating this Descendant Project, then why would the Pope hunt him down?
“This brings us to Augustus’s character,” Jess said solemnly. “Augustus himself was no ordinary man.”
"And he has always carried the mission of a prophet on his shoulders."
"And when this descent plan began, he confided his doubts to me more than once."
"Does he have any doubts? He's a prophet, after all," Vena asked, puzzled. She had learned a lot during her time with Augustus.
In her view, Augustus was a prophet unlike any other.
But why would this prophet have doubts? His understanding of the world surpasses that of anyone else, so why would he have his own doubts?
“He’s questioning the plans of this descendant,” Jess said. “He says the gods don’t belong to this world, and if they come here, it will disrupt the balance of this world.”
"Moreover... are gods truly selfless? They need human faith as their strength, but at the same time, they also wield supreme power."
"If... they really have selfish motives, then their desires will be uncontrollable. In that case, if they came into this world, wouldn't it be a disaster for humanity?"
Jess's words gave Ye Xingchen a slight jolt.
Yes, August's remarks were utterly treasonous to the Pope.
His ideas were too advanced; the Pope hoped for the descent of the gods to consolidate his position.
But even gods have selfish desires, and when these desires become uncontrollable, it is a disaster for humanity.
August believed that to prevent this disaster from happening, the Arrival Plan had to be terminated.
"He... eventually started the plan anyway?" Ye Xingchen asked.
“Yes, he is a prophet, but also a servant of God. The Pope’s plans represent God’s instructions,” Jess said. “So there are some things he cannot stop.”
"I think this is inextricably linked to the fact that the Pope considers him a traitor."
"When he was halfway through the plan, he suddenly realized that God's instructions were wrong, and that the Descent Plan represented some kind of conspiracy?" Ye Xingchen seemed to understand: "So, what happened next?"
“Yes, given his personality, he will most likely be as you said.” Jess nodded slightly and said, “What makes August different is that he can foresee what will happen in the future and the direction of things that need to be done now.”
"If the Pope's people are deceiving him, and the Advent plan was a mistake from the beginning, then he will most likely find out."
"After discovering these mistakes, he would do everything he could to correct them, which is why the Pope considered him a traitor."
Another silence fell over the scene as Jiu Li and Weina slowly processed the information Jess had conveyed.
"Do you know where the Descent Plan was carried out?" Ye Xingchen asked.
“An island, a very secluded place,” Jess recalled. “This island was located in a place unknown to the world.”
"And the Pope also discovered some miracles here, and if nothing unexpected happens, the Advent plan will be carried out here."
"Do you know the exact location of that island?" Ye Xingchen asked.
“I know, but I’m not sure if the Pope’s plans have changed. If they have, then there might be nothing left on the island,” Jess said.
“Alright, after I’ve settled some matters within my territory, we’ll head to that island.” Ye Xingchen said, “Then, we’ll uncover all the secrets and find out the backgrounds of Weina and Shuli.”
