"Of course I'll keep my promise to Chen Zhengyi." Ye Xingchen smiled slightly: "I only promised to connect him, but whether it will be useful later is none of my concern."

She knelt before the Buddha statue, lit an incense stick, and silently chanted Buddhist scriptures while counting a string of prayer beads in her hand.
With her eyes slightly closed, she devoutly recited Buddhist scriptures, praying for herself and those around her.
Chen Zhengyi strode in and saw Bai Yingyun kneeling there chanting sutras and reciting Buddhist scriptures. He was furious.
"You still have the mood to chant sutras here? Do you know? Your son is ruined, he's already talking nonsense." Chen Zhengyi roared with red eyes, looking like a wild beast.
A father has a son to carry on his family line.
How could he not be furious that his son would no longer be considered a man?
Bai Yingyun slowly opened her eyes. She glanced at Chen Zhengyi, then continued counting the prayer beads in her hand.

Then he kicked out, overturning the Buddhist hall, scattering candle flames and incense ash all over the ground.
Bai Yingyun looked at her expressionlessly, her face remaining devoid of joy or sorrow.
Her behavior enraged Chen Zhengyi even more, and he suddenly grabbed the Buddhist beads in Bai Yingyun's hand and pointed at them forcefully.
With a crash, the prayer beads broke, scattering dozens of beads that rolled all over the ground.
“You will get your comeuppance. Now, it begins.” Bai Yingyun stared at Chen Zhengyi and smiled somewhat nervously.
"If you really want to die, I'll kill you right now." Chen Zhengyi's face was full of malice; his patience had reached its limit.
"Come on, come on." Bai Yingyun opened her arms, looking relieved.
Chen Zhengyi was furious. He grabbed Bai Yingyun by the neck and lifted her up with force.
Bai Yingyun let out a muffled groan as she felt her neck being tightly gripped, making it impossible for her to breathe.
Her legs were struggling desperately, and she was on the verge of suffocating.
However, there was no sign of pain on her face; instead, a relieved smile appeared on her face.
Chen Zhengyi suddenly realized what was happening. He let go of her, and Bai Yingyun collapsed to the ground with a thud. She clutched her chest and coughed violently.
"Why did you let go? If you had strangled me, I would have gone to see Ye Jinyu." Bai Yingyun's smile was somewhat morbid.
"You want to die and reunite with Ye Jinyu? Don't even think about it." Chen Zhengyi said sternly, "You are mine in life and in death."
"So, you feel proud of taking my body through despicable means, don't you?" Bai Yingyun said sharply, "For a whole month, you locked me in a dark and sunless cage, keeping me like a slave, just to destroy my will and make me submit to you, right?"
"Bai Yingyun, why bring up the past?" Chen Zhengyi's face showed a trace of fatigue: "I admit that I used some tricks to take you back then."
"But haven't I been good enough to you all these years? Haven't I been tolerant enough of you? Don't push your luck; my patience has its limits."
"You drugged me, ruined my innocence, locked me in a cage trying to break my will, and you call that petty tricks?" Bai Yingyun laughed, then said sternly, "When you released me under pressure, I found out I was pregnant."
She pointed at Chen Hao on the hospital bed and said sternly, "I shouldn't have been soft-hearted for this bastard. I should have taken him with me to die, two lives lost, so that your Chen family would be disgraced."
Chen Zhengyi stared at her, and he suddenly regretted letting go earlier. He should have hardened his heart and strangled this woman to death, and then he would have peace and quiet.
"What's all the noise about? Life is so tiring, you might as well all just die." Chen Roujin suddenly walked in.
When Chen Zhengyi saw her, he felt a sharp pain in his chest. Why was it Chen Hao, not her, lying on the bed?

*Thud*... Chen Roujin stumbled and nearly fell to the ground, a trickle of blood oozing from the corner of her mouth.
She licked the blood from the corner of her mouth and laughed somewhat neurotically: "If you hate me so much, why are you still keeping me? Wouldn't it be better to just kill me?"
Chen Zhengyi's anger suddenly had nowhere to go.
