"Brother Ye, you're here?" Meng Hu was overjoyed; he knew Ye Xingchen wouldn't stand idly by.
"You've already acknowledged me as your older brother, so I can't just abandon you as my little brother," Ye Xingchen said helplessly. "I told you before to discuss it with your father and think things through, but you wouldn't listen. If I hadn't come today, could you have kept going?"
“Brother Ye, the old man is getting on in years, and I don’t want to trouble him with these things,” Meng Hu said somewhat embarrassedly. “I was just planning to seize the opportunity to catch the two of them.”
"Ye Xingchen, it's you again?" Meng Changyou was both shocked and furious. If it weren't for Ye Xingchen, he would have already taken control of the situation.
"You, how are you still alive? Didn't Young Master Huang say you had been dealt with?" Meng Guo was even more shocked. He clearly remembered Huang Tai saying that Ye Xingchen had been dealt with, but why was this guy here again?
"Did Huang Tai tell you that he had taken care of me?" Ye Xingchen smiled slightly and said, "You actually believed what he said? You're really too naive."
"There are far too many people who want me dead, but there are very few who have the ability to take me down."
"Dad, this kid ruined our plans, kill him!" Meng Guo roared angrily at Ye Xingchen, then hissed, "Kill this kid, ten million... Go, all of you, go!"
Upon hearing that another valuable person had arrived, Meng Guo's underlings became even more energetic, grabbing their weapons and rushing towards Ye Xingchen.
With a flick of his finger, a white halo suddenly appeared. As Ye Xingchen's gesture reached, the halo spread out in all directions. With a hum and a lingering cry, the group of henchmen who ran the fastest and were at the forefront were thrown out.
In the distance, severed limbs and broken pieces were vaguely thrown around. After the white light faded, the ground was a mess, with a group of people lying on the ground writhing and howling in agony. The whole scene was chaotic.
"Go! All of you, go! Whoever can deal with this kid will be the biggest person in the Meng family after me!" Meng Changyou's eyes also reddened.
Things have come to this point, and there's no turning back now. We might as well go all the way and offer a hefty reward to eliminate these two obstacles in the way.
A group of people charged forward again, but in Ye Xingchen's eyes, their fighting ability was nothing short of a joke.
With a wave of his right hand, another wave of chaos ensued, with people and horses tumbling over...
Just as the scene was in utter chaos, an aged but dignified voice rang out: "Stop."
As the authoritative voice rang out, Elder Meng walked over, accompanied by several trusted confidants.
Old Master Meng was quite authoritative in Yun City and even in the entire Southwest.
Even though he was old and walked with a shaky gait, his shout of "Stop!" instantly calmed the crowd.
"Dad..." Meng Changyou, feeling guilty, suddenly started to feel uneasy.
As a son, the thing I fear most when I do something wrong is seeing my own father.
But now that his father was standing right in front of him, he immediately cowered.
"Get out." Old Meng glanced sideways at everyone in the room.
Meng Hu's men bowed and obediently walked out, while Meng Changyou's subordinates looked at each other, unsure whether to leave or stay.
"Didn't you hear me? I told you to get out, everyone!" Old Meng roared. "I may be old now, but I'm not dead yet. What, do my words no longer carry any weight?"
He raised his cloudy eyes and scanned his surroundings.
Although Old Meng was old and even had cloudy eyes, there was still a sense of pressure in his eyes. Everyone who met his gaze couldn't help but shiver, then dropped what they were holding and fled.
"Come back! All of you, come back here! Don't forget how my father treated you!" Meng Guo shouted from the side. "He's just an old man, why are you all so afraid of him?"
However, his voice grew softer and softer, because he realized that no matter how much he shouted or yelled, it was to no avail. Under his grandfather's oppressive presence, these people didn't dare to linger for even a moment longer.
Soon, everyone who was supposed to go out had already gone out, and now there were very few people standing inside.
Meng Guo kept his mouth tightly shut, not daring to say a word.
Meng Zou slowly walked forward. He stood in front of his grandson and, seeing Meng Guo's somewhat timid gaze, couldn't help but laugh: "I'm an old man, so you don't take me seriously, is that it?"
"I, I didn't..." Meng Guo stammered, unable to finish his sentence.
*Slap...* Old Master Meng slapped Meng Guo across the face without any hesitation: "Speak."
"No, Grandpa, I was wrong." Meng Guo was on the verge of tears. No one listened to them anymore, so he had no choice but to admit defeat.
"A piece of trash, just like your father, no brains." Old Meng snorted, "Get out of the way, don't get in my way."
"Yes, Grandpa." Meng Guo bowed and quickly ran to a corner, where he stood without saying a word.
"Mr. Ye, thank you for coming to help Meng Hu. Otherwise, he really wouldn't have been able to make it through the night." Old Meng smiled at Ye Xingchen.
"That's alright. Meng Hu has a fierce spirit, so even if I didn't come, I believe he could capture the father and son alive and send them to you." Ye Xingchen smiled slightly.
Old Meng looked at Meng Hu, nodded approvingly, and then said, "Why didn't you discuss this with me?"
“Grandpa, I’m not a child anymore.” Meng Hu sighed and said, “You raised me from a baby to adulthood, and even now, you are still the one who loves me the most.”
“But you can’t protect me forever. What happened today wasn’t me being stubborn; it was a decision I made after careful consideration. You’re getting old, and you shouldn’t be worrying about family matters anymore.”
"Good lad, you've really grown up." Old Meng patted Meng Hu on the shoulder and nodded heavily: "I've watched you grow up since you were a child, and I raised you."
"So even though you've really grown up now, in my eyes you're still a child. But today, it seems I can no longer treat you like a child."
“Yes, Grandpa, I’m not a child anymore.” Meng Hu smiled. “Don’t blame me for being reckless today.”
"Alright, well done." Old Meng nodded with a smile: "No matter how much of a scoundrel Meng Changyou is, he is still your second uncle, a member of the Meng family. The younger must respect the elders, that's the rule, so I will teach him a lesson today, you just watch from the side."
"Yes, sir, I'll do whatever you say." Meng Hu nodded and then stepped aside.
Old Meng slowly turned around, his face showing a hint of coldness.
