"Ye Xingchen, help me." Seeing Ye Xingchen arrive, Li Tianqi felt as if he had met a savior.

Several police officers were already inside the villa, led by a female officer whose crisp uniform accentuated her strikingly full figure.

"Who are you?" Upon seeing Ye Xingchen, the policewoman stood up and instructed the person beside her, "Xiao Zhao, take a statement from him."
“Zilin, this is Ye Xingchen, my friend. He’s here to help.” Li Tianqi quickly said, “Mr. Ye, this is Bai Zilin, my cousin. She currently works in the Criminal Investigation Brigade of the Municipal Public Security Bureau and is the captain of the criminal police team.”
“It’s working hours now, please call me Officer Bai. Also, if you want to find Yi Jin, you’d better investigate everyone around you. Until she is found, everyone is a suspect.” Bai Zilin glanced at Ye Xingchen.

“I’ve found a clue, so of course I need to solve the problem,” Li Tianqi said in a deep voice.
"What clues did you find? You actually believe him just because he mentioned using witchcraft?" Bai Zilin's pretty face darkened slightly. "Can you please stop being so naive?"
“Mr. Ye wouldn’t speak carelessly. If he says it’s a curse, then it is a curse.” Li Tianqi frowned.
"Ridiculous! This is clearly a home invasion kidnapping case. This matter can only be handled by your police. What are you talking about with black magic? Don't you find it laughable?" Bai Zilin snorted, looking at Ye Xingchen with utter disdain.

"Put away your overflowing sense of responsibility. This is really not something you can handle." Ye Xingchen glanced at Bai Zilin.
This woman is quite pretty, but why does she act so self-important and brainless?
"I'm a police officer. If I can't solve this, who can? As for you, what are you trying to achieve by spouting these superstitious nonsense?" Bai Zilin retorted.
"Li Tianqi, let her go. I guarantee that as long as she's here, she'll definitely cause trouble." Ye Xingchen frowned.
Being beautiful is a plus, but Li Yijin is facing a life-or-death situation and cannot afford to make the slightest mistake.
"Cousin, let's go home. I'll explain to Uncle later." Li Tianqi gave her the order to leave without hesitation.

After chasing Bai Zilin away, Ye Xingchen turned around and went back to her room.
Li Yijin was wearing the lightning-struck wood he had given her. He could use that opportunity to find Li Yijin's whereabouts. Now, he could only pray that the lightning-struck wood was still on Li Yijin.
In a secluded little courtyard, Li Yijin slowly woke up.
She opened her eyes to a gray ceiling. Her pupils contracted sharply. This wasn't her home. She snapped awake and quickly got to her feet.
She was in a dimly lit room, filled with the scent of incense.
There were no lights, only two flickering candles placed in front of a shrine.
A fierce-looking statue appeared extremely menacing in the dim candlelight.
The moment she got up, a hunched figure appeared. It was Granny Hong. She lit two incense sticks and placed them in front of the statue.
"It's you, you old hag! You really are a persistent ghost!" Li Yijin said warily, "What exactly do you want?"
"Heh, little girl, watch your mouth. I'm still your elder, after all." Granny Hong sneered and slowly turned around.
