Chapter 974 What we just agreed on

"Let me go, I want to eat!" Old Chang suddenly opened his eyes and roared, "Untie me right now!"

"Dad, didn't we just agree on this?" Chang Wentong was taken aback.

"What agreement? If there was no agreement, I don't accept it! I want to eat now. Untie me quickly so I can have a bite, just one bite!" the elder shouted, then struggled to get up.

“Grandpa, this won’t do. Ye Xingchen said you only have one chance. You can’t eat anything.” Liu Qingmei also stepped forward to persuade him, “Just bear with it a little longer, it’ll be over soon.”

"I can't take it anymore! Let me go right now! You unfilial descendants, you're eating while I'm left out?" the elder cursed. "I don't care, I want to eat! I'm an old man, I don't ask for anything else, just to have something to eat! Let me go right now, or I'll be rude to you! Hey you, untie me!"

"Biaozi, where is Biaozi? Untie him right now!" the elder roared, his eyes bloodshot with anxiety, but no matter how he called out, no one answered.

“Grandpa, it’s no use.” Ye Xingchen shook his head and said, “You can scream your lungs out, but it won’t help. I’ve said it before, you only have one chance today. If you can be cured this time, you will live to be a hundred years old. If you can’t be cured, you will die within six months.”

"I don't care! I'm so old, and you've tied me up and won't let me eat, all for a bite to eat?" the old man roared. "Hurry up, right now..."

Seeing that no one was paying attention to him, the old man argued. He struggled and fell off the stool, then twisted his body and tried to move towards the big pot.

"Hold him down," Ye Xingchen shouted.

Several bodyguards immediately rushed up and held the old man down, but the old man was now surprisingly strong. He managed to push away the several burly bodyguards who were holding him down.

His eyes were red as he struggled forward, clearly determined that he wouldn't survive until he got his hands on some meat today.

"Hold him down tight, don't let him go any further," Ye Xingchen shouted.

"Quick, hold my dad down, don't let him move anymore," Chang Wentong hurriedly ordered several bodyguards.

Several bodyguards gritted their teeth and rushed forward, pinning the old man to the ground. The old man, his eyes red, roared and struggled forward with difficulty, but how could a man in his seventies possibly withstand a group of energetic young men?

He was forced to the ground, his eyes fixed longingly on the meat in the pot. He cursed, "You bunch of bastards, I'll teach you a lesson when I let go! Meat! I want meat!"

Seeing the old man screaming pitifully, his voice even sounding somewhat tragic, Liu Qingmei felt a pang of pity and looked at Ye Xingchen.

Ye Xingchen stared intently at the elder. Suddenly, he stepped forward and gently pushed and patted the elder's back.

A wisp of true energy surged into his body and entered his eight extraordinary meridians. The elder let out a "whoosh," and something popped out of his mouth.

This thing was about the size of a walnut, all fleshy, and its two eyes were unusually large, bulging outwards. Then it twisted its fleshy body and desperately moved towards the pot.

Chang Wentong was stunned when he saw this strange thing. He had never seen anything like it before in all his years.

Even Liu Qingmei was somewhat surprised, because she had inherited Liu Sanqing's magic and often dealt with strange things, but even she didn't know what this thing in front of her was.

Ye Xingchen took out a glass dome, quickly took a few steps forward, and shoved the dome over the strange insect, then sealed it up.

After sealing it properly, he used his right hand to draw several talismans in the air, completely sealing the bottle before putting it away.

The elder on the other side looked completely exhausted. He lay on the ground, panting heavily. The worm that came out of his mouth seemed to have drained him of all his strength.

"Grandpa, are you alright? How are you feeling?" Liu Qingmei quickly helped him up.

"I, I'm fine, I'm fine." The elder gasped for breath, and then Liu Qingmei helped him sit down. He clutched his chest and it took him a long time to catch his breath.

"Alright, old man, it's alright now. You should eat lighter meals in the future, but even if I let you eat as much as you want now, I'm afraid you wouldn't be able to eat anymore," Ye Xingchen said with a smile.

"Dad, why don't you have some?" Chang Wentong asked tentatively, then beckoned someone to bring over a plate of pork knuckle.

"This...take it away, take it away. I feel nauseous just looking at this stuff." The elder had taken the chopsticks intending to take a bite, but after picking them up and seeing the meat, he felt a strong wave of nausea in his stomach.

He almost vomited, threw down his chopsticks, and quickly waved his hand to indicate that he was not eating anymore.

"Alright, Elder, the problem is solved. You can eat some light food from now on and go back to rest," Ye Xingchen said.

"That's it?" The elder looked at Ye Xingchen in surprise.

But thinking about it, it makes sense. I haven't eaten anything all day. I'm unmoved by this meat, and I even feel a little nauseous. Hasn't this illness been cured?

"Yes, sir, your illness is completely cured. From now on, eat a light diet and maintain a regular schedule, and I guarantee you will live to be a hundred years old," Ye Xingchen said with a chuckle.

"Very good, very good. Young man, you are indeed remarkable. I have consulted all the famous doctors in the vicinity for this illness, but no one can cure me, and they can't even find the cause of the illness." The elder's brows relaxed.

He yawned. The thing had taken a lot of his energy out of him, so he needed to go back and rest properly.

"Dad, let me take you back first." Chang Wentong saw that he was sleepy, so he helped him and took him back to his room.

"Xiao Ye, I'll head back now. Qing Mei, you stay here and have a few drinks with Xiao Ye, make sure he's well taken care of." The elder instructed Liu Qing Mei before leaving.

"Okay, Grandpa, you can go back and rest now. I'll take good care of him." Liu Qingmei nodded gently.

The elder then left with peace of mind, but before leaving, he couldn't help but glance at Ye Xingchen a few more times before finally following his eldest son away.

"What is this?" After seeing her grandfather off, Liu Qingmei looked curiously at the glass bottle in Ye Xingchen's hand.

The strange insect from before was now placed inside a bottle sealed with a Bagua shaped closure, which appeared to be a specially made magical artifact for containing demons.

Moreover, she understood the few movements Ye Xingchen had just drawn in the air; they were a demon-sealing spell, the purpose of which was to seal this thing inside the bottle.

“You can think of this as a craving,” Ye Xingchen said. “It’s something that only exists in legends.”
