"Why aren't the lights on?" Chen Hu was concerned about Teacher Xiaoyu and his son, and didn't notice Chen Qing's expression at all. He turned on the indoor lights.
Xiaoyu hugged Xiaoshan tightly, looking somewhat frightened. Chen Hu quickly stepped forward: "Teacher Xiaoyu, are you alright? Xiaoshan, don't be afraid, Dad is back."
"Chen Hu." Xiao Yu looked fearfully at what was behind Chen Hu.
Chen Hu was startled and suddenly felt a chill run down his spine. Years of living a life of danger and hardship had made him instantly aware of the impending crisis.
"Don't move." Chen Qing's cold voice came over, and then a pistol was pressed against the back of Chen Hu's head.
"Chen Qing, what are you doing? Are you crazy?" Chen Hu was shocked. His own brother was pointing a gun at his forehead.
"Heh, I'm not crazy." Chen Qing laughed, holding a gun, and walked around to the front of Chen Hu, his face twisted and ferocious.
“Brother, for so many years, you have been denying me. You have never seriously considered my suggestions, and now you have even taken away the little power I have. If you treat me like this, one day I will be kicked out of the house.”
"I did this to protect you, and I haven't shortchanged you a single penny." Chen Hu retorted angrily, "You're my own brother, and you're pointing a gun at me?"
"Do you even consider me your brother, Chen Hu? I've always looked down on you. You came from humble beginnings and were treated like a dog. You're Tiger, the godfather of West City! How did you end up like this?" Chen Qing sneered.
"Chen Qing, put down your gun. Let's handle this behind closed doors. Don't let others use us," Chen Hu said coldly.
“Use? I don’t think so. Li Jincheng’s supporter said that once you’re dealt with, I’ll take over Xicheng,” Chen Qing said with a smile.
"The Tang family will never let you manage Xicheng, don't be silly." Chen Hu glanced at him.
"Heh, the Tang family? They'd better pray for themselves. The power structure in Yanjing hasn't changed in eighty years." Chen Qing laughed. "Even emperors should take turns. Someone is already going to deal with them. After tonight, the power structure in Yanjing will change."
Chen Hu was so shocked that he couldn't speak. After a long while, he said in a deep voice, "So you're going to kill me for the sake of Xicheng?"
"Every man for himself, or he'll be damned." Chen Qing pointed his gun at Chen Hu: "Brother, I'm sorry."
Chen Hu stared at Chen Qing, then suddenly laughed: "Good, as expected of my brother Chen Hu, you're ruthless enough. But do you really think you can replace me?"
“Li Jincheng promised me, and he won’t go back on his word, brother. I’ll see you off.” Chen Qing gritted his teeth and pulled on the template in his hand.
Chen Hu stared intently at him, and suddenly, he lunged at Chen Qing.
Bang…
As he tackled Chen Qing, the gun in his hand fired.
Chen Hu felt a jolt in his chest. He knew he was in trouble; damn it, he'd been shot, and in a vital spot.
In that instant, countless thoughts flashed through his mind. If he died, his son would probably suffer the same fate. What would happen to Teacher Xiaoyu? She was so young; would she be left to live a life of widowhood for him forever?
Damn it, he's about to die, why think so much? His own brother, whom he considered his own flesh and blood, actually did such a cruel thing.
With a thud, the two fell to the ground at the same time, but Chen Hu was unharmed. He was slightly taken aback; hadn't he been shot?
After all, he reacted quickly and didn't have time to think. He quickly rolled over, punched Chen Qing, who was trying to pick up the gun, and then grabbed the gun from the ground.
Chen Hu was panting heavily. Still shaken, he touched his chest and found it unharmed.
He suddenly remembered the piece of wood Ye Xingchen had given him, and he quickly reached into his pocket.
However, that piece of wood struck by lightning had long since turned into sawdust.
That shot was blocked by this piece of wood. Chen Hu was both shocked and frightened. Ye Xingchen had saved his life.
He'll have to beg for the leg of such a master, even if he has to kneel down.
Chen Qing was punched so hard by Chen Hu that blood gushed from his mouth and nose, but now he couldn't walk because his gun had been taken away.
"Boss, what's going on?" The henchmen outside the door heard the gunshots coming from inside and rushed in.
"Take Xiaoshan and Teacher Xiaoyu away and settle them in. Send people to protect them 24 hours a day. There's nothing more for you here. Get out," Chen Hu said through gritted teeth.
"Yes." A group of underlings led Xiaoshan and Teacher Xiaoyu out and closed the door.
Chen Hu stared at Chen Qing, put away his gun, grabbed a chair, and smashed it hard against Chen Qing.
"Ah..." Chen Qing screamed and cried, dodging and crawling on the ground, trying to avoid it, but Chen Hu followed behind him, grabbing a chair and occasionally dropping the chair.
Soon, Chen Qing was covered in blood from being smashed all over his body. He lay on the ground, panting like a dead dog.
"You've got guts now. When you were in school, I got up at four or five in the morning to set up a stall, then drove a taxi, did several part-time jobs, and sent you to university." Chen Hu, panting heavily, kicked him again: "You were raised to adulthood just so you would turn around and kill me?"
“Kill me, go ahead and kill me if you dare! Chen Hu, you killed your only brother, now you have no family left in this world.” Chen Qing roared with a savage grin, “The reason I’ve come to this point is all because of you.”
"Yes, it's all because of me. I should have made you drop out of school early and let you suffer the harsh realities of society. If that had happened, you would have known how hard-won our position is today." Chen Hu kicked him far away again.
“I won’t kill you, not even my own dog,” Chen Hu said coldly. “But I will hand you over to the Tang family to deal with.”
"Then you might as well kill me yourself!" Chen Qing roared. "I'm your own brother."
“My own brother? There’s something I’ve never told you.” Chen Hu said coldly, “You’re Dad’s adopted son, and you have no blood relation to him or me.”
"What?" Chen Qing's eyes widened suddenly.
“Originally, I wanted to keep this secret, but,” Chen Hu glanced at him, “there’s no need to now.”
"Men, tie him up and keep an eye on him." Chen Hu turned and walked out.
Tonight in Beijing is destined to be an extraordinary night.
Ye Xingchen dealt with several groups of people, and then received a call from Tang Yixue: "How are things on your end?"
"It's all resolved," Ye Xingchen said. "And you guys?"
“We’re fine. We’ve dealt with a group of people and have found Li Jincheng’s address. Do you need us to handle that?” Tang Yixue asked.
"No need, I'll handle it. I have some things I need to ask him in person to clarify," Ye Xingchen said.
"I'll send you the location." Tang Yixue smiled slightly and hung up the phone.
After receiving the location, Ye Xingchen headed directly to the east of the city.
In a villa in the east of the city, Li Jincheng had a gloomy expression.
His son, Li Bo, was ashen-faced and kept clenching his legs together; he had not yet recovered from the grief of losing his manhood.
