Ren Jin took a few days off, and a few days ago he returned to the construction site carrying several boxes of wedding candy and cookies to announce that he was getting married.

“Of course! My sister-in-law is so beautiful and virtuous, how could my brother not be happy?” Qian Mingjun chimed in, scanning Ren Jin from head to toe. “No need to ask, the clothes my brother is wearing must be new ones my sister-in-law bought. They’re obviously not my brother’s taste.”
Ren Jin usually wears down jackets, cotton coats, and sweatpants in winter. He had never seen such a flashy leather jacket paired with dress pants before.
Ren Jin looked down at his clothes: straight trousers, a gray turtleneck sweater, and a leather jacket.
This entire outfit was newly bought for him by Gu Yueji.
A few days ago, he and Gu Yueji went out to buy holiday gifts. Remembering that she was currently wearing sample clothes from her online store, he drove to the mall after shopping, thinking of getting her some new clothes.
However, Gu Yueji didn't buy many clothes for herself; she just picked out clothes for him, saying this one was for social occasions and that one was for warmth, and she put together quite a few outfits.
He had a dinner party tonight, so she remembered to prepare his clothes and put them on the bed as soon as she got up. Before he left, she even thoughtfully tidied his clothes at the door.
"Who wouldn't be comfortable living this kind of life?" Ren Jin thought, a warm smile spreading across his face. "Your sister-in-law has better taste than me. She doesn't like any of the clothes I buy."
"Hey bro, are you showing off your love?" The office staff burst into laughter.
Ren Jin wasn't shy at all, "You single guys can eat it."
The group was laughing and joking, which annoyed Ren Jin. "Alright, it's almost Chinese New Year, everyone keep a close eye on the project. Your sister-in-law and I will treat you to dinner before the New Year, so get back to work now."
"Okay, thank you, Brother Jin and Sister-in-law."
Everyone agreed and headed outside.
After everyone else left, only Qian Mingjun and Ren Jin remained in the office.
Ren Jin noticed Qian Mingjun looked like he had something to say, and asked, "What's wrong?"
Unexpectedly, Qian Mingjun leaned closer and whispered, "Brother, let me ask you something quietly, how did you trick your wife into marrying you?"
That day, Ren Jin suddenly announced the good news of his marriage, which stunned him and his brothers at the construction site. The only woman they had ever met with Ren Jin was Gu Yueji, but as far as they knew, Ren Jin and Gu Yueji had broken up. Less than three months later, he suddenly announced his marriage.
So when they heard him say he was getting married, several people asked in unison, "Who is the bride?"
I still remember when Ren Jin's deep eyes curved slightly, and he said Gu Yueji's name, his tone was full of satisfaction and pride.
They were even more surprised.
Their memories were still stuck on the day they ate, when Ren Jin lied to Gu Yueji that he was a food deliveryman, and then not long after, Ren Jin invited them out for drinks. When talking about Gu Yueji, he said with a mocking look that he was tired of her and they had broken up.
Why are you suddenly getting married?
He was too shocked to ask questions that day, but now he couldn't hold back any longer.
Upon hearing this, Ren Jin's thick eyebrows furrowed. "What do you mean by lying?"
What kind of bullshit question is this?
Qian Mingjun, however, couldn't read the other person's expression and pressed on, asking, "Didn't you lie and say you were a food delivery guy? Last time you broke up, you said you were tired of playing around and didn't want to lie anymore, so you broke up with me?"
Ren Jin felt a pang of guilt upon hearing this.
He had been rebuffed by Gu Yueji at that time, and after drinking, he became depressed and said some nonsense that would hurt Gu Yueji's feelings.
He pointed his long finger at Qian Mingjun and said, "If you dare to utter a single word of these words in front of your sister-in-law, I'll break your legs."
"I'm not stupid, I definitely won't tell your wife." Qian Mingjun looked at Ren Jin's nervous expression. "So, brother, you really want to marry your wife?"
"Nonsense, what do you take me for, someone who treats marriage like a joke?"
"So now your wife knows you're a contractor? She's not angry?"
"She knows everything. I'm doing really well with your sister-in-law now."
Gu Yueji never mentioned the lie he had told her after they got married. He didn't know if she didn't mind anymore or if she just kept quiet about it. He didn't dare to ask or bring it up.
Fearing that her previous words might have caused Qian Mingjun to misunderstand and think that he looked down on Gu Yueji, she emphasized to Qian Mingjun again, "Your sister-in-law is the person I want to spend my life with. If you want me to be well, don't talk nonsense in front of her. You should respect and value her as you would me."
Qian Mingjun had always had a good first impression of Gu Yueji, and he was overjoyed to learn that the two of them were getting married.
"I understand. I also think your wife is wonderful. I sincerely wish you happiness, brother."

That evening, Ren Jin planned to take Gu Yueji out for a business dinner, so he left the construction site early.
"Honey, are you all done over there? I'm coming home to pick you up now."
Ren Jin rarely calls Gu Yueji by her name anymore; he just calls her "wife."
"Ren Jin, where are you?"
Gu Yueji rarely called him "husband," except when she was forced to in bed. This became one of Ren Jin's pleasures; he would force Gu Yueji to call him that, and once wasn't enough. He would only give her a quick end once he was satisfied with the sound.
"It'll take about an hour to get home, no rush."
"Okay, I'll be downstairs on time."
Just as Ren Jin arrived at his building, Gu Yueji walked out of the stairwell.
Today she wore a burgundy V-neck dress, her long, swan-like neck and snow-white, delicate skin accentuated by the knitted dress, which highlighted her graceful figure and her straight, slender legs.
She walked gracefully towards him, and Ren Jin's gaze followed her.
As I opened the car door and got in, a fragrant aroma wafted in.
