Chapter 133 I Won't Marry

When Lin Wenwen pushed open the door to the ward, Xiao Yao was feeding Zhong Xuyang an apple. All three of them were stunned for a moment.

Zhong Xuyang's first reaction was to look at Xiao Yao, and Xiao Yao turned her gaze away and looked at Zhong Xuyang as well.

Seeing his complicated, hesitant expression, Xiao Yao asked with a forced smile, "Why are you looking at me like that? Do you want me to make room for you two to catch up?"

Zhong Xuyang was afraid she would misunderstand, so he hurriedly opened his mouth to explain, but Xiao Yao glared at him and interrupted, "Don't even think about it, say what you have to say to my face!"

Zhong Xuyang paused for two seconds, then smiled with relief, saying in a slightly coquettish tone, "I still want to eat an apple."

Xiao Yao was angry, so she shoved the half-eaten apple into his hand and said, "Take it and eat it yourself."

His left hand wasn't injured; it was her tender care during this time that spoiled him, making him act as if he didn't have a hand. He needed her to feed him by hand, and she had to cut apples into small pieces and put them into his mouth.

Zhong Xuyang didn't protest. He took the apple, took a bite, nodded, and continued what she had just said, "Yes, the apples you peeled are especially sweet."

Xiao Yao glared at him, suspecting that he was deliberately putting on an act in front of Lin Wenwen, but she had no proof.

Lin Wenwen stood at the door, completely ignored, watching the two of them chatting intimately as if no one else was around, seemingly having no intention of entertaining her. She didn't know whether to come in or go out.

Xiao Yao lowered her head and remained silent. It wasn't that she wanted to embarrass Lin Wenwen or deliberately show affection to Zhong Xuyang, but rather that she didn't know how to greet Lin Wenwen. After all, she still disliked this person, and she didn't want to pretend to be friendly. If anyone was going to greet her, it would be Zhong Xuyang who did.

Zhong Xuyang took another bite of the apple. Seeing that Xiao Yao didn't seem to have the mindset of a hostess in entertaining the guests, he could only turn to Lin Wenwen and say, "Come in and sit down."

Lin Wenwen's embarrassment instantly turned into a sweet smile because of Zhong Xuyang's words. However, Zhong Xuyang's gaze did not linger on her for even a second longer before turning back to look at Xiao Yao.

She had no choice but to take the flowers in her hands and go to Zhong Xuyang's bedside. "I saw that these champagne roses were blooming very well, so I bought them for you. I hope you recover soon." After saying that, she put the flowers on the bedside table.

Zhong Xuyang glanced at the bouquet of flowers, but his brows furrowed.

This flower is Lin Wenwen's favorite. In the past, when he gave her flowers, she would specifically ask for these champagne roses. This flower can also be considered the one that symbolized their love.

Zhong Xuyang didn't know whether Lin Wenwen did it intentionally or unintentionally, but he was secretly glad that Xiao Yao didn't know the meaning of the flower.

However, Zhong Xuyang's opinion was just his opinion.

During college, whenever there was a holiday, Xiao Yao would see Lin Wenwen holding champagne roses and walking sweetly with Zhong Xuyang on the campus path. It was easy to understand what these flowers meant to them.

Xiao Yao glared at the back of Zhong Xuyang's head as he turned to look at the flowers, and really wanted to slap him there.

Feeling increasingly aggrieved, Xiao Yao thought to herself, "Why should I put up with this?" So she stood up angrily and walked towards the bouquet of flowers. "Excuse me, I'm allergic to pollen, so I might have to put these flowers a little further away."

She picked up the flowers and was about to place them on the cabinet by the door when she turned around and saw Zhong Xuyang and Lin Wenwen staring at her blankly.

She deliberately asked Zhong Xuyang, "What? You want to put these flowers here?"

Zhong Xuyang snapped out of his daze and quickly shook his head in agreement, "Take it away, I'm also allergic to pollen."

Lin Wenwen stared stiffly at the two of them, one glaring and the other smiling. The flowers were taken to the door; she knew Zhong Xuyang wasn't allergic to pollen.

An awkward silence fell over the room. Xiao Yao was determined to ignore Lin Wenwen, while Zhong Xuyang didn't understand why Lin Wenwen had come to visit but sat there silently, so he had to break the silence.

"How have you been lately? Why did you come alone? Where are Liu Yang and the child?"

Lin Wenwen was stunned for a moment, and then smiled bitterly. "The child is with his grandmother. Liu Yang cheated on me while I was in postpartum confinement. I'm going to divorce him now."

This answer caused Xiao Yao and Zhong Xuyang to exchange a silent glance.

Lin Wenwen lowered her head and licked her lips. "I often think back to the days we spent together. I was really wrong." She looked up at Zhong Xuyang with tears welling up in her eyes. "Xuyang, I regret it so much."

Xiao Yao curled her lips into a smile, knowing that this person's visit wouldn't bring anything good.

Zhong Xuyang's face darkened. He nervously grabbed Xiao Yao's hand and placed it on his leg, holding it tightly, afraid that she would shake him off.

Fortunately, Xiao Yao only glared at him and did not resist or struggle.

Zhong Xuyang said helplessly, "You are already someone else's wife and the mother of my child. I am also preparing to get married. We have both started new lives. Why do you still have to say these things that make everyone unhappy?"

Lin Wenwen wiped away her tears.

Perhaps it was because they had accompanied each other from their innocent childhood to their youth, spending so many wonderful times together, or perhaps it was because Zhong Xuyang, after learning about her flirting with Liu Yang, still chose to forgive her and continue being with her. Lin Wenwen always felt that she and Zhong Xuyang were inseparable. She thought they might go through twists and turns, but in the end, they would both return to each other's side.

She admitted that she hurt Zhong Xuyang. They were each other's first love and had been together for 10 years. They accompanied each other from their student days to entering society. They drifted apart and their relationship became mundane.

Watching her best friends go through one boyfriend after another, discussing the different experiences each boyfriend brought them, she suddenly realized one day that it would be a pity and boring to only date one man for a lifetime. She also wanted to try the different feelings that different men could bring her. Unconsciously, her heart began to waver, especially after Zhong Xuyang started to be busy with work and spent less time with her. This feeling became even stronger.
