Jiang Shuyue wrote two prescriptions to regulate the body: one to calm the mind and help with sleep, and the other to replenish qi and blood.
Seeing that Jiang Shuyue had beautiful handwriting and spoke accurately about her illness, the old lady Zhen dispelled her doubts.
Many years ago, before her eldest granddaughter got married, the old lady asked her granddaughter to learn how to manage banquets. She clearly remembered that Miss Jiang came to the banquet.
With her charming and lovely appearance, and her outstanding talent, she was particularly eye-catching among the many noble ladies.
But Miss Jiang, a young lady from a respectable family, naturally possessed knowledge of music, chess, calligraphy, and painting, and her superb medical skills were undeniable.
Furthermore, that mansion is incredibly valuable. Even if she were a daughter of the Minister's family, she still couldn't afford it, even if she sold all the family's possessions.
Seeing Jiang Shuyue put down her pen and ink, the nanny picked up the prescription and gently blew on it.
The old lady put aside her thoughts and smiled, saying, "If I may ask, how old is Miss Jiang? Are any of your family members with you?"
"Thank you for your concern, Madam. My daughter is already twenty years old, and her family is still in Yannan for the time being."
Jiang Shuyue deliberately kept her age vague to avoid the real old lady taking it personally.
Asking such a blunt question to a young lady on their first meeting is really a bit too hasty for the old lady.
Seeing Jiang Shuyue answer so gracefully, the old lady smiled and praised, "Young lady, you are so young, yet your medical skills are so remarkable. It is truly not easy."
Jiang Shuyue gave a few more instructions and then took her leave.
Knowing that she was going to the clinic, the old lady couldn't persuade her to stay, so she had her nanny go to the storeroom and pick out a piece of fine cloud-patterned silk as a return gift.
Jiang Shuyue couldn't refuse, so she had no choice but to accept it.
As the head steward saw the girl off at the courtyard gate, the old woman smiled broadly and said, "This girl is quite nice. She's as beautiful as a fairy, with a kind face and a talent for healing the sick. It's just a pity that she's three years older than Young Master Sun."
“Jingxiu is eighteen years old by the traditional Chinese age reckoning. How can he be three years older? As the saying goes, ‘A woman three years older is like a golden brick,’ but I think it’s quite good for a woman to be a little older.”
The old woman bowed and smiled, "What the old lady says is true. I just don't know what kind of people are in the young lady's family, whether they are officials or merchants."
The old lady was confident. "No rush, there will be plenty of time to learn more later."
If her husband hadn't praised Jiang Shuyue's talent, she wouldn't have been willing to ask so many questions.
The scholarly family has always believed in judging a person by their writings. After meeting the real person, the old lady finally understood why her husband and grandson praised the girl so highly.
Jiang Shuyue and Qiuju returned to the manor, and Qiuju handed the return gift from the old lady to Lan'er.
Gao Mu drove the carriage to take the two to the clinic.
Once seated in the carriage, Qiuju said happily, "Miss, the old lady's eyes were shining when she looked at you just now. Could it be that she wants to come and propose marriage?"
Jiang Shuyue smiled slyly, "Yes! I'll give you away in marriage when she comes to propose."
"Cough cough..."
Hearing Gao Mu cough, Jiang Shuyue lifted the carriage curtain and asked, "Gao Mu, have you caught a cold? I'll get you some medicine to take home and brew later."
"Thank you for your concern, Miss. I just have a sore throat."
"A sore throat is also caused by catching a cold."
Jiang Shuyue's professional habit kicked in again. When Gao Mu took her and Qiu Ju to the clinic, she personally prepared a prescription for Gao Mu to take back.
Time flies, and Jiang Shuyue is busy day and night.
One evening, as usual, she went into her space to study medicinal prescriptions. When she passed by the spiritual land, she realized that she had casually broken off a few bags of tender corn.
All the tender corn in the field was piled up on one side.
She immediately thought of boiled corn on the cob and roasted corn.
She picked up a few corn seeds and put them back into the spiritual soil. There should have been corn for sale at the market this season, but due to the long drought, farmers were almost out of food, so there was no tender corn to sell.
Jiang Shuyue thought about the rapid reproduction rate of meat rabbits, and walked towards the meadow.
Time inside the space is ten times longer than outside, and there are more than twice as many rabbits running around as there were a few days ago.
Looking at the snow-white rabbit, she had a bold idea.
But the time isn't right yet, so she has to be patient a little longer.
With dawn breaking and her spirits high, Jiang Shuyue broke through her bottleneck that very night and devised a formula to counteract the seasonal cold syndrome.
She immediately copied each of the three prescriptions, wrote down the symptoms and usage details, and finally attached a letter.
After tidying everything up, she went to sleep in the space.
I left the space in the morning, and after washing up, it was still just dawn.
In the garden, a whooshing sound came from the air, and two figures could be seen flying up and down, as fast as lightning.
Upon hearing footsteps, Gao Mu and Cang Yun sheathed their swords.
"Good morning, Miss." The two leaped and landed not far from Jiang Shuyue, bowing respectfully.
"Which of you two delivers this letter to Yannan and hands it over to the Crown Prince? The contents are very important, so the sooner the better."
Cangyun stepped forward: "Miss, I have made contact with the young master's people, and I will deliver it to them immediately."
Before dawn, Cangyun delivered the letter to Xiao Jingzhao's contact in the capital.
After sending the letter, Jiang Shuyue felt relieved.
With the flood season approaching, the clear sky showed no sign of rain.
One day, Jiang Shuyue had just seen off a patient at the clinic when a woman who looked like a steward walked into the clinic.
Upon seeing Jiang Shuyue, the head maid was slightly taken aback, then bowed respectfully in a curtsy.
He got straight to the point: "I am a servant of Lord Du Zhong. May I ask if you, young lady, are willing to make a house call?"
Du Zhong was the son of the Minister of the Court of Judicial Review.
Jiang Shuyue pretended not to know and nodded slightly, "I can make house calls, but the consultation fee will be a little higher."
"It's alright, as long as you're willing to go, the consultation fee won't be a problem." The woman said, taking the opportunity to glance at Jiang Shuyue again.
