Chapter 17 Nangong Zeyue

"Old Liu is so careless. Just because she's the lady's dowry maid, she forgot to lock the storeroom door. And now she's blaming us for losing things." The maid muttered as she locked the door and went back to her room to doze off.

Jiang Shuyue: "..."

This guy's luck is unbelievable; even robbing someone is this difficult.

what to do?

If they can't get back before dawn, Aunt Su's family and Qiu Ju will be in a terrible panic.

After a moment, Jiang Shuyue calmed down and, seeing that no one had escaped, began to look for a way out.

If she knocked on the door, she might alert someone to open it, but even if the people from the Guo family opened the door, she wasn't sure she could get out of the house.

If the manager brings a group of people, some will go into the warehouse to check, and others will block the door, so she won't have a chance to go out even if she hides in her spatial storage.

After looking around, no windows were found.

Jiang Shuyue placed the candle on the shelf, pondering how to leave.

The soft candlelight illuminated her beautiful face, her delicate eyebrows slightly furrowed as she gazed at the rooftop.

Suddenly, the corners of her mouth turned up, and her almond-shaped eyes curved into crescents.

She saw a small skylight on one side of the roof; it was truly a case of "when one door closes, another opens."

With a thought, the bamboo ladder appeared.

Fortunately, the bamboo ladder was long enough to reach the roof beam.

Holding a candle in one hand and gripping the bamboo ladder with the other, Jiang Shuyue kept her feet firmly planted on the sturdy beam before putting the ladder back into her spatial storage.

The roof beams were covered with a thick layer of dust, and the clothes looked rubbed and ruined.

Jiang Shuyue secretly grumbled to herself.

He originally planned to pretend to be a ghost to scare people when he was discovered, but now he has been forced to become a thief.

Looking through the skylight, Jiang Shuyue saw the stars twinkling in the sky. She blew out the candle and, with a thought, put the candle back into her space.

I climbed out of the skylight and sat on the roof to catch my breath for a while.

Looking around, Jiang Shuyue noticed that there was a wall not far away.

Following the same method, after leaving the Guo residence, she vigorously patted the dust off her body.

Just as she was about to walk along the wall.

"Hey, girl."

The person slapped her on the shoulder.

Jiang Shuyue's legs went weak, and she stumbled and leaned against the wall.

She turned around abruptly, and in the moonlight, she saw a slender man standing a step away from her.

The man's bright, fox-like eyes were like stars. He was dressed in black night clothes, and his handsome appearance exuded a sense of mystery and unruliness.

"In the middle of the night, do you know that scaring someone can kill them?" Jiang Shuyue took two steps to the side, still shaken, and scolded angrily.

The man sized up the beautiful woman before him, smiled at her, and asked, "Are you the concubine of Master Guo?"

Your whole family consists of concubines.

Jiang Shuyue glared at the man, then turned to leave.

In the dead of night, it's either a bad guy or a thief; she didn't want to say another word to this person.

The man clasped his hands and said, "I am Nangong Zeyue. Is the young lady trying to escape from the Guo family? Why don't you wait for me for a moment, and I will give you a ride."

Just as Jiang Shuyue was about to praise him as a good person, the man looked up at the high wall.

"How did you get down here, young lady? This place isn't far from the Guo family's main courtyard, is it?"

Jiang Shuyue: "..."

That's a real thief!

"Cough cough..."

Jiang Shuyue almost choked on her own saliva. She glared at Nangong Zeyue and said, "Young master, the Guo family is heavily guarded. Don't even think about going in to make your fortune."

“Young lady, you underestimate me. I know this much. How could a mere wealthy man’s house be so heavily guarded?”

"I bet there isn't a single person patrolling this yard." Nangong Ze lightly touched the ground with his toes and leaped into the air, as light as a swallow.

"Fine, if you won't listen to my advice, then I won't keep you company." Jiang Shuyue turned around and strode away.

"Miss, may I ask your name?"

"No need to ask, we have different paths, so we cannot work together." Jiang Shuyue left these words without turning her head, and disappeared into the vast night in the blink of an eye.

"This beautiful woman is quite something to escape from the Guo residence." Nangong Zeyue watched her figure disappear around the corner before leaping into the Guo residence.

A moment later, a cry of surprise rang out from the Guo residence, and maids and servants all ran towards the east courtyard.

"Call the master quickly, a thief has broken into the manor."

"Quick, chase after him! The thief ran into the west courtyard."

"Quickly grab him, he's emptied the warehouse."

Immediately, chaos erupted at the Guo residence.

Nangong Zeyue was like a rat crossing the street, relentlessly pursued by everyone.

Just as the servant coming from the opposite side was about to block his way, Nangong Zeyue leaped onto the artificial hill and then jumped onto the wall.

It disappeared behind the wall after a few leaps.

After leaving the Guo residence, Nangong Zeyue chased after the direction in which Jiang Shuyue had disappeared.

Under the vast darkness of night, there was no trace of her.

Nangong Zeyue gritted her teeth, stomped her foot, and said, "Woman, don't let me see you again."

Nangong Zeyue felt aggrieved; she hadn't gotten a single penny and had been chased and forced to flee.

His reputation as a master thief was ruined by that femme fatale.

Nangong Zeyue tidied her messy hair and strode towards the inn.

We hadn't gone far when we saw bright lights ahead.

"Oh no! My package is still at the inn." Nangong Zeyue cried out in despair and had no choice but to turn and run.

Only then did he truly understand what his master meant when he said that it didn't matter if his martial arts skills were lacking, but his lightness skill had to be excellent.

...

Meanwhile, Jiang Shuyue returned to the village entrance. She dismounted, flicked her sleeve, and the horse disappeared into her spatial storage.

Walking back along the ridge, my shoes were wet with dew from the grass.

Back in the courtyard, she listened to the sounds inside the house, then gently pushed the door open and went in.

Once inside the bedroom, she quickly slipped into the spatial dimension.
