"Oh! Young master and young mistress, please enjoy your meal. I will come back later to clear the dishes."
The son-in-law's tone wasn't gentle, but Caiyan felt a surge of joy in his heart.
"No need to clean up, just clean up after dinner." Su Peng waved his hand impatiently.
"Yes, Your Majesty." Caiyan bowed and withdrew.
A smile flickered in Jiang Jiaojiao's eyes. So what if she was a concubine? In her husband's eyes, she was just a plaything.
Su Peng picked up the bowl, scooped some tofu onto the rice, and shoveled it into his mouth.
Seeing how much he was enjoying his food, Jiang Jiaojiao couldn't help but swallow.
Jiang Jiaojiao glanced at the food and said, "It's tofu again. I'm practically turning into tofu myself."
Su Peng swallowed the food in his mouth and smiled, "My wife said she's tired of eating radishes and cabbage, so I specially told her to change the dishes."
"Have you heard the legend of the Tofu Beauty?" Su Peng picked up a piece of tofu with his chopsticks and put it into Jiang Jiaojiao's bowl.
"What tofu beauty?"
"Legend has it that long, long ago, there was a woman as beautiful as an angel. Her skin was as white and smooth as jade, and everyone who saw her could not take their eyes off her. Later, someone asked her how she was born with such fair and tender skin, and guess what happened?"
Jiang Jiaojiao looked at Su Peng as if he were an idiot. "What else could it be? His family sells tofu."
"My wife is so clever."
The Su family is only well-off; they can't afford to eat meat every day. Jiang Jiaojiao sighed, picked up her bowl, and began to eat in small bites.
She hadn't even taken a few bites when Su Peng finished a whole bowl of rice.
"My dear wife, please enjoy your meal. The dye shop has secured another big order today. I'll be there as soon as possible and return soon."
Before Jiang Jiaojiao could even react, Su Peng dashed out of the room like a gust of wind.
