Chapter 33 Who Says Women Are Inferior to Men?

Jiang Shuyue has keen hearing, and she quickly determined the location of the sound.

"Quick, it's just ahead."

Jiang Shuyue jogged a few steps and pushed open the door, only to see an elderly man with gray hair and beard slumped over a desk, with some vomit on the floor.

The old man was listless and looked at the person who came.

He said weakly, "Quickly... quickly summon the academy's physician."

As the door opened, a foul odor wafted out.

The officer covered his nose with his sleeve: "Quickly help him outside."

Su Huai-ren put the medicine bucket under the eaves and quickly stepped forward to pull the headmaster's arm onto his shoulder.

Seeing that Su Huai Ren was struggling to get up, the officers stepped forward and lent a hand.

Jiang Shuyue quickly moved a chair out and placed it under the eaves.

The headmaster was housed outside.

When the headmaster saw the officials, he also saw that everyone else was a stranger.

Just as he was about to ask a question, the official said, "There has been food poisoning at the academy. This is the doctor."

Jiang Shuyue took a teacup from the desk, and Su Huai Ren picked up the wooden bucket to pour out the medicine.

"Master, please forgive me." Before the master could react, Su Huai-ren grabbed his chin with one hand.

With a "glug" sound, a cup of medicine was poured down his throat.

The medicine smelled unpleasant, and the taste was nauseatingly bitter.

The headmaster leaned forward and squatted under the eaves, vomiting violently.

“Sir, in order to buy some time, you and my uncle helped the headmaster to the corridor of the school.”

Jiang Shuyue saw that the headmaster had vomited bile, so he must be old and not eat much.

"Yes, Yueya, go ahead and check on the scholars. Leave the headmaster here to me." Su Huai Ren didn't care that the headmaster's clothes were stained with dirt, and helped the headmaster walk forward.

Jiang Shuyue thought to herself that the laxative should be ready by now.

She left those words and strode forward.

"My son! What's wrong with you?"

"The child is vomiting and has diarrhea; he's got an upset stomach! Arrest those heartless bastards in the kitchen; they're trying to kill my son!"

As soon as Jiang Shuyue stepped out of the backyard, she heard shouts, curses, wails and sobs coming from ahead.

Jiang Shuyue quickened her pace and saw many women in the schoolhouse and corridors embracing the scholar and wailing.

It turned out that the students' parents had come after hearing the noise.

"Stop yelling! Quickly help feed him the medicine. If you delay any longer, it will really kill your son." Su Jin carried the medicine bucket and weaved through the crowd.

The cooks, fearing they would be beheaded if someone died, carried bamboo baskets to distribute bowls to everyone and urged them to help administer the medicine.

The officials were overwhelmed by the stench at the scene.

One of the officers covered his nose with his sleeve and directed the others to carry water to wash away the vomit on the ground.

The doctors and the students' parents worked together to quickly administer the laxative.

As Jiang Shuyue came out, Su Jin hurriedly went to greet her: "Sister, you've already given her the second dose of medicine. When are you going to give her the third dose?"

Jiang Shuyue glanced at the chaotic scene and asked instead of answering, "Are there any unconscious patients?"

"No, the scholars who initially fainted and collapsed were given emetics and have all woken up now, but they are all slumped over their desks."

"Alright, the scholars will need to defecate within half a quarter of an hour after the laxative is taken. Quickly tell the officials to think of a solution."

Su Jin then asked, "When should I give the second dose of medicine?"

Jiang Shuyue calmly said, "No rush, we'll distribute the medicine in a quarter of an hour, still giving each person about half a bowl."

When the officials heard that the scholars were about to have a massive bowel movement, they were immediately on high alert.

"Quickly, send it to the washroom!"

One of the officers dropped the bucket he was holding and shouted, "Quickly take them to the washroom; they're about to soil themselves!"

Some of the scholars had regained some of their energy and perhaps vaguely sensed the changes in their bellies. They hurriedly clutched their stomachs and stumbled towards the washroom.

"Sir, there aren't enough washrooms, and there aren't enough chamber pots either," a constable ran back.

No sooner had he finished speaking than a "poof!" sound rang out.

Then, the noises increased.

The air was filled with a richer variety of scents.

Jiang Shuyue looked out from behind the railing and saw that the scholars were ashamed, some of them simply covered their faces and squatted on the ground.

Jiang Shuyue: "..." So even people in ancient times knew how to cover their faces when they encountered embarrassing situations.

If there were a hole in the ground right now, those scholars would have crawled in without hesitation.

Jiang Shuyue turned her face away, silently reciting in her heart, "Don't look at what is improper."

The leading officer turned around and saw Jiang Shuyue standing by the wall. He quickly walked over and asked, "Miss, what medicine did you give them? Why are they all having diarrhea?"

The academy was in a mess, and the officials were miserable seeing the scholars squatting on the ground covered in filth.

Jiang Shuyue said calmly, "Inducing vomiting isn't enough. We also need to make them pull out what's already in their intestines to ensure that the danger is minimized."

As Jiang Shuyue spoke, she turned back to look at the place where the headmaster had just appeared. The headmaster was no longer there; presumably, her uncle had helped him to the washroom.

If the headmaster were to do that in public, he would surely be so ashamed and indignant that he would probably bite his tongue and commit suicide.

"I'll go to the front hall to leave for a bit. Have someone prepare hot water and clean clothes. We're not completely out of danger yet."

Watching Jiang Shuyue walk towards the front hall, the official was on the verge of tears. What kind of mess was this?!

...

The Prince of Yannan's Mansion.

After hearing the report, Xiao Jingzhao immediately said to Xiang Yang and Xiang Song, "These are the students, the pillars of the nation. Quickly summon the doctor to come with me to examine them."

"Master, the government office has already sent dozens of doctors." Xiang Yang had just returned from the government office. He didn't mention that he himself had suggested this decision to the government office.
