Chapter 37 Prioritize Your Master

When Jiang Shuyue saw Aunt Su coming over, the joy on her face faded.

“Auntie, don’t worry, I will cover Su Jin and Su Nan’s tuition fees.”

"Moon, Auntie isn't worried about tuition fees, Auntie is worried about you getting tired."

Without Su Jin and Su Nan to help out at the clinic, there was no one to do the grinding of herbs, which was Su Aunt's biggest worry.

Aunt Su thought about how much income the clinic had made these past few days, and she took Jiang Shuyue's hand and said, "Yue'er, a young lady's hands are her second face. You should hire a junior pharmacist to grind the medicine!"

“Aunt is right. I will post a notice tomorrow to hire a doctor and two apprentice doctors.”

Lin Miaoshou will be leaving in a few days. He said he had something to do and it was inconvenient to take Shuisheng with him, so he asked Shuisheng to go back to Black Pool Valley with Nangong Zeyue first.

A short while later, Jiang Shuyue met Nangong Zeyue on her way to the clinic.

Today, Nangong Zeyue was dressed in a lake-blue straight-leg suit. Her tall and elegant figure was graceful and her smile was as warm as a spring breeze.

He stood out from the crowd, like a crane among chickens.

As Jiang Shuyue approached wearing a veil, a gentle breeze lifted a corner of the veil, revealing her delicate jawline.

He waved and called out, "Miss Jiang, what a coincidence! I just came out and ran into you."

Jiang Shuyue glared at him: "I walk this route eight hundred times a day, and I run into you as soon as I come out of the alley. Isn't that a coincidence?"

"Hehe! Miss Jiang is so humorous."

"When are you going back to Black Pool Valley?" Jiang Shuyue didn't beat around the bush and asked for the time. She then prepared some clothes and books for Shuisheng.

"My master asked me to move to a guest room in the front yard for a while. I came to ask for your opinion. Is it appropriate for me to move there?" Nangong Zeyue looked at Jiang Shuyue with a probing gaze.

“That’s Uncle Lin’s yard. He invited you to live there so that you could get closer to Shuisheng. You should move in. There’s no need to ask me about this.”

From the day Nangong Zeyue found Lin Miaoshou, Lin Miaoshou also confessed to everyone that the courtyard belonged to his family.

He didn't elaborate on where his family went.

From Nangong Zeyue's few words, we learned that Lin Miaoshou's entire family had been wiped out, and the perpetrators were the Empress's maternal family.

"Okay, I'll do as Miss Jiang says. I'll move there tomorrow."

Nangong Zeyue was overjoyed inside, but her face remained calm, only her fox-like eyes gleamed with a cunning light.

The two walked side by side, talking, and soon arrived at the clinic.

Inside the clinic, there were two men dressed in tight-fitting clothes, with swords at their waists.

Nangong Zeyue grabbed Jiang Shuyue's arm and pulled it behind her, looking at the two of them warily: "Who are you...?"

Xiang Song cupped his hands in a fist and said, "Don't be nervous. We are here on the orders of the Prince's heir to deliver a banner and a reward."

Jiang Shuyue was completely bewildered: "I've never had any dealings with the Prince's son before, why is he giving me this?"

Although Jiang Shuyue was greedy for money, a gentleman loves money but acquires it in a proper way. Especially with the sudden appearance of powerful and wealthy people, she was afraid of burning her hands with their money.

“The young lady saved so many people at Linjiang Academy; she deserves a reward,” Xiang Song explained.

Seeing that he wasn't a bad person, Nangong Zeyue finally let go of Jiang Shuyue's hand.

Xiang Song raised his eyes and quickly sized up the mysterious female doctor.

A crimson beauty mark was set between her eyebrows, her features were exquisite, and her clear eyes were like a mountain stream.

Xiang Song secretly admired her, thinking, "What a beautiful Guanyin! Especially that beauty mark; it looks familiar."

Jiang Shuyue now exudes an air of elegance that most young ladies lack, and Xiang Song and the other man didn't even think about it deeply.

Xiang Yang handed the banner to Su Jin, then quickly glanced at Jiang Shuyue before turning his gaze to the numerous banners hanging on the wall.

Xiang Song took out a silver note from his pocket and presented it with both hands: "This is on behalf of the Prince of Yannan's mansion. Please accept it, young lady."

Jiang Shuyue glanced at the silver notes, each worth one hundred taels, and immediately realized there were five hundred taels in them.

She accepted it with both hands, neither humble nor arrogant: "Thank you, Your Highness."

She didn't bother with polite words; given her profession, it was really inappropriate for her to say things like, "If the young master is ill, just give him his orders."

"I have come today on orders. There is another matter that I need to trouble you to accompany me to the Prince's residence."

"Is your young master sick?" Jiang Shuyue blurted out.

There's no such thing as a free lunch.

"Miss, you've misunderstood. He's not the heir apparent, but the eldest son of the Prince's mansion."

Jiang Shuyue glanced at the patients waiting to see a doctor in the clinic; there were fewer people than in the morning.

She said to Xiang Song, "No problem, please wait outside for a moment, I'll be right out."

“I’ll go with you.” Nangong Zeyue’s tone was firm and left no room for refusal.

"Sister, I'll go with you!" Su Jin put down her work and walked out from behind the counter.

"No need. Prince Yannan is a man with the world in his heart. His palace is certainly not a den of dragons or tigers. It is enough for Young Master Nangong to go with him."

Su Huai-ren also felt that Jiang Shu-yue's words made sense, and he added, "Go early and come back early."

"Uncle, tell Aunt not to wait for me for dinner. I don't know how serious the eldest young master's illness is, so I might be back a little late." Jiang Shuyue picked up the medicine box and walked out.

"I'll take it." Nangong Zeyue took the first-aid kit and slung it over her shoulder.

Xiang Song and Xiang Yang arrived on horseback. While Jiang Shuyue was speaking, Xiang Song hired a carriage on the street.

Watching the two of them board the carriage one after the other, Xiang Yang muttered to Xiang Song, "This female doctor and her husband have such a good relationship; they even want to follow along for such a short while."

Xiang Song rolled his eyes at him: "Don't talk like that without understanding the situation. If you had a wife with superb medical skills and a face more beautiful than a fairy, you would be even more nervous than him."

"If I had such a beautiful wife, no, if I saw such a beautiful girl, I would give priority to my master."
