Chapter 47 We'll See You Again

Sui Sui's cunning gaze swept across the man's face.

If he could reach out, he would love to pinch that ethereal face and see what it was made of, since it looked so much like his own.

To be honest, this old fox is quite handsome, but his eyes are too complicated for me to understand.

She thought to herself, "I can't cause trouble for my mother. It won't hurt to call him father. He's so rich, he definitely won't sell me."

He has an excellent sense of direction; even if he were sold, he could find his way back.

My mother always said, "A wise man doesn't suffer a loss in front of him, and a hero is one who understands the times."

He raised his chin slightly, and said in a cute but fierce tone, "Don't beat around the bush, do you need a son?"

"Cough cough..."

Xiao Jingzhao felt a chill enter his lungs and couldn't help but cough violently.

"Clang..."

"Yes, I'm sorry, it was my slip of the hand. I'll go get another plate right away..." Xiang Yang didn't even have time to clean up the broken porcelain pieces on the ground before he turned and ran away in a flash.

Good heavens! This brat is incredibly audacious, daring to challenge the prince.

After running for a while, Xiangyang slowed down and scratched the back of his head.

He muttered to himself, "Oh no, oh no, will the young master beat up that child?"

"Who do you think Master wants to beat up?"

Xiang Yang looked up suddenly and saw that if he took another step forward, he would bump into Xiang Song's arms.

Upon seeing Xiang Song, Xiang Yang felt as if he had seen a savior.

He reached out and pulled Xiang Song to a tree in the garden, and explained the whole story.

"What? You kidnapped someone else's child?"

"Do you know how chaotic East Street is? Some people have even gone to the yamen to report it to the authorities?"

Xiang Song glared at Xiang Yang fiercely, "People can look alike. Are you trying to please the master? You're just causing trouble!"

Xiang Song had just returned from the yamen when he overheard people talking about it on the street.

Laiyang City has always had a good reputation for its people and public order, and some people have begun to suspect that this was done by refugees.

"It really looks like him, no, it's exactly the same. Xiang Song, you should go and take a look. If that child really claims to be the prince's child, you must protect him. The child is innocent."

"Shut up!"

Xiang Song was so angry at this simpleton that he wanted to crack open his brain to see what was inside.

In the study.

For the first time in his life, Xiao Jingzhao suffered a setback.

Looking at the little face that was exactly like his own, he was 90% sure that the child was his.

He hadn't met the child's mother yet, and he didn't know how to respond to the conversation.

"Tell me who your mother is first, then I'll answer your question."

Sui Sui was puzzled. What did this guy mean? Was this some kind of trick by a wicked fox?

She propped herself up with her little arms and moved back, leaning against the small couch. Her little hands fidgeted, but she couldn't think of a solution.

Seeing Sui Sui's determined look, Xiao Jingzhao felt a strange emotion rising in his heart.

If it were any other child, he would have already threatened to hang them on a tree.

Faced with the adorable Sui Sui, Xiao Jingzhao suddenly felt that he had the patience of a loving father.

"You can at least tell me where you're from," Xiao Jingzhao said, unaware of how gentle his tone was.

"Sheng Sheng and I were watching the lion dance on the second floor of the teahouse when that big guy who can fly dragged me here." Sui Sui took a breath, her voice full of grievance.

"Don't be afraid. Where do you live? I'll take you home right away."

"I don't know the name of that alley. If you take me to the lion dance area, I can get back by myself."

Xiao Jingzhao: "..."

This child is too wary.

"Master, this..."

Just as Xiao Jing was at his wit's end, Xiang Song walked in.

Xiang Song was also very shocked to see Sui Sui.

He glanced at his master, then at Sui Sui, repeating this several times.

"They look so alike."

It turns out I misunderstood Xiangyang. If I were to see this child, I would also have to find a way to bring him to the young master. It's just that that fool's way of bringing people was too rough.

Xiang Song overheard the conversation between the two children and understood his master's meaning. He suggested, "Master, someone has reported to the yamen. If the child's family can't find him, they will be worried."

Upon hearing this, Sui Sui's eyes welled up with tears again. She raised her little face and rushed towards Song, saying, "Uncle, can you take me out? I'll cry if I can't find you."

Seeing that Sui Sui's eyes were red, Xiao Jingzhao's heart inexplicably clenched.

He waved his hand and said, "Fine, take Sui Sui to East Street and find the person named Sheng Sheng."

"His name is Shuisheng, and he's my friend."

Shengsheng is his nickname for Shuisheng; he doesn't want anyone else to call him that.

"Rest assured, Master, I understand." Xiang Song turned his back to Sui Sui and made a gesture to Xiao Jingzhao.

As soon as Sui Sui slid down from the small couch, Xiang Yang brought in a plate of fragrant pastries.

Xiangyang smiled ingratiatingly, "Young master, please try this freshly baked candied cake from the kitchen."

"Hmph! I won't eat it."

You bad guy! Who knows if you poisoned the pastries?

My mother said that I should not eat food given by strangers.

Sui Sui raised her chin and gave Xiang Yang a disdainful look.

As she reached the door, Sui Sui couldn't help but turn back and glance at the people inside.

This fox doesn't seem bad; if he smiled, he might even be a little cute.

"Goodbye, Uncle. Oh, goodbye." Sui Sui waved to Xiao Jingzhao with a bright smile.

Xiao Jingzhao's back stiffened, and he suppressed the urge to bring the child back to check on him again.

Watching Sui Sui turn away impatiently, he walked to the window and watched as the little figure was carried by Xiang Song and leaped onto the wall.
