Outside the bedchamber, several palace maids stood with their hands at their sides; they were all confidantes of Consort Lan.
They were well aware of the fact that Han Nu served the Imperial Concubine.
Han Nu would come to Yongchun Palace for anywhere from an hour to a whole night each time, and the palace maids who served him closely were already used to it.
Their duty is to stand guard outside and prevent anyone from going in and disturbing them.
Inside the bedchamber, the gauze curtains rippled as if blown by a spring breeze.
The two were like parched land receiving sweet rain, their necks entwined in tender embrace.
Han Nu was like a loyal servant, going through fire and water for her, obeying her every whim and letting the princess do whatever she wanted.
In a moment, they were like warriors on the battlefield, galloping on their horses, showing a momentum of becoming more and more courageous as they fought.
The room was bustling with activity.
Outside the palace, Mo Ziyan rushed over and saw the palace maids standing outside the bedchamber. He coldly reprimanded them, "Why are you all here! Who will serve Mother Consort?"
The palace maid dared not tell the truth that there were Han slaves serving in the inner palace.
They immediately knelt down in unison, saying, "Your Highness, please wait. Her Highness is retiring for the night. We servants are afraid of disturbing Her Highness, so we are all serving outside."
Mo Ziyan paused, "This... this is the time for bed!"
A quick-witted palace maid said, "The Imperial Concubine was worried about the war between Nanzhao and Wanling last night and couldn't sleep all night. She was tired after breakfast this morning."
The palace maid secretly glanced at Mo Ziyan's expression. "If Your Highness has nothing urgent, you may come to see Her Highness later."
Mo Ziyan hesitated for a moment, then said, "Never mind, I'll go to the front hall and wait until Mother wakes up before informing me."
The head maid gave a wink to the two maids beside her.
Two palace maids nodded slightly and followed after them with small, quick steps to serve them.
About half an hour later, the head maid estimated that things should be finished inside. After hesitating for a while, she gritted her teeth and turned to walk into the inner hall.
The palace maid stopped at the entrance of the bedchamber and listened intently, but there was no sound of passion coming from inside.
It was unclear what Han Nu was saying or doing, but the Imperial Concubine was heard laughing heartily, her voice cheerful and carefree, indicating that she was in a very good mood today.
The head palace maid coughed heavily and reported, "Your Highness, the Third Prince requests an audience."
