Chapter 32 Back to England

Everyone present noticed the sudden change in Jiang Jingchu's expression.

He had a cold face, and his eyes and eyebrows were as cold as ice. After a while, he uttered four words.

"Back to England?"

Song Yali didn't know why this gentleman suddenly became unhappy, and even had a hint of anger.

I said "hmm" cautiously.

"I took a leave last night and didn't come to the company today."

Fang Yicen didn't know why Song Yali suddenly brought this up. Just as he was about to explain, he saw Jiang Jingchu suddenly stand up and walk out without saying a word.

Ji Jingya didn't understand what was going on, and followed him out. However, she was wearing high heels and was not as tall or as long-legged as Jiang Jingchu. When she reached the company gate, she only saw a plume of car exhaust.

Jiang Jingchu stepped on the accelerator and called Qin Huan while driving. The only response was a mechanical female voice.

"Sorry, the number you dialed is turned off."

Jiang Jingchu was furious, veins in his temples were throbbing, and he gritted his teeth and slammed his phone on the seat.

Five years later, he experienced that kind of collapse again.

That feeling of being powerless and abandoned by the whole world.

He drove all the way to the airport at full speed. After arriving, he stood in the crowded airport hall, his hands on his knees, breathing heavily, feeling dizzy...

When Qin Huan arrived in England, Yi Yi was still sleeping soundly.

When Qin Huan touched Yi Yi's chubby little face with her own hands, she felt like her heart was about to melt.

She sat by the bed and silently looked at the pink little baby, kissing her face and forehead.

After being bored enough, he turned on his phone, which showed more than 30 missed calls, all from Jiang Jingchu.

Qin Huan felt something strange in her mind. After thinking about it, she didn't call back and simply deleted the missed call record.

In the morning, when Yi Yi woke up, she saw Qin Huan sitting at the dining table waiting for her and thought she was dreaming.

He rubbed his eyes, opened them again, then opened his arms and flew towards Qin Huan.

"Mommy, Mommy."

Qin Huan smiled and caught Yi Yi, holding her in her arms and kissing her hard.

"Good morning, Mommy's little Yi Yi."

Yi Yi's furry hair brushed against Qin Huan's chin, feeling itchy and fragrant.

After staying in Qin Huan's arms for a long time, she raised her little face,

"Mommy, are you going to send me to kindergarten today?"

Qin Huan said "hmm".

"Of course I will."

Yiyi immediately shook her head with joy.

"Now the child will never say mommy doesn't want me anymore."

Qin Huan felt a pang of sadness when she heard this and tapped Yi Yi's nose.

"Yiyi is so cute, no one would be willing to give you up."

Yiyi blinked her eyes that looked exactly like Jiang Jingchu's.

"Then why doesn't Dad want me? Doesn't he think Yi Yi is cute?"

Qin Huan was momentarily stunned by the question.

"How could that be? Dad just didn't know there was Yi Yi in this world."

"Eh? Then Mommy, you have to tell Daddy quickly, otherwise Daddy will be so pitiful. He won't even know that he has a cute baby like me."

Qin Huan was amused by Yi Yi's serious childish words and laughed out loud.

After laughing, he rested his chin on Yi Yi's head.

"Yi Yi is so cute. What if Dad falls in love with her the first time he sees her and secretly steals Yi Yi away from Mommy?"

Yi Yi seemed to understand, but not quite.

"Why steal it? Can't Daddy live with Yi Yi and Mommy?"

Seeing that Qin Huan didn't speak for a long time, Yi Yi blinked her round eyes and thought for a while, then suddenly said "Oh" with a long tail tone.

"Yiyi knows. Mommy and Daddy are divorced, right? Eric said that if Daddy and Mommy divorced, they wouldn't live together."

Qin Huan thought, they have never been married, so how could there be a divorce?

She was overwhelmed by Yi Yi's questions one after another.

I don’t understand. We haven’t seen each other for just over a month. Why has Yi Yi become so talkative?

And he was so keen on discussing "Dad" with her, a word that was almost unfamiliar to her.

At this time, Ruiya came over with breakfast.

She explained to Qin Huan with a smile that it might be because when she was sending Yi Yi to school before, she saw a father carrying his child high on his shoulders.

This triggered her curiosity about "Dad", a member that every normal family has.

The moment Qin Huan decided to give birth to Yi Yi, she was already prepared to be a single mother.

She believed that as long as she treated Yi Yi well enough and gave her twice as much care as other children, Yi Yi would grow up healthily like children from normal families.

But she ignored the fatal attraction of the word "Dad" to children.

That is a role that can never be replaced by anyone due to genes, blood ties, and even psychological emotions.

Qin Huan was confused for a moment. She suddenly thought of Jiang Jingchu. How would he react if he knew that she had a daughter this big?

Maybe he would be very happy and would fight with her for custody without hesitation.

He might also be very resistant, thinking that this child who ran away inexplicably would affect his marriage with Ji Jingya.

No matter what, Qin Huan could not accept either of these two results.

Her idea of letting Yi Yi meet Jiang Jingchu had just begun to emerge when it was nipped in the bud.

After breakfast, Yi Yi happily held Qin Huan's hand and walked to school with a proud look on her face. Before entering the school gate, she specifically asked Qin Huan,

"Mommy, will you pick me up tonight?"

Qin Huan nodded, "Of course."

Yiyi was so happy that she jumped a few times on the spot.

"That's great. Uncle Wenli will come to pick Yiyi up from school in the evening. Uncle Wenli said he would take me out for some delicious food.

Mommy, Yiyi will tell Uncle Wenli later to ask him to treat you to a meal as well, okay?"

Qin Huan smiled and answered yes.

After returning home, I asked Ruiya and found out that Yi Yi had a dispute with her classmates that day, and Wen Li went to school in person to help resolve it.

These days, as long as I have time, I will basically go to the school to pick up Yi Yi after school.

Qin Huan felt even more indebted to Wen Li.

After thinking about it, I took the initiative to call Wen Li.

The two met at a cafe.

Qin Huan arrived earlier than Wen Li.

She sat by the window and soon saw a tall and handsome figure walking towards the coffee shop.

He seemed to have come directly from the company. He was wearing a white shirt with a suit jacket casually draped over his arm.

A pair of gold-rimmed glasses on his nose made him look elegant and refined.

From a distance, Wen Li noticed Qin Huan, curled his lips at her, then walked into the gate and came to Qin Huan.

"Have you been waiting long?"

Wen Li said as he put his suit jacket on the back of the chair.

Qin Huan shook her head.

"I just arrived not long ago."

"That's good."

Wen Li called the waiter, ordered a latte for himself, and selected a few snacks that Qin Huan liked. Then he looked up and looked at Qin Huan carefully.

"Why did you suddenly think of coming back?"

Qin Huan smiled.

"I miss Yi Yi."

Wen Li smiled,

"That's right. This is the first time you've been separated from Yi Yi for so long since she was born."

Qin Huan nodded.

"I was originally planning to come back to see her after a while, but suddenly I felt like I couldn't bear it for a day, so I decided to take a leave of absence. Will Mr. Wen blame me for being too willful?"

When Wen Li heard this, a hint of fondness flashed across his gentle eyes.

"How could that be? Here, you can do whatever you want."

The smile on Qin Huan's face froze and she looked away uncomfortably.

Wen Li knew that Qin Huan was sensitive to his advances towards her, so he changed the subject subtly.

"Are you not used to it after returning to China? Why do you seem to have lost a lot of weight?"

Qin Huan did not mention the "accidents" that had happened to her one after another, and pretended to be depressed.

"Didn't Director Fang tell you that I'm forced to work overtime every day?"

Wen Li smiled and replied,

"That's not true. He just told me that you're very efficient at work, but you're a little cold and don't communicate much with your colleagues."

Qin Huan curled her lips and narrowed her eyes.

"I've always been like this. This isn't the first day you've known me."

Wen Li looked at Qin Huan's lowered face and resisted the urge to tuck her hair behind her ears.

"Qin Huan, you could try making more friends. Your circle is too monotonous. Living in the same routine every day, don't you feel a lack of things?"

Qin Huan didn't think so. She felt that she was doing fine now. She didn't need to flatter anyone and could just concentrate on doing her job well.

"Don't talk about me. I asked you out today because I wanted to thank you. I'm away from the UK. Yi Yi is lucky to have you to help take care of her."

As she spoke, she took out an exquisite gift box and pushed it in front of Wen Li.

This is a watch I picked out specifically for Wen Li at the mall just now.

Wen Li sat quietly, his dark eyes fixed on Qin Huan through the lenses.

"Qin Huan, your repeated thanks to me for Yi Yi make me feel like you're deliberately distancing yourself from our relationship."

Qin Huan was struck by what she heard. Her hand unconsciously stirred the coffee in the cup, breaking up the lovely tulip latte art on top and blending it into milky white ripples.

"Wen Li, before I returned home last time, I told you that I have no intention of starting a relationship at the moment."

“Now, I still think so.”
