Chapter 62 Cold and Fever

When Dr. Lin and Gao Fei arrived, Jiang Jingchu had just found a fever-reducing patch and put it on Qin Huan's forehead.

Gao Fei stood in the living room, automatically avoiding suspicion.

I heard Jiang Jingchu describing Qin Huan's symptoms to Dr. Lin.

"Yes, it was 39.8 degrees when I took the test just now."

"I haven't taken any medicine yet. I don't know what's going on, so I don't dare give it to her rashly."

"Are you sure it's just a common cold and there's nothing else going on?"

"Then you can give her the left hand. Wait, turn around and let me take her hand out."

Gao Fei's eyelids slowly drooped, and just as he was about to close his eyes, he heard Jiang Jingchu calling him.

"Gao Fei!"

Gao Fei was shocked, patted the flesh on his cheek, and walked to the bedroom door with all his energy.

"What's the matter, Mr. Jiang?"

Jiang Jingchu's eyes were fixed on the figure with the bulging chest from beginning to end without turning his head.

"Send Dr. Lin home, and come directly here to pick me up and take me to the company tomorrow morning."

"By the way, please prepare a change of clothes for me, and also a set of daily necessities."

Gao Fei, "Yes."

After walking a few steps, he turned back.

"Mr. Jiang, we don't have any special plans for tomorrow. Miss Qin has a high fever, so it's best if she doesn't leave anyone around. How about I bring the official business that needs your attention over here, and you can handle it here with Miss Qin?"

Jiang Jingchu was stunned for a moment when he heard this, and turned back to look at Gao Fei who was serious.

"Just do it your way."

After Gao Fei and Dr. Lin left, Jiang Jingchu gave Qin Huan a cup of warm water, sat beside her bed, and looked at her quietly.

She seemed unhappy even in her sleep, with her brows tightly furrowed.

Jiang Jingchu reached out and rubbed her brow, and his eyes sank slightly when he glanced at the faint scar at the end of her eyebrow.

Just as he was about to pull his hand back, Qin Huan grabbed it and rubbed it against his cheek.

"grandmother…"

Qin Huan called out softly in her sleep.

Jiang Jingchu laughed and coaxed him softly.

"Wrong name, I'm your brother Jingchu."

"Brother Jingchu..."

Unexpectedly, Qin Huan actually screamed out. Jiang Jingchu's heart softened, thinking that she was probably not conscious at the moment, and he wanted to tease her.

Take out your phone and turn on the camera.

Scratched the bridge of her nose.

"Be good, call me husband again."

Qin Huan wrinkled her face and turned over.

"You are not my husband."

Jiang Jingchu's face darkened, and he followed Qin Huan to the other side of the bed, looking a little fierce.

"Tell me, if I'm not your husband, then who is your husband?"

Qin Huan curled her lips, as if she was about to cry, her voice was soft and she sounded very aggrieved.

"You are Ji Jingya's husband."

Jiang Jingchu didn't expect Qin Huan to suddenly say this. He was stunned for two seconds, and his heart suddenly felt sweet and sour.

He stroked Qin Huan's hair.

"If you care so much about it, why do you pretend like you don't care, huh?"

Qin Huan didn't respond to him this time, and her breathing gradually became regular.

Jiang Jingchu sighed deeply and rested his chin lightly on Qin Huan's head.

Qin Huan woke up once in the middle of the night.

I feel a lot more relaxed and my headache isn't as painful anymore.

My lips felt dry, so I thought of drinking some water. I moved around and found Jiang Jingchu sleeping next to me, half leaning against the headboard.

His thick brows were furrowed, as if he was not sleeping well. Sensing Qin Huan's movement, he subconsciously patted her shoulder as if to comfort her.

Qin Huan was not confused by the fever, and she had some recollection of opening the door for Jiang Jingchu.

Thinking back to when I returned to China, it seemed like every time I was sick or something happened, Jiang Jingchu was always by my side.

He even secretly punished all those who bullied her.

Qin Huan suddenly felt a little unsure.

Is it really just revenge that he is pestering me like this?

However, apart from using YJ Company to force her to return to the UK, he did not seem to have done anything to hurt her.

If it's not revenge, then what is it?

Want to reconcile with her?

Qin Huan didn't think so. After all, Yuan Mei had said in person that his marriage with Ji Jingya was already on the agenda.

Qin Huan really couldn't figure it out, so she silently stared at Jiang Jingchu's sleeping face in the darkness until she fell asleep again.

The next day, when the sky was bright, Qin Huan woke up to the aroma of porridge.

She got out of bed and walked to the kitchen door following the smell of porridge.

I saw Jiang Jingchu slightly hunching his back, stirring the casserole gently with a spoon.

Jiang Jingchu is tall and has long legs, which makes the already small kitchen seem even more cramped.

Qin Huan felt inexplicably funny and leaned against the door frame with the corners of her mouth slightly raised.

Jiang Jingchu turned around when he heard the noise, just in time to meet Qin Huan's smile, which she couldn't retract in time.

The eyebrows also curved,

"woke up?"

He took a step forward and naturally reached out his hand to touch her forehead.

"Why is it still a little hot?"

He took her hand and led her to the living room. He took the thermometer with familiarity, shook it, and handed it to Qin Huan.

"Take another test."

Qin Huan didn't say a word the whole time, just staring at Jiang Jingchu walking around and busying himself for her.

"Why are you looking at me?"

Jiang Jingchu felt her gaze, laughed, and sat down on the sofa opposite Qin Huan, resting his elbows on his knees, looking at her in a ruffian manner.

"Why, are you touched by how much I take care of you?"

Qin Huan said "hmm".

"Thank you, last night, and before."

Jiang Jingchu had long been accustomed to Qin Huan's indifference and bad attitude towards him when she was sober.

He was a little uncomfortable for a moment when he suddenly heard Qin Huan being so polite to him.

"Thank you for what? I did all this just for your thanks."

"Then what are you doing this for?"

Qin Huan asked seriously.

Jiang Jingchu choked for a moment. The five words "I want to get back together with you" almost came out of his mouth, but he swallowed them back.

"Of course it's for Jinghe Bay. Didn't I tell you before that it's urgent? If you're too sick to work for a few days, the construction period will have to be postponed again."

"What about that incident at the bar? I heard that you gave those guys a hard time because of me."

Jiang Jingchu frowned slightly.

"Who told you that?"

Seeing that Qin Huan just stared at him without answering, Jiang Jingchu licked the corner of his lips with the tip of his tongue and smiled in a rogue manner.

"Who said it was for you? I just felt bad seeing a bunch of grown men bullying two women. Stop flattering yourself."

Qin Huan said "Oh" when she heard this, and at the same time she breathed a sigh of relief, a barely perceptible dimness flashed in her eyes.

"It's okay if it's not for me, Jiang Jingchu, don't be nice to me, I don't need it."

It's not worth it.

Jiang Jingchu felt a little uncomfortable when he heard Qin Huan act like she was afraid of owing others a favor.

"Who do you need then? The guy in the jacket from last night?"

Jiang Jingchu chuckled.

"Qin Huan, you're incredible! You dare to bring home a man you've only known for one night."

Qin Huan frowned and said nothing.

I wondered how he knew that I had just met Cheng Feng.

Jiang Jingchu didn't ask any further questions. He gestured for her to take out the thermometer and take a look. The temperature was 38.6 degrees, still a bit of a fever.

"Go wash up first. I'll get you some porridge."

When Gao Fei arrived with a bunch of things, Jiang Jingchu and Qin Huan had just finished breakfast.

Seeing Gao Fei piling all those things in her living room, Qin Huan's brows were obviously furrowed.

"What are these?"

Gao Fei put down the last bag of things, stood up, and looked at Qin Huan respectfully.

"It's Mr. Jiang's change of clothes, and some official business to be done today."

Qin Huan, "I see. What I mean is, why did you bring these to my house?"

Gao Fei glanced at his boss and saw that he pursed his lips tightly and turned his face to the side. He had no intention of speaking, so he could only explain with gritted teeth.

"Your cold symptoms are very severe. Doctor Lin came to see you last night and specifically told you that your condition is likely to recur, so you must have someone to take care of you, so..."

Doctor Lin had just gotten up at this time. He sneezed for no apparent reason and rubbed his nose. Could it be that he caught a cold from going out to see patients last night?

Take some powder immediately as a precaution.

"No need to take care of it."

Qin Huan looked at Jiang Jingchu,

"Last night's high fever was a special case. Even if it recurs later, it will be a mild fever. I can handle it myself."

Jiang Jingchu knew that Qin Huan would not easily agree to let him stay here.

He raised his chin towards Gao Fei.

"You don't need any care, right? Gao Fei, ask Dr. Lin to come over and give her another shot."

"Hey, Jiang Jingchu!"

Qin Huan quickly stopped Gao Fei from dialing the phone.

"Just take some medicine for a mild fever, no need for injections."

Qin Huan is afraid of injections. She usually has minor colds and would rather take a lot of medicine than get an injection as long as her body can handle it.

Jiang Jingchu curled his lips.

"If you don't want the injection, just listen to me. I'm just taking care of you. I won't do anything to you. I don't know what you're worried about all day long."

After saying that, he winked at Gao Fei.

"Go ahead and get busy. You're not needed here for now."
