Chapter 67 Don’t Be a Light Bulb

Jiang Jingchu slept for half an hour and when he woke up, his eyes were still a little blurry.

Seeing a slim figure standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, the corners of his mouth couldn't help but curl up.

I wanted to look at it for a while longer, but suddenly realized something was wrong.

He rubbed his temples, and his eyes gradually became deep.

"Why is it you?"

Ji Jingya turned around and smiled playfully.

"Are you awake? I think you slept pretty well today."

Jiang Jingchu didn't respond to her. He sat up and looked around. Not seeing the person he wanted to see, his face darkened and he took out his cell phone to make a call.

"Are you looking for Team Leader Qin?"

Ji Jingya came over,

"She said she was going out for a walk and would come back later."

Only then did Jiang Jingchu notice that her notebook was still on the coffee table.

He felt a little relieved and pinched his eyebrows.

"When did you come? Why didn't anyone outside inform you?"

Ji Jingya smiled and helped him open the takeaway box from Fulinji.

"I just happened to come up and saw them bringing your food in, so I volunteered. You won't blame me, will you?"

Jiang Jingchu frowned slightly.

"Don't open it yet. Once the heat dissipates, she won't want to eat it anymore."

When Ji Jingya heard this, her hand holding the thermos box froze for a moment, and she looked at Jiang Jingchu with some apology.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know this was for Team Leader Qin. She might have seen me coming, so she left. Why don't you give her a call right away?"

Jiang Jingchu's phone had already been dialed, and it rang for a long time before it was picked up.

"Where have you been? The food is here, come and eat."

Qin Huan was wandering around at this time.

"I've already eaten. You can eat with Miss Ji."

"Also, if you really don't have time today, we can postpone it to a few days later and make an appointment when you are free."

Jiang Jingchu's expression became more and more unsightly as she spoke.

"You seem to be quite good at this, coming and going as you please, never saying hello to anyone."

Qin Huan paused for a moment.

"I saw Miss Ji coming over and you fell asleep again, so..."

"So you left without a word to make room for us?"

Jiang Jingchu's voice was as cold as ice.

"I'll give you ten minutes. Come quickly, or I won't know when I'll have time again."

After Jiang Jingchu hung up the phone, the anger between his eyebrows had not dissipated.

Ji Jingya had witnessed Jiang Jingchu's possessiveness towards Qin Huan. When she learned that she had returned to England, she was filled with anger and lost all her rationality.

And now, she was only away for half an hour, and he looked like he was afraid she would disappear.

She didn't know what had happened between Jiang Jingchu and Qin Huan, but she had a hunch that Jiang Jingchu felt extremely insecure about Qin Huan.

Thinking of this, she tried her best to maintain her expression.

"Hasn't she already eaten? You should eat something quickly, too, or you'll have a stomachache again later."

Jiang Jingchu glanced at the box of Fulinji and lost all appetite.

Waved his hands,

"Just leave it there. I don't want to eat it now."

Ji Jingya wanted to persuade her again, but seeing that Jiang Jingchu had already sat back in his office chair and started handling official business, with no intention of paying any attention to her, her eyes dimmed a little, and she swallowed the words that were on the tip of her tongue.

"I came here today to confirm with you that on Han Xian's wedding day, you and I will still be attending the banquet together, right?"

After all, they haven't canceled their engagement yet, and in the eyes of outsiders, they are still an engaged couple.

"Well, I'll pick you up at your house then, by the way."

When he said this, he suddenly remembered something and took out a gift box from the cabinet.

"This is the dress my mother ordered for you. Go back and try it on. If you like it, you can wear this one when the time comes."

Ji Jingya recognized the logo on the packaging box and knew that it was a century-old store. The price of custom-making any piece of clothing there would start at seven figures.

It wasn't that she needed those expensive clothes, but she felt that Yuan Mei really cared about her.

Her lost mood was relieved and Ji Jingya smiled understandingly.

"Then you go ahead and do your work. I'll come see you another day."

After saying that, he carried the gift box out of the office.

As luck would have it, when I entered the president's special elevator, I ran into Qin Huan coming out of the staff elevator.

The two passed each other, and Qin Huan nodded politely to Ji Jingya. Ji Jingya raised her chin high, with a meaningful smile on her lips.

Only after the door of the elevator that Ji Jingya was riding in closed completely did Qin Huan turn around and walk towards the general manager's office.

She was sharp-eyed and recognized the gift box in Ji Jingya's hand. It probably contained the bean paste-colored skirt.

It came from the clothing store in the alley and was a gift from Yuan Mei to her future daughter-in-law.

When Qin Huan knocked on the door again and entered Jiang Jingchu's office, Jiang Jingchu was getting angry at the assistant inside.

"I can't even do my job properly, so I'm going to resign and don't need to come to the office starting tomorrow!"

After hanging up the phone, he looked up and saw Qin Huan standing at the door. He didn't know whether he should come in or not, and his anger was still there.

"What are you standing there for? Waiting for me to invite you in?"

Qin Huan didn't know why she went downstairs to walk around, but Jiang Jingchu suddenly became so angry and frowned.

"You are in a bad mood, why are you angry with me?"

Jiang Jingchu sneered,

"Who am I in a bad mood because of?"

Qin Huan walked towards the sofa.

"Have I done something wrong? Your fiancée came here to give you a loving meal, and I refused to leave and stayed here as a light bulb?"

Jiang Jingchu stood up and put his hands on the desk.

"If I don't let you go, who dares to say you're a light bulb?"

Qin Huan made a "tsk" sound.

"Do I need anyone to tell me? I can't even be self-aware!"

Jiang Jingchu's face was filled with anger, but his tone was restrained.

"Qin Huan, remember I told you last time that I had no intention of marrying Ji Jingya. Didn't you understand?"

Qin Huan curled up the fingers hanging at her sides.

"You mean you have no intention of marrying her for the time being, not that you have absolutely no intention of marrying her."

Jiang Jingchu was so angry that he laughed. He walked around the desk and came to Qin Huan, looking at her sideways.

"Is there any difference? There is none now, and there will certainly be none in the future."

Qin Huan turned her face away, avoiding Jiang Jingchu's gaze.

"Whatever. I made it very clear last time. It has nothing to do with me."

The two were on the verge of a fight when Gao Fei knocked on the door outside.

"Boss Jiang, the afternoon meeting will officially begin in five minutes."

Jiang Jingchu's back teeth were clattering. He had never won an argument with Qin Huan in his life.

"Okay, wait here obediently this afternoon. We'll continue when I'm done."

After saying that, he grabbed the coat on the office chair and strode out.

Gao Fei was waiting outside the door. When he saw Jiang Jingchu coming out with a sullen face, his heart tightened and he quickly followed him to the meeting room.

Before entering the meeting room, Jiang Jingchu tilted his head and gave Gao Fei a warning look.

"Keep an eye on her. If she slips away quietly again, you won't be able to hold your position as special assistant anymore."

Gao Fei's face turned grim when he heard this. Although he didn't understand the specific reason, he immediately obeyed the order.

"Don't worry, Mr. Jiang, I'll go over and guard it myself later."

Gao Fei finally breathed a sigh of relief after seeing Jiang Jingchu enter the meeting room.

On the way back to the general manager's office, Erzhu stopped him with a sad face.

"Assistant Gao, could you please ask Mr. Jiang for mercy on my behalf? I really know I was wrong."

Gao Fei glanced at the other person and intuitively felt that this person was the culprit who caused Jiang Jingchu to lose his temper.

"What did you do?"

The second assistant's face fell.

"Boss Jiang asked me to take the order. When the food was delivered, Miss Ji happened to come over. She said she would help take it in, so I didn't stop her, and then..."

Gao Fei secretly breathed a sigh of relief when he heard this.

"And what?"

Ersuke couldn't hold back his tears any longer and started crying.

"Then Miss Qin, who was in Mr. Jiang's office before, came out. Then, Mr. Jiang got really angry and told me to resign and not to come to the company tomorrow."

After hearing this, Gao Fei almost understood everything.

"Okay, stop crying."

As soon as Erzhu stopped crying, he looked at Gao Fei with tears in his eyes.

"Assistant Gao, have you thought of a way to help me?"

Gao Fei took a deep breath.

"What can I do? I can't even take care of myself right now!"
