Chapter 93 The Truth Comes to Light

When Qin Huan returned home from get off work, the first thing she saw was the flickering candlelight all over the room.

Following the candlelight, I saw rose petals covering the ground, and the fragrance of roses was everywhere.

Qin Huan raised the corner of her mouth slightly and called out "Jiang Jingchu".

No one answered from inside the house.

Qin Huan's smile deepened, and she walked carefully on the roses to the living room. She glanced around, but did not see the expected figure.

"Where are you hiding? The bedroom? I'm coming in."

Qin Huan deliberately walked lightly and opened the door, but still couldn't find Jiang Jingchu.

It's strange. The family is so romantic but the person is not there. It doesn't make sense.

Qin Huan thought about it, ran to the balcony again, looked around the restaurant, and finally her eyes stopped at the cloakroom, and her eyes moved slightly.

I gently pushed the door open and saw a figure sitting quietly on the sofa.

"Hey! I found you!"

Qin Huan smiled, bent down, hugged Jiang Jingchu's neck, and slapped him hard on the face.

"Why are you hiding here?"

Normally, if Qin Huan took the initiative to kiss Jiang Jingchu, Jiang Jingchu would definitely hold her and deepen the kiss.

But at this moment, he just turned his head calmly and looked at Qin Huan calmly.

"Are you back?"

Qin Huan finally noticed that something was wrong with him. She walked in front of him, squatted down and looked at him at eye level.

"What’s wrong with you?"

Jiang Jingchu spread out his palms and laughed at himself.

"I just overheard something and I don't quite understand some of it. Qin Huan, could you explain it to me?"

When Qin Huan's eyes slowly moved to the black recorder in Jiang Jingchu's hand, her pupils shrank sharply.

She originally kept this recorder simply to use it to resist Yuan Mei's threats to her.

Unexpectedly, Jiang Jingchu overheard it accidentally.

Qin Huan pursed her lips.

"You, what don't you understand?"

Jiang Jingchu looked calm, and if you looked closely, he seemed a little depressed.

"I want to know what role my mother played in our breakup?"

She sighed.

"My mother lost five million gambling, and my aunt lent her the money on the condition that I break up with you."

The matter that had been concealed for five years, every time Qin Huan thought about it, her internal organs would churn with pain, but now that she actually said it out loud, it was not as painful as she had imagined.

When Jiang Jingchu heard Qin Huan's calm admission, he felt as if his heart was suddenly stabbed by a sharp knife, and the pain was so severe that he even stopped breathing.

Jiang Jingchu thought of countless reasons why Qin Huan had to separate from him, but the only one he hadn't thought of was Yuan Mei.

After all, during the time he was in love with Qin Huan, Yuan Mei was always out of town, and he never mentioned Qin Huan's name in front of her.

He really couldn't imagine how Yuan Mei discovered their relationship and bullied Qin Huan to this extent without his knowledge.

Enduring the intense pain in his heart, Jiang Jingchu's pupils finally focused and he looked into Qin Huan's eyes.

"So, Wen Li was just a show you put on for me to get rid of me?"

Qin Huan curled her fingers that were resting on Jiang Jingchu's knee.

"At that time, I broke up with you more than once, but you always refused. Later, the debt collectors came to our house and made a scene. Grandma..."

When Qin Huan said this, she choked up slightly, and a hint of sadness appeared on her face.

"Grandma was so angry that she had a heart attack. She died in the hospital that night despite failed rescue efforts. My mom was desperate and begged me desperately, so I could only think of a way to get away from you as quickly as possible."

After Qin Huan finished speaking, she felt extremely heartbroken. She found Jiang Jingchu's hand and held it.

"I'm sorry, Jiang Jingchu. I've blamed myself all these years. I shouldn't have chosen the method that hurt you the most."

Jiang Jingchu raised his head, and after a while, he chuckled. From Qin Huan's perspective, she saw his firm Adam's apple roll, and a crystal seemed to pass through the corner of his eye, then disappeared into his temples in the blink of an eye.

"Tell me you're sorry, Qin Huan, you might as well just stab me in the heart with a knife."

He gritted his teeth, recalling the moment when the ashtray hit Qin Huan's forehead hard, and his heart ached beyond words.

He lowered his head, gently cupped Qin Huan's cheek, and stroked the scar at the end of her eyebrow.

"Why didn't you tell me then? You didn't believe me, huh?"

Qin Huan shook her head, looked at Jiang Jingchu's moist eyes, and a self-deprecating smile appeared on the corner of her mouth.

"How can I have the nerve to tell you this? Do you think I'm going to have to borrow money from you again and again just because of my gambling mom?"

Jiang Jingchu looked at Qin Huan seriously. If it were five years ago, he would definitely reply to her. Why not? I have plenty of money. Even if your mother loses five million a day, I can afford it.

But now, he couldn't say it.

He knew Qin Huan too well. She had always been so arrogant. Back then, because he gave her mother some money in private, she was so angry that she broke up with him.

So how could she take the initiative to help her mother fill the gambling hole?

Qin Huan didn't notice the obscurity in Jiang Jingchu's eyes and smiled at herself.

"You know what? The place where Auntie asked me to talk was in the coffee shop across from the Jiang Group. She pointed at the Jiang Group skyscraper and told me that you are destined to be in charge of the entire Jiang Group in the future."

"When I saw that building, it shone so brightly in the sunlight. Just like you, it was destined to be admired only by ordinary people like us from afar. Jiang Jingchu, we were indeed worlds apart back then."

After Jiang Jingchu heard this, his heart ached.

Yuan Mei is worthy of being a person who has been immersed in the world of fame and fortune for many years.

She was good at seeing through people's hearts and knew how to find their weaknesses, so she took her directly to Jiang Group, letting Qin Huan see with her own eyes the gap between her and Jiang Jingchu, and finally, defeating the enemy with one move.

Jiang Jingchu finally knew all the truth. He laughed twice, and lowered the corners of his lips.

"Qin Huan, now that I hear that, I'd rather you really had fallen in love with someone else."

I could feel the deep remorse in Jiang Jingchu's tone.

Qin Huan put her arms around Jiang Jingchu's waist and lay her head on his lap.

"You are so good, how can I bear to fall in love with someone else."

Qin Huan has always been aloof. She never said such cheesy love words to Jiang Jingchu when she was in love with him. But now, she used them to comfort him. Jiang Jingchu's Adam's apple rolled.

He took something out of his trouser pocket and gently pushed it onto Qin Huan's fingers.

"Huan'er, give me a chance. I will treat you and Yiyi well for the rest of my life and make up for what I owe you and your mother a hundredfold, okay?"

Qin Huan felt a chill on her fingers. She lifted them up and saw a huge diamond emitting a dazzling light under the candlelight.

Old house.

Yuan Mei, wearing a high-heeled dress and high heels, walked deep into the courtyard.

From a distance, I saw a group of servants chasing a little girl and playing in the garden.

The old man and the old lady sat on two rattan chairs, looking at the little girl with loving and doting eyes.

As far as he could remember, there didn't seem to be any children of this age among his relatives, so Yuan Mei suppressed his doubts and walked over.

"Dad, Mom."

The old man said "hmm" lightly, his eyes always following the little girl, without even looking at her.

The old lady responded to her perfunctorily and pointed at the little girl not far away and smiled.

"Look at your granddaughter, she's so cute and sweet. Your dad and I have been enjoying life these past few days."

"My granddaughter?"

A hint of a crack appeared on Yuan Mei's usually calm and composed face, and he wondered if the old lady had become senile and confused.

Remembering the reason why he came here, Yuan Mei coughed.

"Mom, I came here today because of Qin Huan's matter. Xiaochu is confused, and we can't be confused with him."

Hearing this, the old lady finally withdrew her gaze and glanced at her indifferently.

"Jingchu and her have already obtained the certificate, what else can you do?"

Yuan Mei pondered for a moment.

"Even if we get the certificate, we can still get a divorce. With his background and that of the Jiang family, how many noble ladies in North City would be lining up to marry him?"

The old lady took a sip of tea and spoke in a tone that was neither too strong nor too weak.

"So how are you going to get them divorced?"

Yuan Mei gritted his teeth.

"To be honest, I actually knew about Qin Huan five years ago. I only spent five million to separate her from Xiao Chu. Now, as long as she gives up her identity as Mrs. Jiang, I will pay any price."

The old lady always thought that Jiang Jingchu and Qin Huan broke up because of their own relationship problems, but now she knows that it was Yuan Mei who was behind it.

He was so angry that he slammed the teacup hard on the coffee table.

"Xiao Yuan, you're so confused! You think you didn't hurt Xiao Chu enough back then, and now you want to take away the last half of his life?"
