Chapter 34 Peach Blossoms Bloom, the Time Has Come
"Suddenly I heard the cry of a bird in the mountains, and saw a few marks on the snow."
The snow in Yuemu Town had begun to change with the arrival of spring, and the sparse willow trees behind the shop had begun to sprout tender leaves. Wen Ranqi had sold everything in the shop before leaving, and when he returned from Xueye City, he found only an empty house.
After February or March, they would head north, and the shop would remain closed. Qiqi would go out through the small back door every day. During the first few days after returning, there were a lot of misunderstandings. Some neighbors thought she was haunted, seeing a candlelight inside. Some even thought it was a thief and went hunting in the middle of the night with their weapons.
Later, they learned that Wen Ranqi had returned, and the people who had taken care of them, still remembering their old friendship, sent them food and supplies, so they didn't have to suffer from cold and hunger in the first few days.
Wan Ming found out about them half a month later and secretly sent some silver and warm clothes. Wen Shi's injuries healed a little, but his spirit remained unpredictable since that day, sometimes angry and sometimes dull.
Wan Ming delivered the things and left. Wen Ranqi and Qiqi huddled together in a tidied room for several months, keeping each other warm and snuggling up to each other, spending a sweet winter.
It was not until March when the flowers bloomed and the scent of spring became truly strong that Qiqi deposited the things he didn't need at the old lady's house next door, and packed the rest he needed and put them in the car. Wen Ranqi took a last look at this place, the place he saw the first time he woke up and the place he saw the last time he opened his eyes to leave.
He looked at Qiqi and said, "If you come back in the future, you should sell buns. The buns you make are better than the ones at the breakfast shop downstairs from my house." Qiqi smiled without saying anything. He sat outside the carriage and they headed north.
Even in March and April, there is still snow and winter wind in the north. The carriage is pressed on the snow that has not melted yet. From a distance, there are only a few rows of horse hoof prints and wheel tracks.
Wen Ranqi rejected Qiqi's kindness before leaving. Qiqi wanted to write a letter to inform Tana and ask her to help us reach the altar, but Wen Ranqi didn't want too many people to know this secret. Besides, the altar is a very sacred place for the Fire Tribe, and they should not let outsiders go there easily.
He understood Qiqi's worries, but he still didn't know the identity of the mysterious man. How could he go back? Could he really go back? He was leaving, but Qiqi knew he was leaving. What would Qiqi do? How could he face Qiqi? Would he leave Qiqi alone?
Wen Ranqi had a thousand thoughts in his mind. He held the glowing marble in his hand, and relying on the guidance of the marble, he and Qiqi walked alone on the vast grassland.
Yue Chi put on his cotton-padded jacket, felt hat, and fox scarf. His whole body was swollen. He stood outside the tent, still stamping his feet in the cold, and said anxiously, "Hurry up, hurry up, it's so cold."
A man dressed like him emerged from the tent. He was a little taller than Yue Chi, but he hadn't revealed his true face since they first met. At first, he wore a black outfit that covered his entire body, and now he wore a half-face mask day and night. But he knew his name: Mu Qi, the same name as Qi Qi.
At first, Yue Chi had his doubts about this man's relationship with Qiqi, but later he realized that Ci Muqi and Xi Muqi had completely different personalities and behaviors. This man was more mature and experienced, giving off the impression of being a mastermind. He and Qiqi were also different in age, and their martial arts skills were even more impressive. If he attacked, even Wen Shi would be defeated in just a few moves.
Yue Chi gave up his suspicion and just treated him as a master who was hiding his identity.
Mu Qi calmly lowered the tent curtain, stretched himself and said, "Don't worry, they still have a long time to arrive. It takes time, place and people to be right. There's no point in being anxious."
Yue Chi followed behind, leading the horse, and looked up at the sky. It was clearly a clear sky, so where did the strange phenomenon come from?
It was unexpected that Mu Qi could be with Yue Chi. Yue Huainan quickly brought Yue Chi back to the Yu Rou tribe and asked the best doctor in the tribe to treat Yue Chi's injuries, but the effect was not ideal. He was still bleeding and could not heal.
Yue Huainan was anxiously looking for a doctor everywhere, and accidentally met Mu Qi who was hunting and grilling in the forest. Yue Huainan was desperate and saw that Mu Qi was mysterious and cold, and he would not let anyone go. What if this person was a miraculous doctor who lived in seclusion in the mountains?
Mu Qi saw Yue Huainan was about to leave. He knew Yue Huainan. He hated Yue Huainan just like Yue Chi. He had no good feelings towards Yue Huainan at any time.
Yue Huainan looked dazed and haggard. He went to countless places to seek medical treatment for Yue Chi, looking for him day and night, without sleeping or eating much. He was really willing to give up his name for Yue Chi, but this love was too unbearable.
Yue Huainan pulled Mu Qi's clothes and begged, "Sir, sir, please help me. You must be a master who lives in seclusion in the mountains. Please give me a good prescription to save my son. Please."
Mu Qi had already told Yue Chi that life and death were in the hands of fate. He kicked Yue Huainan away, wanting to curse but unable to. He felt sorry for Yue Chi, a good man who had been turned into a walking corpse by Yue Huainan. "Sir, please save him! As long as you can save my son, I will agree to any condition you have. You can even take my life right now." How could Yue Huainan know that he could definitely save Yue Chi? He was now desperate and struggling to survive. He didn't know how many people he had promised this to.
Mu Qi sighed. Yue Huainan would give everything to save Yue Chi, so why didn’t he give Yue Chi the freedom he wanted most?
"Okay, then wait for me to agree to one condition."
"Sir, you said that I would agree to anything I can offer you."
"I want you to give Yue Chi freedom. No matter where he is in the future, no matter who he chooses to be with, whether it's making friends or falling in love, you can't interfere. You can only do your duty as a father. He will always be your son."
Yue Huainan was horrified. He did not ask why this person knew about his affair with Yue Chi. He just did not want to abandon Yue Chi and leave him. Mu Qi knew that Yue Huainan would rather Yue Chi die than let her go. He was hopeless.
Mu Qi had no choice but to leave. Yue Huainan gritted his teeth and knelt on the grass, shouting, "Sir, please stay. I agree to your request. As long as you can save my son, I will agree to your request. Sir, please save him!"
Yue Chi gradually regained consciousness under Mu Qi's treatment, and his wounds slowly healed. After more than two months of careful treatment, Yue Chi had almost recovered, but the injury on his shoulder prevented him from lifting his hand.
Yue Chi, who had recovered, was shameless and wanted to go north with Mu Qi. Yue Huainan agreed to Mu Qi's request and he had no choice but to let Yue Chi go and give him freedom.
Yue Chi and Mu Qi headed north and set up a tent not far outside the city of Mandar, waiting for the miracle that Yue Chi wanted to see.
Now that he is free, he plans to travel around the world and visit all the places he has never been to. He will finally go to Wan'er's grave and tell her about what he has seen and heard. He wants to accompany Wan'er from youth to old age. That is the lifelong promise between him and Wan'er.
