Chapter 19 Go find your daughter-in-law to improve your relationship.
“I know you’re against this marriage, but Yangyang is already married to you, so you have to treat her well.”
Qin Lan said earnestly, "Yangyang is a good child. You'll see how good she is once you spend more time with her."
The man opposite him sat casually on the sofa, his hand resting on his prominent brow bone, shielding him from the bright light. His eyelids drooped slightly in the shadows, his fingertips holding a blue teacup, swaying gently. He let the wisps of steam trace patterns in the air.
Seeing his expression, Qin Lan was furious: "Did you hear what I said?"
Ji Peiheng brought the teacup to his lips, inhaling the fragrant aroma of the tea: "I heard you."
Qin Lan's expression was somewhat complicated. Her youngest son had been outstanding since childhood, excelling in everything. He was a true prodigy, and she had always been very proud to have such a son.
However, there is also concern that although he seems carefree and unrestrained, he is actually very thoughtful and too stubborn.
She was afraid that one day he would hurt himself or others.
Qin Lan took a sip of tea to moisten her throat and sighed softly, "Why don't you and Yangyang have a child?"
Children can help maintain a relationship, and she genuinely hopes that Yangyang and he can have a good life together.
Ji Peiheng laughed: "Mom is so young and already wants to hold her grandson."
"Stop interrupting me. Your aunt already has a grandson, it's my turn next." Qin Lan retorted, "Let me tell you, a child is the bond that holds two people together. Even if you don't have feelings for each other, having a child will create feelings."
Seeing him get up,
Qin Lan glared at him: "I haven't finished speaking. Where are you going?"
Ji Peiheng picked up a bright green grape from the fruit plate, popped it into his mouth, and said leisurely, "Go find your daughter-in-law to improve your relationship."
...
It was the first time Shi Yang had ever held a baby. She held the baby stiffly in her arms, not daring to move, for fear of hurting him.
Mrs. Bai smiled and said, "You're too nervous. Babies aren't that fragile. Relax, Rongrong likes you very much. Look how well-behaved she is in your arms."
Shi Yang lowered her head, and the baby was also looking at her curiously. Its bright eyes were like two big crystal grapes, and its tiny fingers were playing with the hair on her shoulder, making giggle noises.
Her heart softened, and she gently patted his soft little body to soothe him.
"Rongrong, be good..."
When Ji Peiheng arrived, he saw this scene: a gentle woman holding a baby and soothing it softly, her face radiating tenderness and affection. She would occasionally lower her head and gently touch the baby's nose with the tip of her nose, making soft, murmuring soothing sounds. A sense of warmth and beauty emanated from her.
Ji Peiheng suddenly felt that having a child wasn't so bad after all.
"Pei Heng, where have you been? Why are you only just arriving?"
When Madam Bai called out, Shi Yang looked at him.
He was staring at her, his eyes unfocused, holding something she couldn't understand.
Ji Peiheng looked away: "I chatted with my mom for a bit."
Mrs. Bai said, "Rongrong really likes Yangyang, and Yangyang seems to really like children too. When are you two planning to have one?"
Shi Yang felt a little embarrassed. She had never thought about having children, and she felt that Ji Peiheng was the same.
Not knowing how to answer, she looked to Ji Peiheng for help.
Ji Peiheng caught her gaze and smiled, "My Yangyang is still young. Childbirth is too painful for me. I can't bear to do it."
Madam Bai smiled broadly: "Yes, yes, you young people have your own ideas, so I won't say any more."
Shi Yang suddenly felt a throbbing in her chest, and Xiao Rongrong's head was nuzzling against her chest, as if searching for something.
Ji Peiheng happened to see this, and his eyes darkened.
This kid, at such a young age, already knows where to sneak in.
He reached out and took the child from Shi Yang's arms.
Shi Yang was startled: "Be careful."
Ji Peiheng simply didn't want her to hold the child anymore, so he took it away, but he himself didn't know how to hold a child at all.
He held the child stiffly.
Just as he was thinking of putting the child in the cradle.
A surge of heat flowed into his palm, down his fingers to his wrist, and onto his expensive suit.
Ji Peiheng's brows furrowed in surprise, seemingly puzzled as well. But when he suddenly realized what was happening, his face turned as black as charcoal.
Everyone was chatting and no one noticed this small change.
Only Shi Yang saw it, and she opened her mouth wide: "He... looks like he peed."
Immediately, the baby started crying loudly.
Mrs. Bai was surprised for a moment and quickly picked up the baby and handed him to the nanny: "Go and take care of it quickly."
Shi Yang couldn't help but chuckle as she looked at the man who was frozen in place with a fascinating expression.
This was the first time I'd ever seen him look so disheveled, all because of a baby.
Madam Bai chuckled: "Pei Heng, I'll have someone take you downstairs to change your clothes."
Ji Peiheng went to change his clothes. Shi Yang wandered around the backyard alone.
The backyard is in the style of a Chinese garden. Along the winding bluestone path, a half-acre lotus pond comes into view. The blooming lotus flowers cover the entire pond, with layers of lotus leaves, and several koi carp leaping in the water, creating ripples.
Shi Yang was admiring the beautiful scenery and didn't notice the person coming from behind him.
Then a voice rang out from behind: "Yangyang, how have you been lately?"
Shi Yang's brows furrowed slightly, her eyes showing displeasure at being disturbed: "I'm doing better than you."
Shi Yue wasn't annoyed: "You're my sister, of course I'm happy that you're doing better than me."
Shi Yang didn't expose her hypocrisy, but gave her a mocking smile: "Then give me a smile."
Shi Yue stood beside her, gazing at the lush lotus flowers together: "Yangyang, do you know? I really like Ayu, I can't live without him."
Shi Yang: "I'm not a turtle in a wishing well, it won't do you any good if you make a wish to me."
Shi Yue sighed, "I thought you could understand what I meant, but it's a pity..."
Shi Yang said bluntly, "You're talking nonsense. Have you gone mad?"
Shi Yue gave a strange smile: "Yangyang, do you think if what happened eighteen years ago were to happen again today, would anyone still be able to find you?"
Shi Yang's expression froze, and his shoulders trembled almost imperceptibly.
A smug glint flashed in Shi Yue's eyes.
She knows best how to provoke her.
She knew what her inner demons were.
She was hitting her weak spot!
However, Shi Yang soon stopped crouching on the ground and crying in fear, unlike she had imagined.
The cool moonlight shone down, making her eyes shine brightly. Shi Yang took a step closer to her and raised his hand.
Shi Yue covered her face in disbelief: "You actually dared to hit me?"
Shi Yang said expressionlessly, "This slap was from Song Zhihua. Here you go."
"This slap is because you're too despicable, I can't stand the sight of you."
My wrist was caught in mid-air.
Ji Jinyu appeared out of nowhere, his face cold and stern: "What are you doing?"
Shi Yue felt as if she had seen a savior and burst into tears.
Shi Yang pulled her wrist back and shook it: "You hit me."
Ji Jinyu's chest heaved, clearly furious: "She's your sister!"
Shi Yang sneered: "Do you think I'm being unreasonable?"
Ji Jinyu: "Isn't that going too far?"
Seeing them again, Shi Yang felt as if a fire was burning in his chest.
Under Ji Jinyu's surprised gaze, she gave Shi Yue a hard shove.
With a thud.
Huge splashes of water rose in the lotus pond, lotus flowers were broken, and koi carp were frightened and fled in all directions.
