Chapter 113 is all rumors.
The man walking towards her was dressed in a suit and tie, holding a wine glass in one hand, with a gentle smile on his face.
He had a completely unfamiliar appearance.
"Who are you?"
The man said, "My name is Liang Jin. I'm also from No. 3 Middle School, but I'm a year ahead of you. You can call me senior."
"Oh, hello, senior."
Shi Yang had no recollection of the man in front of her and assumed he was also someone trying to curry favor with Ji Peiheng.
Liang Jin sat down next to her and raised his glass to her: "You're even more beautiful than before."
"Thank you." Shi Yang picked up her wine glass and clinked it against his.
The moment they clinked glasses, Shi Yang clearly felt his little finger brush against the edge of the back of her hand.
It was very light, but I could definitely feel it.
Shi Yang frowned and couldn't help but take another look at him. He had an ordinary appearance, with long bangs that drooped down from the side, covering one eye.
The other eye that was exposed was completely open and clear, making her wonder if she was mistaken.
"I heard that my junior and the second young master Ji have been married for less than a year and their relationship is very deep, which is enviable."
Shi Yang smiled but didn't say anything, turning his gaze back to the distance.
Clearly, he didn't want to communicate, but Liang Jin seemed oblivious: "Actually, I had a crush on you back then. Unfortunately, our love was too deep for each other and we missed our chance."
His words were full of regret.
Shi Yang's brows furrowed even deeper. Putting aside whether his words were true or false, she didn't know this person at all. This person knew she was married from the start, yet still said such presumptuous things, which made her feel deeply uncomfortable.
"Mr. Liang, I have something to attend to, so I'll be leaving now."
Liang Jin then said, "After all, we're old classmates, let's exchange contact information."
"Forget it, there's no need."
"Is your husband too controlling? Does he not allow you to add other men on WeChat?"
These words were already quite presumptuous, making her even more uncomfortable.
Somewhat impatiently: "I don't know you, and I don't think there's any need for us to know each other, so there's even less need to exchange contact information."
Liang Jin squinted, stubbornly extending his phone, and said jokingly, "Keep one, we'll get to know each other slowly."
The inexplicable coercion and presumption from a stranger gave her goosebumps.
"What are you dawdling over there for?" Lu Qingqing suddenly came over and pulled her in another direction: "There are cherry-flavored cakes over there, your favorite."
Shi Yang silently thanked Lu Qingqing for breaking the deadlock.
She glanced back at the sofa; Liang Jin was no longer there. She dismissed him as just another harasser and stopped paying attention.
Lu Qingqing is a playful person, and she played games with Shi Yang and a few of her girlfriends for a while. Shi Yang lost several rounds and was forced to drink as punishment.
After a few rounds of drinks, the game ended. Shi Yang had drunk quite a bit and leaned against Lu Qingqing, feeling drowsy.
Lu gently dragged her to an empty spot to sit down, saying with a hint of disdain, "You're so pathetic, you've only drunk so little."
Shi Yang grinned foolishly: "Again...again, I definitely won't lose the next round."
"Can you just shut up for a bit? If you keep playing like this, people will think you're being bullied."
After sitting with her for a while, Lu suddenly felt the urge to urinate: "I'm going to the toilet, you sit here and wait for me, okay?"
After using the restroom, Lu walked back feeling light and refreshed when her phone suddenly rang.
It was a call from a colleague.
Receiving a call from a colleague on your day off is not a good sign.
Between accepting and not accepting, she chose the former.
"Hello? Sister Yue, is there anything I can help you with?"
“Qingqing, my child is sick and there’s no one at home, so I have to go back to see my child. But I’m currently entertaining Mr. Meng. Could you come and cover for me for a while? My child really can’t wait.”
As she spoke, she became tearful. She knew about Yue's family situation; she was a single mother, which was quite difficult for her.
She was actually quite reluctant to agree, especially after the trauma of the last time; the mere thought of accompanying Meng Yaozhu to social events made her eyes go black.
"Qingqing, if you help me this time, I will repay you properly."
Having said all that, refusing now would seem unreasonable: "Fine, sis, send me your location."
Thank you so much.
As soon as the call ended, the location was sent; it wasn't far from her either.
Back in the banquet hall, Lu Qingqing explained to Shi Yang why she had to leave early, but Shi Yang was still dazed and clearly hadn't listened to much of what she was saying.
"Never mind, let your man come pick you up."
Lu Qingqing used her phone to contact Ji Peiheng and asked a close friend she had recently gotten along well to keep an eye on things.
Ji Peiheng was already at the entrance of the banquet hall when he received the call.
The moment she stepped inside, her tall figure, deep-set features, and unapproachable air of nobility immediately drew everyone's attention.
"Then...is that Ji Peiheng?"
One girl immediately swooned, saying, "He's so handsome! He looks like a male protagonist straight out of a manga!"
"I almost fainted when he looked at me."
"Look, isn't he walking towards Jiang Xueyan?"
Jiang Xueyan's eyes were filled with the man who was getting closer and closer to her. She could hardly breathe, and her heart was pounding violently.
She brushed a stray hair behind her ear and gave what she considered her most elegant and beautiful smile: "It's been so long..."
He stopped abruptly halfway through his sentence.
She watched helplessly as the man brushed past her and went behind her.
Jiang Xueyan turned around and saw Ji Peiheng stop in front of the sleeping woman on the sofa.
Everyone belatedly realized that he was actually looking for a wife.
Shi Yang was asleep when she felt someone calling her, and she turned her face away in annoyance.
Ji Peiheng couldn't help but chuckle, pinching her cheek with one hand. It felt smooth and soft: "Sleeping so soundly, you've really turned into a little pig."
His slender fingers moved to her full lips, pinched her upper and lower lips together, and pulled them outwards.
He didn't rush to call her anymore; Ji Peiheng lingered on her cheek, unable to tear himself away.
His little girl's features were all so adorable; he thoroughly enjoyed touching her.
While still asleep, Shi Yang felt that the person was getting increasingly out of line, pinching her cheeks one minute and scratching her nose the next. Her morning grumpiness exploded, and she raised her hand and swung it at him: "How annoying!"
With a "snap".
The sound was exceptionally crisp, and Ji Peiheng received a solid slap on the face.
Being beaten in front of so many people and losing face, everyone thought Ji Peiheng would be angry.
Who would have thought that the man who kept everyone at arm's length, looking at everyone like they were dogs, simply held the woman's hand in his palm and rubbed it gently, his voice as soft as water: "Did it hurt when you hit me so hard?"
Everyone stared in disbelief, their jaws practically agape. If the person hadn't been right in front of them, they would have thought that Young Master Ji had been possessed.
You look at me, I look at you, and the word "unbelievable" lingers in everyone's minds.
Who exactly said that Young Master Ji was forced to marry someone he didn't love at all?
It's all a rumor! It's all a rumor!
This is absolutely spoiling people to the core.
