Chapter 62 The Secret on the Note

Chapter 62 The Secret on the Note

Wen Wanwan loudly explained the game rules: "This game is called 'The Spy.' There are five magic cards on the table. Only one of them is 'Judgment,' and the rest are 'Ghost Face' cards. We draw cards randomly. Whoever draws the 'Ghost Face' card will either be assigned a task by the Judge or write down their secret on a slip of paper. Of course, only the Judge can see this secret! And of course, this secret must be genuine and something that no one else has ever known. Whether you receive a punishment or write down your secret is entirely up to the Judge."

Xie Ran raised an eyebrow: "Taiwanese girl, this game of yours seems to only benefit the judge. It's practically an unequal treaty."

Wen Wanwan put her hands on her hips and said, "We're all about the thrill. If you're too scared to play, just leave and don't bother us."

Xie Ran's competitive spirit was ignited, and he reached out to shuffle the cards: "Let's play, what's there to be afraid of?"

Xie Ran shuffled the cards in a few quick movements.

Holding five cards between her fingers, she went straight to Shi Yang and said, "Sister-in-law, you choose first."

Looking at the five cards facing down, Shi Yang silently prayed for a moment, then drew one from the middle.

When he saw the card depicting a ghost face, his face fell.

Wen Huairan said, "Judging from your expression, could you be a ghost mask?"

Ji Peiheng leaned closer and rested his chin on her shoulder: "Let me see."

Shi Yang turned the cards face down and hid them: "I won't let you see them!"

Ji Peiheng pinched her cheek: "You're so stingy!"

The others drew their cards one after another, but none of them looked well.

There was only one card left, which was handed to Ji Peiheng.

He glanced up, chuckled, and tossed the card onto the table; it was a judgment card.

Ji Peiheng didn't stand on ceremony at all. He raised his chin and gave Xie Ran a command: "Drink that bottle of foreign liquor on the table."

"Hey! I have a choice. I choose to write it as a secret."

I don't want to hear your secrets! Hurry up!

"Depend on!"

Xie Ran stood up, opened a whole bottle of new wine, and gulped it down.

Ji Peiheng showed no mercy, and the punishment he imposed on Wen Huai'an was no less severe than that imposed on Xie Ran.

Wen Huai'an smiled enigmatically: "Ji Er, this game has only just begun. You're already this ruthless right from the start. Aren't you afraid we'll retaliate later?"

Ji Peiheng scoffed fearlessly: "We'll talk when you get the trial results."

When it was Wen Wanwan's turn, she begged for mercy: "Brother Ji, please go easy on me."

Ji Peiheng asked her to sing a song.

Everyone knows that Wen Wanwan is tone-deaf and her singing voice sounds like it's been struck by lightning.

It's really tough on her!

Wen Wanwan glared at him, thinking to herself that she would have to do something to get the judge's certificate so that Ji Peiheng could write the secret.

Shi Yang didn't expect Ji Peiheng to go easy on her, and she was prepared. But to her surprise, Ji Peiheng said lazily, "Go! Write down a secret!"

Xie Ran was still struggling with a bottle of wine when he couldn't help but interject, "It's a real secret. You have to be playful, don't try to fool us."

Shi Yang picked up a pen, thought for a moment, and wrote down a secret.

The girl's neat and pretty handwriting read: "Once in middle school, I hid my test paper that I did very poorly on and told my family that I had lost it."

Ji Peiheng picked it up, glanced at it, and scoffed.

Shi Yang retorted, dissatisfied: "What's wrong? Doesn't this count?"

"Alright, alright, don't waste time, let's continue." Wen Wanwan hurriedly went to shuffle the cards.

Then, when no one was looking, they did something sneaky.

In this successful round, she became the judge and eagerly told Ji Peiheng, "I want you to write down a secret you've kept hidden for many years."

Ji Peiheng didn't say much, and quickly wrote a line.

Shi Yang's eyes had barely glanced over when he was caught red-handed.

"I want to see it, but we'll talk about it when you become the judge!"

Shi Yang turned his head away angrily, "Who wants to see this?"

Then Wen Wanwan exclaimed "Oh—" and looked at Ji Peiheng with an "Oh, so that's how it is" look.

Shi Yang was incredibly curious. What had he written?

Another round of games went by, and Wen Wanwan remained the judge.

Ji Peiheng was forced to write down another secret.

This time, Wen Wanwan reacted even more strongly, jumping up suddenly: "I knew it, I knew it, hahaha..."

Xie Ran tried to snatch the note when Wen Wanwan wasn't looking, but Wen Wanwan was on guard. She crumpled the note into a small ball and tossed it away, warning him, "Have some sportsmanship."

This group of people were itching to know what Ji Lao Er was writing.

Shi Yang's curiosity was piqued even more, and she couldn't help but ask, "What exactly did you write?"

"Want to know?" Ji Peiheng played with her little hand, kneading and rubbing it, pinching her soft finger bones.

"Uh-huh."

He drawled, "I'm not telling you—"

Shi Yang: "..."

According to Wen Wanwan's plan, she would be the person who knew the most secrets tonight, and her hand was just about to reach for the cards.

Ji Peiheng interrupted, "Wait! I'll choose first this time."

Wen Wanwan gritted her teeth.

After that, Ji Peiheng picked up that card before her for several rounds.

They forced these people to write secrets as punishment.

Wen Wanwan knew that this man had definitely discovered that she had tampered with things.

Just as Shi Yang was lamenting her terrible luck today, Wen Huai'an said coldly, "Something's not right. It's been either you or Wen Wanwan playing. You two must have cheated."

Shi Yang finally realized what was happening, her little face showing displeasure: "You're cheating!"

Ji Peiheng yawned and lazily tossed the cards aside: "I'm tired, I'm not playing anymore."

Wen Wanwan has achieved her goal: "That's right, I'm so tired, let's go home and sleep..."

Wen Huai'an said helplessly, "With these two people who are the most cunning, don't expect the game to be fair."

Shi Yang yawned; she was a little tired too.

As Shi Yang walked with Ji Peiheng to the car and they were about to get in, she suddenly reached into her pocket and said, "I forgot my phone."

She hurried back.

There were already waiters cleaning the private room.

Shi Yang picked up her phone on the sofa, turned around, and saw a waiter sweeping the floor. A small piece of paper rolled out from under the sofa.

Her heart skipped a beat. She picked up the note, turned her back, and opened it.

The note had a line written on it in a flamboyant, calligraphic style:

"Ten years of war and chaos concealed all my preferences and obsessions."

Thump, thump!

Shi Yang's heart was pounding in his throat.

When he first arrived, Wen Wanwan said something that seemed to imply that Ji Peiheng had a crush on a girl.

Everyone present had written secrets, and she wasn't sure if this was Ji Peiheng's note.

Moreover, he doesn't seem like the kind of person who would write such a thing.

But the handwriting is very similar.

With a mix of thoughts swirling in her mind, she swallowed hard and nervously slipped the note into her bag like a thief.

She even looked back, afraid that someone would see her little actions.
