Chapter 85 The "Birthday Gift" Shi Yue Gave Her
The door opened, and Shi Yang and the others walked in front.
Shi Yue was dragged in, looking disheveled.
The moment she saw Ji Jinyu, it was as if she had seen a savior: "Jinyu, save me—"
When Ji Jinyu saw that she was wrapped in a bed sheet with her limbs exposed, his eyes widened in fury: "Shi Yang! This is your sister! Are you crazy?"
Shi Yang glanced at him indifferently and made a "shh" gesture: "I hope you won't speak before I do."
Lu Qingqing smiled and took off her shoe, then shook it in her hand: "Big brother doesn't want his mouth stuffed with shoe soles, does he?"
Ji Jinyu remained silent for a moment.
He thought she would dare to do that.
"Shi Yang, what exactly do you want to do with me by bringing me here?" Shi Yue questioned.
Lu gently patted her face twice with the sole of her shoe: "Hehe, of course it's to expose the bad things you've done to the public."
"Where should we begin?"
Shi Yang said calmly, "Let's start from when I was seven years old."
Shi Yue looked surprised.
She saw her tilt her head and wink at her:
"That was a gift from my dear sister that I will never forget."
Shi Yue had never felt so panicked. Even when she was being forced to choke on water, she was angry but felt that Shi Yang was just venting his anger on her helplessness. The fact that she was torturing herself like this only showed how incompetent she was.
Shi Yue was so confident because she had once sworn that she would not dare to do it.
Now she was uncertain; she saw in Shi Yang's face a relentless determination to tear everything apart.
She could no longer remain calm and screamed, "Shi Yang! You swore an oath, you promised Mom and Dad, you swore before the Buddha that you would never tell the truth until you died, you promised me—"
"Ah—you dare say that! Don't say it!"
Lu gently covered her ears, then, unable to bear it any longer, shoved the sole of her shoe into her mouth: "Shut up! It's so noisy!"
After the screams subsided, Shi Yang's gaze drifted into the void, as if recalling many past events. Her clear, melodious voice rang out: "I am the second daughter of the Shi family. As far back as I can remember, my eldest sister always bullied me. She would throw me into the washing machine when our parents weren't home, and she would secretly throw lit firecrackers at me during the New Year's fireworks..."
Ji Peiheng's breathing became heavy. He remembered very clearly that there was a small, very faint mark on Shi Yangxue's fair back.
In a moment of passion, he hugged her from behind and asked her what happened. She said she was accidentally injured by firecrackers when she was a child.
Wen Wanwan couldn't help but ask, "What about your parents? Don't they care?"
Shi Yang shook her head: "There are three children in the family, and I am the least favored. They always protect Shi Yue, saying that she is still young and that I should not argue with my older sister."
She said a lot more, and the way everyone looked at Shi Yue changed.
She's still young? She's five years older than Shi Yang. If she's still young, then Shi Yang is even younger.
It's hard to imagine that Shi Yue, who was a child at the time, was capable of doing such heinous things.
Ji Jinyu was even more stunned; he had never known any of this.
Lu chuckled softly, "This is nothing."
"This is nothing compared to what happened later." Shi Yang chuckled and slowly said, "When I was seven years old, on my birthday, Shi Yue suddenly apologized to me in a gentle manner, saying that she shouldn't have treated me that way before, and that she had prepared an amusement park ticket for me as a birthday present."
She will always remember that the weather was beautiful that day. When they went out, the sunlight was so bright that they could hardly open their eyes. Twelve-year-old Shi Yue pulled her out of the house and took her to the amusement park.
However, in the blink of an eye, Shi Yue disappeared.
It was a weekend, and the amusement park was very crowded.
She clumsily weaved through the crowd, trying her best to find Shi Yue's figure.
But no, she found the sun setting when it was at its highest.
The number of people in the amusement park gradually decreased.
She cried until her face turned blue, calling out "sister" over and over again.
"Sister, where are you?"
"Sister, I was wrong, please don't abandon me."
"elder sister……"
As the park was about to close, she encountered something even more terrifying—she was being targeted by human traffickers.
Two unfamiliar adult men suddenly appeared in front of her, offering her ice cream and urging her to follow them.
Xiao Shiyang shook his head cautiously.
Until they said they could take her to find Shi Yue.
One of the men picked her up, took her out of the amusement park, and locked her in a warehouse.
"Where am I? Where is my sister?"
"Sister, you'd better pray you can get a good price."
She was so frightened that she cried, and slapped herself twice across the face: "Quiet down!"
They locked her in the warehouse and went to search for other children.
The warehouse was dark, the windows were all sealed with cement, and the boundless darkness enveloped her. She huddled up in a ball, shivering, and could even feel rats gnawing at her feet. Invisible insects rustled and crawled onto her body...
The next day, the traffickers returned, this time bringing back a boy who was a year older than her.
The boy kept crying and screaming, so the traffickers held him down and beat him.
The boy quickly spat out a mouthful of white foam, his body twitched, and then he stopped moving.
The trafficker belatedly checked his breathing: "Boss, he seems to have stopped breathing. He seems to have a congenital disease."
Another man angrily kicked the boy a few times: "Damn it, all my effort wasted."
Shi Yang witnessed everything from the corner; it was the first time she, at the age of seven, had ever looked directly at a dead person.
Her teeth were chattering, and a warm sensation came from her crotch.
Clearly, that boy was just talking and crying a moment ago, so why isn't he moving now?
Is this death...? Is he dead?
"Boss, this girl wet her pants," the trafficker said with a grin.
They pointed at the silent boy on the ground and warned the dirty girl in the corner: "See? If you don't listen, you'll end up like him."
They didn't take the boy with them when they left.
And so, she and the boy's body remained in the warehouse for three whole days.
The summer heat was stifling, and the entire warehouse was sealed off, preventing any breeze from getting in.
A strange smell emanated from the boy.
She even saw rats gnawing on his corpse.
Another day passed, and the traffickers returned. They ate meat and drank alcohol in the warehouse and gradually relaxed.
"Boss, things have been too tense these past few days. Let's take this girl and leave as soon as possible tomorrow."
"Hmm, have you found a buyer?"
"Don't worry, everything's been found..."
Shi Yang's eyes were fixed on the tiny crack in the warehouse door, where light was filtering in.
The two kidnappers opened the door a little to let in some fresh air because it was hot.
That glimmer of light was deeply imprinted in my eyes.
A strong urge to escape welled up from the bottom of my heart.
