Chapter 22 Colliding with Ji Peiheng's Back

Chapter 22 Colliding with Ji Peiheng's Back

Shi Yang quickly distanced herself from Ji Peiheng and politely thanked him, "Thank you, President Ji. It's such a small matter that I have to trouble you for help."

Seeing her pretentious act, Ji Peiheng chuckled and turned to walk away.

The project manager and chief engineer walked up behind him to report on the progress of the work.

Xiao Yan ran over, her eyes scanning Shi Yang repeatedly: "Sis, what's going on?"

Shi Yang pretended not to understand her meaning: "What...what's going on?"

Xiao Yan: "Why would President Ji personally put the hat on you? You two looked so intimate just now."

Shi Yang walked forward, denying it, and said, "You're overthinking it. That hat was a bit difficult to wear. I wore it for a long time, and President Ji only helped me because he thought I was wasting his time."

Xiao Yan muttered in confusion, "Is President Ji really that nice?"

As the chief designer of the resort, Shi Yang needed to stay by Ji Peiheng's side, comparing the design drawings step by step and making modifications.

She stole several glances at him. Ji Peiheng was very focused when he was working. When engineers reported to him, he would nod from time to time and occasionally point out the crux of the problem, hitting the nail on the head. One couldn't help but admire his keen insight and strong professional competence.

No wonder everyone says that men who are focused on their work are the most handsome. He exudes a unique charm.

Lost in thought, she didn't notice that the man in front of her had stopped.

They crashed into it so suddenly and unexpectedly.

Everyone stared at her with wide eyes, their expressions subtle.

Shi Yang felt a stinging sensation in her nose, and a warm feeling flowed out of her nasal cavity.

She stared blankly at the bloodstains on her fingertips, and her first instinct was to look up.

Immediately, someone grabbed her chin, and a clear, cold voice rang out: "Don't look up."

Ji Peiheng pinched her nose with one hand and held her head with the other to prevent her from moving around.

"Breathe through your mouth."

My nose is too sensitive; two teardrops are still clinging to my eyelashes. My eyelashes tremble slightly, and the teardrops are about to fall.

She looked so pitiful.

The stalemate lasted for ten minutes, with everyone remaining motionless for those ten minutes.

The nosebleed has finally stopped.

Someone handed him a tissue: "Mr. Ji, please wipe your hands."

Ignoring the bloodstains on his own hands, Ji Peiheng first used a tissue to wipe Shi Yang's blood-stained face and nose.

After cleaning her up, I folded the paper and used the other side to wipe the blood off my hands.

The project manager, with a sharp eye, noticed the bloodstains on the man's pristine white shirt: "Mr. Ji, would you like to change your clothes?"

Ji Peiheng said nonchalantly, "No need."

Even a fool could see now that President Ji treated this designer differently.

But Shi Yang, in a self-deceiving manner, apologized and thanked them, acting as if he were saying, "You are such a considerate boss to your subordinates."

Shi Yang continued to follow behind him, but dared not let her mind wander any longer. Looking at the man's tall, broad-shouldered, narrow-waisted back, she couldn't help but mutter, "How can he be so hard?"

Ji Peiheng, who was in front of her, suddenly turned around and looked at her, a playful smile on his lips. He said in a voice that was only for the two of them, "There are even harder ones. Do you want to try them?"

After a moment of stunned silence, a blush appeared behind Shi Yang's ears, and she glared at him.

Continuing forward, Shi Yang used his tablet to make some minor adjustments based on the situation.

The midday sun was particularly glaring, shining directly down and making the screen very dim. She held the tablet against her chest, shielding her eyes from the sun with one hand while struggling to edit the drawing with a pen in the other. Her eyes were getting sore from looking at it.

Suddenly, a dark shadow loomed down, blocking the blinding sunlight, and the screen immediately brightened.

She looked up and saw that Ji Peiheng was standing in front of her talking to someone.

She suddenly found a way to block the sunlight.

Is this tall figure still of some use?

Behind him, Shi Yang followed closely, using his height advantage to block the light for herself.

The man caught a glimpse of her pleased expression out of the corner of his eye, a smile playing on his lips, and slowed his pace.

During the break, Xiao Yan stopped Shi Yang like she was interrogating a criminal: "Sister, tell me honestly, what is your relationship with President Ji? Don't try to fool me anymore. Anyone with eyes can see that President Ji treats you differently."

Shi Yang used the explanation she had prepared beforehand: "That's because I'm very capable, which is why President Ji treats me differently."

Xiao Yan: "I don't think so, President Ji clearly..."

Shi Yang interrupted her: "Don't forget that President Ji is already married."

Xiao Yan swallowed her words. Yes, President Ji is already married.

Her sister would never seduce a married man; it seems she's really overthinking things.

Finally, she whispered in Shi Yang's ear, "Manager Su has been watching you all day. She looked really grim. I'm afraid she'll make things difficult for you when we get back."

Shi Yang didn't want to waste her energy on this kind of person, and snorted, "She's already made things difficult for me quite a bit."

The resort is very large, and it was already quite late by the time we finished our inspection.

On the way back, Shi Yang leaned back in his chair, his head against the window, and fell asleep without realizing it.

When she woke up, the scent of cedar lingered around her nose.

Before me was a corner of a dark suit.

After a moment of drowsiness, she looked up.

The man, his hunched back and protruding from his temples, feigned sleep. The slanting rays of the setting sun shone in, casting a golden glow on his eyebrows and eyes, blurring their contours. Looking at him for too long made one slightly dizzy.

How could she fall asleep on his chest?

His warm chest was much better than the hard car window. She nestled against his chest like a little animal and fell asleep in the most comfortable position.

It was already dark when we got back to the city.

Everyone was starving.

Ji Peiheng is treating everyone to dinner; he has already booked a restaurant in advance.

He went out to answer a phone call, and when he came back, everyone was already seated.

His gaze swept over, and Shi Yang looked away, trying to make conversation with Xiao Yan beside him.

Su Yuan stood up and pulled out the chair next to her: "President Ji, there is a seat next to me."

Ji Peiheng acted as if he didn't see her and walked straight inside.

Shi Yang heard the chair next to her being pulled out, and Ji Peiheng had already sat down.

Su Yuan was so angry her nose was crooked.

Yang was terrified during the meal, but thankfully Ji Peiheng didn't do anything unusual.

After dinner, everyone was exhausted and ready to go back to rest.

Xiao Yan hailed a taxi at the restaurant entrance and casually asked, "Sis, how are you getting home?"

In Shi Yang's view, Liao Nan respectfully opened the car door, and Ji Peiheng got in without looking to the side before the car door was closed.

The car disappeared from her sight without a second thought.

She looked away and said, "I'll call a car too."
