Chapter 10 A Gift That Everyone Was Envious Of

One end of the cruise ship's top deck is a spacious platform with a transparent crystal ceiling, offering panoramic views. Sitting here, you can endlessly appreciate the mystery and vastness of the sea.

As dusk approached, the glow of the setting sun spilled into the clouds and fell into the sea, creating a warm and inviting scene.

A long table was placed in the center of the platform. Mr. Fu, despite his illness, hosted a family banquet to welcome his beloved daughter home.

When Gan Tang went up, He Zhong, Fu Shaojie, Lin Shuang, and Fu Chengdu were already seated.

“Eldest niece, come, sit here.”

He Zhong saw Gan Tang and warmly made way for her. He was originally sitting in the first seat to the right of the main seat, with Fu Shaojie behind him and Lin Shuang and Fu Cheng sitting opposite him.

According to the rules, Fu Shaojie should have sat behind He Zhong, but after He Zhong moved aside, Fu Shaojie did not move. He Zhong did not say anything and silently sat down behind Fu Shaojie.

At this moment, Fu Shaojie's eyes were only on Gan Tang. He touched Gan Tang's arm with his phone, and Gan Tang looked down, her mind going blank. On the screen was a photo of herself and her parents, with a sentence written on it: If you dare to say anything out of line, I'll kill them.

"What's wrong with you?" Lin Shuang kept a close eye on Gan Tang, worried that she might say something inappropriate.

"nothing!"

Gan Tang thought of the saying, "Sometimes, it's not a bad thing to have weaknesses and vulnerabilities in other people's hands," and forced herself to remain calm as she looked away.

The owner who said those words slowly walked in front of the automatic sliding gate.

Seeing his weak appearance, Fu Cheng frowned and said, "I told you to rest, what are you doing here?"

"Big Brother!" Mo Huaixing called out respectfully, standing ramrod straight behind Fu Cheng.

Only then did Gan Tang notice that Fu Shaojie and He Zhong each had a henchman standing behind them. Fu Cheng hadn't let anyone else take Mo Huaixing's place, which showed how much he truly doted on him.

Why did Ke Mo Huaixing come injured? Was he afraid someone would take his place? Is the competition for male concubines this fierce these days?

The automatic sliding gate opened again, and Ali led the way as Dr. Mu pushed Mr. Fu in. Everyone stood up, and Gan Tang hurriedly followed suit.

The hall was eerily quiet, the sound of the wheelchair turning passing through the crowd.

Dr. Mu Zi pushed the wheelchair to the main seat, adjusted it to the most comfortable position, and then quietly walked to Fu Cheng's side.

Lu Zhengqian looked at the crowd like an emperor. Suddenly, he said coldly, "No manners!"

Fu Shaojie's attention had been focused on Gan Tang, and he hadn't realized he was sitting in the wrong seat. Now, seeing his father looking at him, he suddenly realized it.

He immediately retreated behind his seat and slapped himself hard, the sound deafening.

It's just a seat, is it really that big of a deal? In just one minute, Gan Tang felt an unprecedented sense of oppression. Every moment here was redefining her understanding of the world.

He Zhong smiled and tried to smooth things over, "Brother, there's no need to be too harsh on the children at our own family banquet."

"You are his elder!"

Upon hearing the word "elder," Gan Tang recoiled in fright. Lu Zhengqian beckoned to her, his eyes full of affection: "Tang'er, sit down."

Seeing that everyone was standing, Gan Tang didn't dare to sit down.

Mr. Fu said, "Please sit down!"

Only then did everyone dare to sit down.

Gan Tang also sat down, twisted her body, and reached out her hand to Lu Zhengqian.

Lu Zhengqian stroked Gan Tang's palm again and again, "Tang'er, how have you been all these years?"

"Okay!" This made Gan Tang's scalp tingle. She quickly added, "My adoptive parents treated me very well!"

"That's good, that's good!" Lu Zhengqian greeted Ali.

Ali placed a box in front of Gan Tang. It was a pink gift box, about the size of a six-inch cake box.

"Open it and take a look!"

Under Lu Zhengqian's concerned gaze, Gan Tang opened the box. Inside was a pistol, a silver pistol.

Although the gang possessed a large number of firearms, they couldn't be issued indiscriminately. Only Ali, He Zhong, Fu Shaojie, and Fu Cheng were permitted to carry firearms. Furthermore, apart from Ali, the other three were also prohibited from carrying guns when meeting Mr. Fu.

Now, besides Ali, who has a gun to protect Mr. Fu, only Gantang has one.

Fu Shaojie was envious, but he held back for a long time without daring to say anything.

Gan Tang's first reaction was to kill someone, and she instinctively withdrew her hand. Lu Zhengqian picked up the pistol and placed it in Gan Tang's hand, tears welling up in his eyes.

"Take this to protect yourself. If your father had had a gun, he wouldn't have died such a tragic death."

Didn't Jian Suhuai die in childbirth?

Gan Tang didn't dare ask and obediently put away her gun.

He Zhong's expression wasn't too good either, but he quickly concealed it, smiling and saying, "Niece, why don't you address me as such?"

Gan Tang hesitated for a moment, then said, "Thank you... Dad."

"Ah!" Mr. Fu was quite pleased.

He Zhong brought up the matter at the right moment: "Brother, you can't be separated from your family again after you go back, but what about her adoptive parents?"

The words weren't finished, but everyone understood the meaning. Keeping Gan Tang's adoptive parents around would make it difficult to arrange her new identity. It would also be hard for Gan Tang to avoid contact with them, potentially creating complications. More seriously, if they had already reported it to the police, a thorough investigation could easily expose the business dealings behind the Lu Group.

"Dad, they've been so good to me. If it weren't for them, I would definitely be dead by now, and I would never have seen you again." Gan Tang grabbed Lu Zhengqian's arm with both hands in fear, afraid that he would suddenly give orders and decide her parents' life or death.

His daughter's tearful appearance touched the softest spot in Lu Zhengqian's heart. The girl he had once loved was just as kind. Lu Zhengqian felt a pang of pity and said, "Let's eat first, we'll talk about this later!"

He Zhong suggested, "Brother, why don't we send them abroad and let their family immigrate? We can then send someone to keep an eye on them and make sure they don't return to China."

"Okay, Dad, that's a good idea!" Driven by fear, Gan Tang agreed to the suggestion without hesitation. Only after saying that did she realize that He Zhong might be trying to control her using her parents.

what to do?

Gan Tang looked at Mo Huaixing standing behind Fu Cheng and suddenly understood what he meant by those words.

Just as Lu Zhengqian was about to agree to He Zhong's suggestion and instruct him to do it, Gan Tang stopped him, saying, "Dad, let my younger brother do it. She knows my affairs best and will definitely be able to handle it well!"

"Me?" Fu Shaojie was completely bewildered when he was suddenly called out.

"Yes!" Gan Tang smiled and said, "I also have to thank my brother. If it weren't for him, I'm afraid I would never have seen my father in my entire life."

This reminded Lu Zhengqian that since Fu Shaojie had found Gan Tang, he was certainly the most familiar with the situation. So he nodded in agreement.

Having received the task, Fu Shaojie dared not slack off in the slightest: "Dad, I'll go back to China to make the arrangements in a bit!"

"In a little while?" He's at sea now, how is he going to get back? Gan Tang couldn't understand.

Fu Shaojie said, "Yes, there are private jets on the cruise ship."

That won't do. There aren't any old photos of Lu Zhengqian at home, and she might not even be Lu Zhengqian's daughter. What if Fu Shaojie finds out?

Gan Tang subconsciously looked at Mo Huaixing, who was standing behind Fu Cheng.
