Chapter 124 Facing It Alone

When Gan Tang woke up, she was in her familiar bed. Startled, she quickly checked her phone. Mo Huaixing's message was at the top, displaying four words: "Don't worry, everything's fine."

She knew he was telling her that Tian Tian was alright and there was nothing to worry about. She used to enjoy that unspoken understanding, but now, she felt a pang of unease.

The familiar smell of ointment wafted from the blanket. She remembered it; it was the smell of medicine on Mo Huaixing's wound, which startled her so much that she hurriedly threw off the blanket.

She was wearing pajamas, and had even taken off her bra.

"Xiao He, come here for a moment." Gan Tang called for someone. Xiao He was responsible for tidying up her room and clothes, so she should know that.

"Miss, what do you need me for?" Xiao He pushed open the door and came in; she was a young woman in her early twenties.

Gan Tang asked, "Who changed my clothes?"

"I'll change it for you."

Gan Tang let out a long sigh and asked, "Then why does my blanket smell like medicine?"

"Oh! Your driver carried you into the house." Xiao He didn't know who Mo Huaixing was, and only thought he was the young lady's driver.

Aren't the Green Dragon Gang members supposed to not let people in freely?

Gan Tang was angry: "Who let him in?"

"Young Miss, you wouldn't let go of him, so Butler Ding had no choice but to let him in. Once he's out, I'll go in and help you change your clothes." The words themselves weren't particularly offensive, but the person seemed to be secretly laughing.

Gan Tang sensed something was wrong: "What are you laughing at?"

“Miss, you were really wild when you were drunk. You even made him cry from your kiss. When he left, his face was covered in lipstick.” Xiao He said with a sigh, “But he was really good to you. On the stairs, he accidentally fell, but he protected you and made sure you didn’t get hurt at all. He seemed to have fallen quite hard; he was bleeding.”

Xiao He pointed to the blanket covering her, "The blanket is covered in it. I wanted to change it for you, but you wouldn't let go."

Only then did Gan Tang realize that she was covered by the blanket backwards. She hurriedly lifted it and saw a large patch of blood, a shocking sight.

How could he fall down while going up the stairs? Could it be that I touched his wound?

Gan Tang recalled that last night, she had intended to help Tian Tian to hail a taxi, then she saw a familiar face, and then she fell asleep. After that, she couldn't remember anything.

Gan Tang was irritated: "I've been paying him so much salary, and it's all for nothing?"

"Oh!" Xiao He didn't know why the young lady was suddenly so angry, so she quickly shut up.

Gan Tang then asked, "Did I say anything nonsensical?"

"Then I don't know." She wasn't even in her room.

How embarrassing! Gan Tang quickly told everyone to leave. But after they left, she couldn't help but think about what she had said.

Being good to yourself?

Gan Tang slammed her phone onto the bed. "Mo Huaixing, it's such a waste of your talent that you're not an actor. You're even putting on an act in front of a little girl."

But she still leaned over and sent Fu Cheng a message asking him to check on Mo Huaixing before getting up and going into the bathroom to take a shower.

Oh dear, I was so heartbroken yesterday that I forgot to ask Tian Tian how her work and life were going. Who knows when we'll see each other again after this separation?

After washing up, Gan Tang sat on the edge of the bed and dried her hair.

The phone screen lit up; it was a message from Chu Jiahe: See you tonight.

Gan Tang hurriedly sent a message: Isn't it supposed to be back tomorrow?

I haven't heard back in a long time.

Gan Tang then realized that he must be on the plane at this time, and the message was sent by him on time. Even when notifying her, he thoughtfully considered that it wouldn't disturb her rest.

But alas, I lost such a good man with my own hands.

Do you regret it, Gantang?

Time passed little by little.

Gan Tang's head was throbbing more and more. She had thought that someone would face this with her, and that she wouldn't be afraid; but now, she had to face it alone, and she felt indebted.

Looking at herself in the mirror, with her sallow complexion and dark circles, Gan Tang applied one face mask after another, trying her best to look more energetic.

Thinking back, Chu Jiahe once told me to stop wearing makeup.

Gan Tang didn't wear any makeup on her face, only simply drew her eyebrows, and drove to the airport. On the way, she made a phone call.

"Hello, I'd like to book a room. Yes, could you please help me decorate it?"

In the VIP lounge at the airport, she met Mr. Chen, who was also there to pick her up.

"Miss, what brings you here?" He had changed how he addressed her since the family reunion banquet.

Gan Tang was a little embarrassed, but she tried her best to maintain a smile: "Master Chen, you should go back first. I want to tell him in person."

Some things must be resolved, and some promises must be kept.

Thinking of this, Gan Tang felt at ease and began to anticipate the man who would appear at the end of the VIP passage. And he really did appear.

He wore a casual suit with a light pink shirt underneath, which made him look even more gentle. Previously, his clothes were mostly dark-colored, but since the two started dating, his clothes have become increasingly bright and vibrant.

"Why are you here?" Chu Jiahe's eyes lit up with joy at the sight of his beloved girl.

"If you don't want to see me, then I'm leaving!"

Gan Tang pretended to turn around, but Chu Jiahe hooked her arm and pulled her into his embrace, greedily inhaling her scent: "Xin Tang, you have no idea how much I've missed you these past few days."

Gan Tang looked up from his warm embrace and asked, "Are you hungry? I'll take you to eat, okay?"

"I'll do whatever you say."

"Let's go then!"

Gan Tang brought Chu Jiahe to the Pearl Building, but not to the rooftop restaurant, but to the five-star hotel downstairs.

The moment I opened the door, the room was filled with the fragrance of flowers. Roses, now without thorns and pistils, adorned the entire room. I reached out and saw rose petals everywhere, creating a warm and romantic atmosphere.

Such an environment makes one wonder.

Gan Tang took a heart-shaped cake from the food cart, held it in her hands, and blew out the only candle on it.

"Jiahe, do you want this gift from me, right now?"

The tiny candlelight flickered on her fair cheeks, casting dappled shadows that stirred the heart.

Chu Jiahe was surprised to receive such high-level treatment as soon as he got off the plane. He smiled and asked, "Of course I want it, but have you forgotten something?"

"What is it?" Gan Tang blinked.

"Silly girl, I haven't proposed to you yet." Chu Jiahe took out a small red box from her bosom, knelt on one knee, and opened it.

It also emitted a dazzling light from within.

It's a diamond ring, their wedding ring, the wedding ring they haven't had time to choose yet.

One of them stood there, holding a promise to him in his hands, while the other knelt on one knee, holding his love for her in his hands.

"Ms. Lu Xintang, will you marry me?"

Although the question seemed a bit redundant for a couple about to get married, he didn't want to miss any of the necessary steps. Originally, he planned to wait until tomorrow, find a nice place, and propose to her. Unexpectedly, the girl in front of him was even more eager than he was.

Chu Jiahe smiled as she took off the ring.

"Jiahe." Gantang hurriedly knelt down, grabbed Chu Jiahe's hand as she was taking off the ring, and mumbled, "Let's wait until our wedding to wear it!"
