Chapter 129: Concern or Guilt?

"Don't think about it anymore." She didn't want to lie to him anymore.

Gan Tang looked at the departing figure on the highway and said directly, "I don't like you at all. The person I really like is Mo Huaixing."

This reason made Chu Jiahe's breath catch in his throat. He knew Mo Huaixing liked her, and he knew she treated him well. But he had never thought about it in detail.

Because he loves her, he trusts her.

Chu Jiahe shook her head: "Then why did you marry me?"

"Why, don't you know? Hmm~, the only heir of the Chu Group, the eldest young master of the Chu family."

She emphasized the last three words especially.

Gan Tang's face was full of sarcasm, and her words became increasingly harsh: "Do you think I'm sad about what happened? No, I'm even a little happy. Because of this, I don't have to listen to my father and marry you anymore; because of this, I have the opportunity to be with Mo Huaixing openly and honestly."

Every word struck Chu Jiahe's heart.

I don't believe it.

To test his disbelief, Chu Jiahe held Gan Tang tightly in his arms, silencing her and forcing her to swallow back every word she uttered. But that wasn't enough; his burning hands slipped through her clothes, covering her soft chest, humbly teasing her.

A sharp pain shot through my chest, accompanied by a strange, natural reaction, mocking the truth in her words.

Look at you, didn't you say you liked him? Why are you reacting to me?

Gan Tang couldn't help but blurt out, embarrassed, "If you want, let's go to the car."

A light suddenly appeared in his probing eyes, but it only lasted for a moment.

"But please, don't let him know. He was very angry yesterday when he found out I went to see you."

Those lewd words shattered all his previous understanding of her. Chu Jiahe truly couldn't understand: "If you like him, why did you do that kind of thing with me?"

"Because... I want to have your child."

Her eyes, once full of tenderness, turned into vicious scheming, and Gan Tang let out a sneer.

“Even if it weren’t for you, it would have been someone else. Dad would never allow me to marry a bodyguard. But it’s different if I get pregnant with your child. The bloodline of the Chu Group carries so much weight. How could he bear to let me abort it? This way, I can marry Mo Huaixing.”

As she spoke, Gan Tang's hand moved to his collar, unbuttoning it one button at a time. The sea breeze blew open his shirt, revealing her muscular chest.

Gantang turned her head to kiss him, gently pecking and teasing him.

Sensing the anger in his eyes, she became bolder, her slender hand reaching for her belt.

"It's exciting here, which is great!"

Her words were soft and gentle, very considerate. As she spoke, she began to untie it.

Chu Jiahe grabbed the flailing hand, roughly shook it off, and angrily said, "Get out."

This was probably the first time in his life he had ever sworn, and it was towards the girl he loved most. The scars on his face appeared even redder with anger.

When did this man, who was always so humble and polite, start to fight?

I have really harmed many people.

"You never understood me. If you really understood me, you would know how shameful it was to have ever liked me."

Gan Tang dared not look at his injured eyes any longer and hurriedly fled.

The sunlight scorched the asphalt road, and steam billowed into the air. Mo Huaixing walked on it, feeling as if he would melt away and disappear without a trace at any moment.

Gan Tang drove the car up beside him and slowly stopped.

"Get in the car."

Mo Huaixing turned to look at the car that was still parked in the same spot, and stood still: "There are taxis up ahead, I'll take one myself."

Gan Tang said anxiously, "Jia He is watching from behind. Do I really have to beg you?"

Mo Huaixing was puzzled. He hadn't gotten into the car because Chu Jiahe was behind him, but seeing Gan Tang's anxious look, he didn't ask any more questions and got in.

A strong smell of alcohol wafted over.

Gan Tang turned her head to look at him; his face was flushed a spicy red, the color spreading all the way to behind his ears. His elbows were on his hips, and his hand was clutching his stomach. He looked to be in some discomfort.

How much alcohol did he drink?

Gan Tang parked the car, took out the first-aid kit from the trunk, and sat back in the driver's seat. She disdainfully pulled out the hangover medicine and tossed it at Mo Huaixing.

"Take your medicine, I have something to tell you."

After saying that, she put the first-aid kit on the back seat and continued driving.

Seeing that he hadn't taken his medicine, Gan Tang realized he didn't have any water, so she handed him the water glass she had on hand.

That was her water cup, and it even had a straw.

Mo Huaixing did not answer.

Following his withdrawn hand, Gan Tang saw her water bottle and awkwardly put it back. "Sorry, I took the wrong one. There's water in the trunk, I'll get it for you."

As he spoke, he was about to pull over and park.

"No need, I'm not drunk." Mo Huaixing gripped the medicine box tightly and explained, "People like us can't let ourselves get drunk."

"So, you did it on purpose!" Gan Tang was furious.

"Mo Huaixing, what are you trying to do? Tell Lu Zhengqian how much you care about me, how much you can't stand to see me wronged?" Gan Tang warned angrily, "You can act however you want. But please, can you please stop harassing Chu Jiahe!"

Compared to his marriage and children, she hated his acting even more, to the point that she couldn't help but have fantasies about him, which made her feel guilty about wanting to be a mistress.

Although Mo Huaixing could control his brain after drinking, his emotions were inevitably agitated. Looking at that gaze that seemed to regard him as an evildoer, the hardness in his body was numbed by the alcohol, and a hint of grievance flashed in his eyes: "Can't I even care about you?"

"care?"

Gan Tang felt a tightness in her chest: "Are you concerned, or are you feeling guilty?"

As she spoke, she drove the car onto a dead-end road, an unpaved gravel road, with a cliff overlooking the sea ahead. The engine stopped, and Gan Tang gradually calmed down.

"Because of you, I impulsively broke off a wonderful marriage. You feel sorry for me, don't you?"

Gan Tang looked at Mo Huaixing and smiled, "If my absurd confession that day caused you trouble, I apologize. But I beg you, can you please not arrange my life like this? I am a person, not a trophy for you to show off your achievements."

These words were too harsh; they chilled the heart.

"I'm not..."

"What do you mean, 'not'?" Gan Tang coldly interrupted him, asking in return, "You came to Chu Jiahe hoping he could find a way to marry me, didn't you?"

Mo Huaixing was speechless. He did indeed harbor such thoughts, especially after seeing her suffer as she took the medicine.

"What are you afraid of?" Gan Tang said self-deprecatingly. "If you don't like me, I'll just like someone else. It's no big deal. Or do you think I'd use your status to blackmail you into sleeping with me?"

"Do you have to say things so harshly?"

He only wanted to keep her safe, but he didn't expect it to cause her so much dissatisfaction. His hurt eyes were also filled with self-mockery: "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have been so presumptuous. I thought it would be better for you to marry him than to secretly... take the pill like this."
