Chapter 195 Poppies in the Car

If someone is secretly filming, is there a security camera in that room?

What is he planning to do now?

Should he threaten Fu Cheng or inform Lu Zhengqian?

A pair of fair and delicate hands were placed under the faucet, and water flowed down through their fingers.

Someone turned off the tap, and Lin Shuang turned her head, only to see the face she least wanted to see. She hurriedly backed away, spilling water all over Fu Cheng.

"I'm sorry." Lin Shuang came back to her senses, but not completely. She hurriedly pulled out a paper towel from the side and used it to wipe Fu Cheng's clothes.

That fair, slender hand, having been rinsed in cold water for a long time, was frozen red. Fu Cheng subconsciously grasped it and asked, "What are you thinking about?"

His palms were burning hot, which she couldn't bear because of her coldness, and she jumped back instantly.

"I'm here, I'm thinking, thinking..."

"It's just a chat between friends, you don't have to answer." Fu Cheng broke the awkward silence and walked towards the private room.

Lin Shuang followed her inside.

Fu Cheng shouldn't have come to the wrap party for the film crew, but he couldn't help but want to take another look at her, especially when she was working. She was radiant, a stark contrast to her cautious demeanor in the Green Dragon Gang.

He wasn't as selfless as he claimed to Lin Shuang; he simply wanted to see her happy.

Halfway through the meal, Fu Cheng made an excuse to leave, and Lin Shuang chased after him, stopping his car in the parking lot.

"Mr. Cheng, I have an interview early tomorrow morning. Could you give me a ride back to Jinhai?"

"Come on up!" He was genuinely pleased that she wanted something from him.

Lin Shuang got into the car and fastened her seatbelt. "I need to go back to the hotel to get my luggage. It'll be quick and won't take you long. Thank you for your help."

He didn't like her being so polite to him, and he disliked even more her being so cautious around him, but in the end he didn't say anything and started the car.

"Which film crew?" he asked.

Lin Shuang calmed down and lowered her head, saying, "Don't help me anymore. I want to try it fairly this time."

"That's why they plunged into the water in such cold weather."

Lin Shuang was surprised that he knew so much about her work situation and hurriedly said, "No."

"You don't need to feel sorry for anyone. When you conduct a fair interview, how can you know how many people have stolen the fairness that should have been yours? Since it's a play, as long as you do justice to the audience's eyes, you have nothing to be ashamed of."

At this point, Fu Cheng joked, "Of course, we can't let it affect the crew's ability to finish work on time, since we haven't been paid overtime."

"And also, it has to be worth the money you invested." Lin Shuang smiled as well.

That smile was so beautiful that Fu Cheng couldn't help but take another look. Suddenly, his expression changed: "Someone's taking pictures of me?"

Just then, the car turned onto the main road next to the restaurant. Lin Shuang pulled her hat down low, trying to appear calm. "Are they paparazzi? Will it affect you?"

"I'm not a celebrity, but you..."

"I'm fine too," Lin Shuang interrupted him hastily.

"Let's shake them off!" Fu Cheng sped up, and as he turned the corner, the box in front of the passenger seat opened automatically, revealing it to be filled with blooming poppies.

"Why did you put flowers in the box?" Lin Shuang hadn't finished speaking when the car crashed into a flower bed on the stone steps. The two were thrown back into their seats by the airbags, their heads buzzing.

But since it happened while turning, and the speed wasn't high, neither of them was seriously injured. Lin Shuang rubbed her head and looked at Fu Cheng. She saw that Fu Cheng's face was as cold as ice, and he was trembling uncontrollably.

"Young Master Cheng, what's wrong?"

Hearing the sound, Fu Cheng turned his head, his eyes bloodshot, and lunged at Lin Shuang, frantically seeking the warmth before him.

"Fu Cheng, Fu Cheng, please, please don't do this."

Hot tears fell onto the man's lips, bringing him back to some senses. Fu Cheng pushed Lin Shuang away, shaking his head with difficulty, "Go, go quickly!"

Lin Shuang was so frightened that she went to open the door, but it was locked, and the button to open the door was on his side.

Suddenly, Fu Cheng took out a dagger from the storage box on the car door. Lin Shuang was so frightened that she bumped into the car door and saw Fu Cheng slash his arm with the dagger.

The pain immediately brought him to his senses. Fu Cheng hurriedly pushed open the car door and got out. On the gray bricks, there were drips of his blood.

The restaurant and the hotel are only a kilometer apart. We are now downstairs at the hotel. There is a shop next door selling steamed buns, and steam is rising from the steamer.

Fu Cheng lunged forward.

The steamer basket and buns fell to the ground with a whoosh.

The boss cursed and berated Fu Cheng, but he seemed oblivious, his eyes fixed on the large pot, where the water was boiling hot.

Just as Fu Cheng was about to hug her, Lin Shuang, who had caught up, used all her strength to push him away.

"Boss, I'm sorry, this is to make up for it." Lin Shuang hurriedly tossed the watch to the shop owner and dragged Fu Cheng into the hotel. All the way, Fu Cheng still clung tightly to Lin Shuang.

Finally, she dragged Fu Cheng into the room. Fu Cheng crashed onto the bed, falling down with her in his arms.

"Fu Cheng, let go of me, I'm calling a doctor."

She tried to leave his embrace, accidentally scratching his wound. Fu Cheng opened his eyes, frantically pushed Lin Shuang away, and said in a trembling voice, "No doctor."

"Then I'll get you some hot water!"

"No need!" Fu Cheng shook his head: "Get out."

This time, Lin Shuang didn't listen to him. She turned on the air conditioner, set it to the highest temperature of 40 degrees Celsius, and then ran to pour hot water.

Fu Cheng huddled under the covers, but his body grew colder and colder, shivering uncontrollably. Lin Shuang handed him a cup of hot water, hoping he would warm up. Unexpectedly, he drank it straight from the cup.

That was hot water over 90 degrees Celsius! Lin Shuang hurriedly swung the glass away, and it shattered on the ground with a loud clang.

Fu Cheng was completely out of his mind, and his lips were frozen blue-purple, but his right hand was still mechanically pinching the wound on his left hand, and blood was seeping out from under the white blanket.

Nevertheless, he never intended to hurt her.

Standing by the bed, Lin Shuang took off her clothes, crawled into the quilt, hugged Fu Cheng who was frozen solid, and slowly transferred her body heat to him.

Fu Cheng was vaguely exploring the source of warmth, and she willingly cooperated with him, even guiding him, just wanting to make him more comfortable, and more comfortable.

Gradually, their body temperatures merged, and his cold, tense skin gradually became warm and elastic. He lay quietly on the bed and fell asleep.

Feeling the strong pounding of his heart, the girl nestled in his arms looked up to kiss the corner of his lips, then froze. She scrambled out of bed like a thief, and even though she knew he was asleep, she still grabbed her clothes and ran to the bathroom to get dressed.

Under the magnolia tree where we first met, she was reading Yan Shu's poem: "Red petals are sparse along the path, greenery abounds in the fragrant countryside. The trees on the high platform cast deep shadows."

To her surprise, she turned around and saw him. For the first time, she felt that the young man in ancient poems had come to life—a gentleman, gentle and refined. Countless boys had expressed their love for her since childhood, but only that one time did she blush at the admiration in a man's eyes.

She wanted to be the bright moonlight in his eyes.

But fate is cruel. From the moment they met again, all her pride was stripped away bit by bit in front of him, leaving her naked and filthy.
