Chapter 197 Taking medicine all the time is bad for your health

This time, Gan Tang went to Lin Shuang's house. Lin Shuang thought she was there to discuss solutions, but unexpectedly, she came to persuade her.

"I can find a way to get Dad to agree to you being with Fu Cheng, so He Zhong won't be able to blackmail you anymore. What do you think?"

Lin Shuang said sarcastically, "Is Miss so kind that she's willing to personally cripple He Zhong's spies?"

Gan Tang gave an awkward laugh: "Of course, I'm not without demands. Just make sure Fu Cheng stops making things difficult for Mo Huaixing."

Because of Mo Huaixing, she was hesitant to take action against Fu Cheng, but He Zhong was different. Without Fu Cheng checking Mo Huaixing, things became much easier.

"I see." Lin Shuang sneered: "Back then, Miss was just a naive young girl. I never expected her to be so adept at the ways of the game. I know I'm just a pawn in your eyes, but I'm not a pawn you can give to whomever you want."

Gan Tang really didn't know where her inexplicable anger came from when they were talking normally. "How did I treat you like a pawn? Aren't I doing things for you too, even if I didn't do them well..."

At this point, Gan Tang lacked confidence and earnestly advised, "Isn't this a win-win solution? It's better to be with Fu Cheng than with He Zhong, at least he really likes you."

"You like me?" Lin Shuang looked at her with disdain, as if she had heard a joke. "Miss, you're always being fawned over by men, so naturally you don't know what men are really like. Men don't actually like women; they just want to conquer them. Some men use violence, some use money, and some use talent. But Fu Cheng is the most despicable. He uses his self-righteous sincerity to watch women fall for him, just to get the thrill of conquering them."

"Really?" Gan Tang was surprised by her conclusion and asked in return, "Since you see things so clearly, then let's have some fun. What are you afraid of?"

"Yeah!" Lin Shuang shouted uncontrollably, "Anyway, my body is just for men to play with, so what difference does it make if one more or one less!"

"Is that what I meant? Lin Shuang, don't think that everyone looks down on you. Actually, the one who looks down on yourself the most is you."

Gan Tang said aggrievedly, "If you don't want to, then you don't want to. Why are you yelling? Would you dare to yell at He Zhong or Fu Cheng? You only dare to yell at me."

Lin Shuang awkwardly tried to shoo her away, saying, "If Miss has no other choice, please leave."

"Fine, I'm leaving." Gan Tang grabbed her bag and walked away, but couldn't help turning back at the door to retort, "I advise you to think it over carefully, lest you get sold out and end up paying for it yourself."

Filled with anger, Gan Tang arrived at the Zhu Zi Man Cheng Club and, looking aggrieved, threw herself into Mo Huai Xing's arms.

"Mo Huaixing, I've been bullied!"

The whimpering, nasal sounds made Mo Huaixing's heart itch. He cupped the rosy little face in his hands and laughed, "Who would dare to bully you?"

"You're still laughing, you're still laughing." Gan Tang clenched her little fist and punched him in dissatisfaction.

Mo Huaixing's heart itched even more from the punching. No wonder he laughed; she was so energetic and lively, she didn't look like she'd been bullied at all. Mo Huaixing simply lifted the girl who was clinging to him and sat her down in the swivel chair.

"Who is it? How dare they bully you like that?" The tone was sincere, but the manner was fierce.

Gan Tang was very satisfied, but she lay on him with a pitiful expression and shed tears. "She scolded me, scolded me for being scheming, and scolded me for looking down on people."

"That's too much! I'm going to find him!" Mo Huaixing opened a drawer, took out a dagger, which was gleaming and quite frightening.

"What are you doing?" Gan Tang was so frightened that she quickly grabbed his wrist.

"Go find him!"

Mo Huaixing picked up Gan Tang and was about to get up, but Gan Tang angrily pressed him back down and pinched his cheek in dissatisfaction, "Who told you to go? I just wanted you to comfort me."

"Okay, let me comfort you." Mo Huaixing grinned mischievously and pressed his forehead against Gan Tang's. At this moment, he was sitting in a chair, and she was straddling him, making their relationship as ambiguous as could be.

"Mo Huaixing, that's not what I meant."

"That's what I meant." Mo Huaixing kissed Gan Tang and carried her into the room.

"Mo Huaixing, you're bad... um..."

"You're responsible for provoking me."

The room was draped with jet-black curtains, blocking out the wind, rain, stars, and moon that tried to peek in, including the dazzling sunlight.

Gan Tang opened her eyes groggily, her whole body aching and weak. She was too tired to even speak. She leaned against Mo Huaixing and pulled the shoulder bag back from the bedside table.

Mo Huaixing opened his eyes and saw the little girl in his arms swallow a birth control pill without even drinking any water.

"How about I take it?"

"No!" Gan Tang shook her head stubbornly. She didn't want there to be a barrier between them when they were closest; she wanted to be intimately close to him, to get infinitely close to his soul.

Mo Huaixing touched Gan Tang's earlobe with heartache, "Taking medicine all the time is not good for your health."

"I don't come to see you every day, I know what I'm doing."

"Really?" Mo Huaixing snapped out of his daze and grinned mischievously. "You said you didn't mean it that way, but you even brought the medicine."

Gan Tang pinched his waist shyly, warning him fiercely, "Mo Huaixing, do you remember what you said? In this place, the more you know, the faster you die."

Mo Huaixing grasped the fidgeting little hand and asked, "Do you remember everything I said?"

"Yes, I remember." If she hadn't remembered what he said, how could she have survived until now?

Mo Huaixing embraced Gan Tang and promised, "Gan Tang, I won't make you take the medicine for long. I want you to have my child."

Gan Tang nodded shyly, nestled against his chest, and asked, "Mo Huaixing, why do you always call me by my full name?" It wasn't gentle at all.

Mo Huaixing said in a deep voice, "Gan Tang, do you know what the most important thing is for us in this place?"

"Mission accomplished? Alive?"

"It's not about completing a mission, nor is it about living, but about always remembering your own name." His voice came from his chest, reaching her ears and her heart, bringing her a sense of inexplicable peace.

Gan Tang gently tapped his chest and solemnly replied, "I understand."

Mo Huaixing asked with a smile, "After we leave here, I'll call you Tang Bao, okay?"

"You're the one who's all sweetness and light," Gan Tang said, tickling him in annoyance. Mo Huaixing scooped her up and pulled her onto his body. Poor Gan Tang wasn't dressed yet, and was completely exposed to his view.

Someone's eyes visibly widened, and their breathing became rapid.

"Mo Huaixing, you pervert."

Seeing that the hand was about to reach up, Gan Tang rolled over, wrapped herself in the blanket, and rolled to the wall, hurriedly asking, "What time is it? I have an appointment!"

Mo Huaixing picked up his phone dejectedly and looked at it: "8:30."

"I have to go now, Mrs. Chu asked me to go shopping at ten o'clock!" Gan Tang said, starting to get dressed, still hiding under the covers.

Mo Huaixing asked sarcastically, "Is Chu Jiahe here?"
