Chapter 235 The Blood That Flows Is Clean

On a calm day, a cruise ship slowly sailed away from the sea. Numerous police cars drove onto the water, forcing the ship to stop. One by one, members of the Green Dragon Gang were escorted off the ship, but Lu Zhengqian was nowhere to be seen.

Meanwhile, in the dense forests of towering mountains, Gan Tang was being dragged forward. To evade capture, they had spent countless days and nights traversing the mountains and valleys.

Ahead lay a dense, primeval forest, teeming with venomous creatures and wild beasts. Beyond the forest lay the border, where they would be safe. The once massive group of several hundred had dwindled to just a few dozen.

But Lu Zhengqian remained calm and composed, as if everything was under his control. Fu Cheng arranged the surrounding security and walked towards Lu Zhengqian.

"Godfather, you rest for a while. I'll go get some ammunition and anti-gas drugs."

Lu Zhengqian nodded, "Go quickly and come back quickly."

Fu Cheng left with Zhang Po and Jin Hu. That day, in a remote town, he met the woman he had been longing for.

"Acheng!" Lin Shuang, dressed in a colorful dress with an exotic flair, rushed into the arms of the astonished man.

"Who sent you?" He had never felt so terrified in all these days.

"Please don't leave me again." Lin Shuang clung tightly to his clothes, refusing to let go. Never before had she been so clear about her feelings. Losing the man before her was more terrifying than death.

Fu Cheng looked at her swollen belly and finally sighed. They were almost at the border; why not take a gamble?

Since the time the two knelt at Qinglong Bay, Lin Shuang had never seen Lu Zhengqian again. Back outside the dense forest, seeing Lu Zhengqian staring at her, Lin Shuang fearfully hid behind Fu Cheng.

"She's a kind and loyal girl." Lu Zhengqian sighed and got up to pack his gear.

"The police are here!" Ali put down his binoculars and looked anxiously at Lu Zhengqian.

"Hurry up!" Lu Zhengqian ordered. The group rushed into the dense forest.

Lin Shuang couldn't walk fast, so Fu Cheng carried her forward. Seeing the police getting closer, Lin Shuang cried out, "Cheng, did I attract this? I'm so sorry, so sorry!"

"It shouldn't be!" Gan Tang asked, "Sister Lin Shuang, how did you find your way here?"

Lin Shuang glanced at Fu Cheng and said awkwardly, "I remember He Zhong mentioned this road."

“Since you know, he should know too.” Before Gan Tang could finish speaking, Lu Zhengqian pulled her back to his side.

The border here is perched on a cliff face, and we're almost there. From the cliff face comes a burst of gunfire.

Just one step away, countless people fell on the road leading to the border. Those who dodged the bullets scrambled to hide behind trees.

Lu Zhengqian looked up at the cliff, a hint of fear finally appearing in his calm eyes. "It seems someone doesn't want me to go over there."

With opponents blocking his way in front and pursuers behind, he was at his wit's end.

Fu Cheng put Lin Shuang down, looked around, and whispered to Lu Zhengqian, "Godfather, I'll bring men to cover you. Head east."

This is the only way.

“Acheng!” Lu Zhengqian’s voice trembled.

Fu Cheng shook his head, indicating that he didn't need to say anything more. The reason why the remaining members of the Green Dragon Gang were still willing to follow Mr. Fu was because he had painted a beautiful picture of a future beyond the border. But now they were facing a life-or-death situation. If there was no hope of survival, no one would be willing to risk their lives for Mr. Fu anymore. However, if they were to flee eastward with him, the police would inevitably catch up.

Therefore, Lu Zhengqian had no choice but to escape secretly.

Lu Zhengqian's eyes were filled with anger as he looked at Gan Tang, and his hand holding the gun trembled slightly.

"Dad, I'm pregnant."

Gan Tang took his gun-wielding hand and pressed it against her head, laughing, "Dad is a man of deep feelings. He knows that the most painful thing for a person isn't death. If you hate him and want revenge, then kill us, mother and son. Let him live a lifetime of endless regret, like a walking corpse. That would be more satisfying than killing him, wouldn't it?"

He had seen that look in his wife's eyes before. Lu Zhengqian asked in a trembling voice, "Why did you come back?"

"I wanted him to know that the blood flowing in his veins is clean." Gan Tang said with a desolate self-mockery, "But now it seems that I have lost."

Lu Zhengqian's hand holding the gun trembled uncontrollably, but he finally put it down. "Acheng, let her go."

"Alright." Fu Cheng looked at everyone and reassured them loudly, "Roughly speaking, there are fewer than ten enemies on the cliff, and their ammunition is limited. We have a good chance of storming up there. In a moment, I will have someone hold the hostages to buy time. Let's all work together and storm up there."

After some encouragement, he grabbed Gan Tang and asked, "Who's willing to hold hostages to buy time?"

This was a near-certain death mission, and no one wanted to go. At that moment, Yuan Biao, hiding in the crowd, tremblingly raised his hand, "I'll go!"

“Take her with you.” Fu Cheng said this without even daring to look her in the eye.

Lin Shuang shook her head firmly, "Acheng, I won't leave, I'd rather die than leave."

Fu Cheng suddenly pushed her away.

Gan Tang helped the staggering Lin Shuang up and urged, "Sister Lin Shuang, come with me!"

Staying here meant certain death, but Lin Shuang stubbornly refused to leave, even pulling out a dagger and holding it to her own neck.

Yuan Biao had no choice but to take Gan Tang back alone.

When they arrived, there were many of them, and wild beasts dared not approach. But when they returned, there were only the two of them. The sound of footsteps quickly attracted a leopard. Yuan Biao fired. But his gun was empty. It was just that Fu Cheng had tricked him into coming to deliver him.

"Young Miss, run!" Yuan Biao saw the leopard about to pounce and hurriedly pushed Gan Tang aside to fight it.

Gan Tang stood there stunned, never expecting that Yuan Biao's offer to escort her was to save her. Lu Zhengqian secretly slipped the pistol he had given her on the cruise ship back into her pocket.

Gan Tang hurriedly raised his gun to shoot the leopard. The pistol only had a few bullets left, and the leopard was exceptionally agile with thick hide. Not a single shot hit a vital spot.

The leopard lunged fiercely at Gantang.

Covered in blood, Yuan Biao clung tightly to the leopard, shouting through his aching voice, "Young Miss, run! Run!"
