The hotel room was very small, without even a sofa, just a double bed. Lu Zhengqian sat on the edge of the bed, looking down at his phone.
"Dad, what brings you here?"
Gan Tang stepped forward, and Lu Zhengqian raised his hand and slapped her.
The slap was very powerful. Gan Tang fell to the ground, her entire head hitting the wardrobe with a buzzing sound, and tears immediately welled up in her eyes.
"dad……"
Before he could finish speaking, Lu Zhengqian threw his phone at Gan Tang and angrily said, "Hasn't your father been good to you? You betrayed your father for some other man."
Gan Tang looked down at his phone, which was playing footage of him stealing the combination lock box, but it was using infrared imaging. To avoid being discovered, he hadn't even installed a camera.
This passive waiting game was far more serious than realizing there was a problem.
Gan Tang broke out in a cold sweat. "Dad, I didn't steal anything. I didn't steal anything from you."
"How else do you want to steal?" Lu Zhengqian remained unmoved. Such betrayal was unforgivable, even to the point of contemplating it.
Facing his precious daughter, Lu Zhengqian was heartbroken: "Haven't I been good to you? Why are you treating me like this?"
"Dad, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry!" Gan Tang cried, tears streaming down her face. "I know you're good to me, and I want to listen to you and get married properly. But I really don't want to marry a drug addict."
"What did you say?" Lu Zhengqian pieced together the clues from his daughter's intermittent sobs and sneered, "Cao Yunbo lied to you, that Chu Jiahe is a drug addict?"
He could only ascertain their actions, not their motives. And Lü Jiao didn't mention any of this.
“It wasn’t him,” Gan Tang hurriedly shook her head. “I saw Chu Jiahe using drugs in the bathroom with my own eyes.”
Lu Zhengqian laughed angrily, "Who dares to tempt Chu Jiahe into taking drugs!"
Even so, he still pulled out the confirmed diagnosis of Chu Jiahe's asthma from his phone and tossed it to Gan Tang.
The screen displayed illegible English, which Gan Tang already struggled with, making it even harder for her to understand.
What is this?
Perhaps only the young lady would dare to question Mr. Fu in such a dangerous situation. Her innocent expression is so endearing that it's hard not to laugh.
Who needs Mr. Fu to explain before they can get angry?
"He developed asthma while studying abroad."
Gan Tang was stunned. From the moment Cao Yunbo asked her for the password, she was certain that he was hiding something from her. Was someone else deceiving him, or did he already know all along and join in the deception?
Seeing his daughter's pained expression, Lu Zhengqian's anger subsided, but what followed was a bitter and self-deprecating feeling.
"So distrustful of her father? Just because her father deals drugs, she can so inhumanely push her own daughter into the fire."
"Dad, I know I was wrong. I shouldn't have doubted your love for me!" Gan Tang crawled two steps and reached out to hug him.
Looking at his crying daughter, Lu Zhengqian wanted to let bygones be bygones, but the thought that she actually wanted to hand over the evidence to the police and kill him made his heart ache, and he angrily pushed Gan Tang away.
Gan Tang knelt on the ground, crying helplessly, "Dad, I know I was wrong, I know I was wrong."
Once a heart is cracked, how can it ever be repaired?

As she spoke, she turned on the TV, which showed live surveillance footage of Cao Yunbo and Lü Jiao making love. The shameful scene made Gan Tang lower her head in embarrassment.
“Didn’t you say he likes you? Look!” Lu Zhengqian deliberately turned the volume up to the maximum.
Gan Tang dared not close her eyes any longer, and her eyes throbbed with pain.
After the two finished their fun, as seen on the surveillance footage, Lü Jiao nestled against his chest and asked sweetly, "Honey, do you like me or Gan Tang more?"
"Of course it's you!"
"I don't believe it!" Lü Jiao pouted, "You were so hesitant to steal the plan back then."
With a soft "pop," Cao Yunbo kissed her. "I just wanted you to spend more time with me! That boring, withered woman, Gan Tang, doesn't even have a chest. How could I like her?"
Lü Jiao didn't believe it: "Then why did you date her for so long?"
"She's cheap! She's always eager to pay for our meals and movies, and she doesn't ask for gifts. A woman who's practically handed to you is free, why not take her? Unlike you, you little vixen, if I don't buy you a gift for three days, you'll bite me."
“You said it yourself, I’m not that cheap stuff like her.” Lü Jiao got to the point with Cao Yunbo, “Has the money arrived from the person who promised you fifty million?”
"The safe is empty." Cao Yunbo looked somewhat embarrassed and said angrily, "Who knew that silly girl would turn into a pampered young lady and even learn to play tricks on me? She's worried about losing her things and hurting..."
"Husband!" Lü Jiao hurriedly interrupted Cao Yunbo, offering comforting words, "Don't be sad. As long as we have Miss Lu, how could we not have money to spend?"
Cao Yunbo immediately perked up and sat up abruptly. "You have a good idea?"

"Yeah! Who told me to be so stupid and cheap?" Gan Tang laughed self-deprecatingly. Her eyes were red and swollen as she looked at Lu Zhengqian: "Dad, where is he?"
Lu Zhengqian was quite pleased with the murderous intent in his daughter's eyes, and said calmly, "Downstairs, 705."
Gan Tang stormed out of the room.
Ali hurriedly instructed two bodyguards to follow Gan Tang, then turned and went inside.
