Chapter 81 Is he an idiot?

When Gan Tang woke up, she was in a dilapidated tile-roofed house. There was not only Madam Chu in the room, but also more than a dozen women huddled in a corner, their limbs bound.

Are they really acting this realistically? Why hire so many extras?

Madam Chu lay beside Gan Tang, still unconscious.

A woman's sharp, sarcastic voice came from outside, "Is the car ready?"

"Ready!"

"..."

The noise outside continued. Gan Tang's limbs were bound, making it difficult for her to move. She struggled to sit up and gently touched the still unconscious Madam Chu with her bound hands.

Madam Chu slowly awoke, then cried out in alarm, "What kind of hellish place is this?"

"Auntie, please don't shout!"

Before Gan Tang could finish speaking, a middle-aged fat man with a shifty face and a disheveled middle-aged woman pushed open the door and entered.

The middle-aged fat man began counting heads: "One, two, three... seventeen, eighteen, why are there two extra people?"

The disheveled woman said, "I didn't expect to have to load it onto the truck. I found two good goods at the village entrance, and Erzhu and Sanzhu drugged them and carried them back."

The middle-aged fat man walked towards Gan Tang and Madam Chu, squatted down, and examined the newly arrived "goods".

"That one's alright, but this one's probably forty, can she still have children?"

Madam Chu is fifty-five years old this year, but she is extremely youthful-looking. Hearing this compliment, Madam Chu, who was initially filled with fear and worry, felt a slight surge of joy amidst her anxiety.

"It should be possible!" The disheveled woman was also a little hesitant: "If we can't have children, we can sell them cheaper. We can't refuse the money delivered to our doorstep. Selling them to an old widower in the mountains, eight or nine thousand shouldn't be a problem."

What, eight or nine thousand?

Madam Chu felt deeply insulted and was about to erupt in anger when a filthy, fat hand reached out and touched her. She felt as if she had fallen into a cesspool, and screamed in agony.

"Ah... don't touch me."

With a "slap!", the middle-aged fat man slapped Madam Chu across the face.

"You...you...you dare to hit me?" Having never been hit in her entire life, not even a mosquito had dared to bite her. Tears welled in Madam Chu's eyes, filled with grievance.

The middle-aged, overweight man clapped his hands, stood up, and asked his wife, "Is he an idiot?"

"She's an idiot!" Gan Tang interrupted. "My aunt is mentally unstable and worthless. Let her go!"

"Lu Xintang, what nonsense are you spouting!"

Her face stung with pain. Madam Chu roared, "You wicked people! This is illegal! You'd better release us, or I'll make sure you spend your lives in jail! Release us now..."

The middle-aged fat man, annoyed by the noise, grabbed a wooden chair from the side and threw it at Madam Chu. Seeing this, Gan Tang quickly rushed to Madam Chu's side.

With a loud crash, the heavy chair slammed against his back and shattered into pieces. Gan Tang was in so much pain that he broke out in a cold sweat, feeling as if his spine was broken.

Is it really necessary to go to such extremes in acting?

Gan Tang looked up groggily and said to the middle-aged fat man, "How much do you think we are worth? I'll give you double that if you let us all go!"

"Yes, yes, yes!" Madam Chu's trembling voice immediately subsided as she saw blood flowing from Lu Xintang's back.

"Shut the hell up, all of you!"

Seeing his prized goods damaged, the middle-aged fat man felt a pang of regret. He turned to his wife and said, "Give them something to eat and load them onto the truck."

A disheveled woman carrying a basket of grayish-brown steamed buns limped in, threw the buns in front of the bound woman, and said fiercely, "Eat up!"

Madam Chu disgustedly shook the steamed bun off her lap. The two women had just been captured and weren't hungry at all, but the other women had been starving for a long time and were wolfing down their buns.

One of the people sitting closer to Madam Chu saw her throw away the steamed bun, so he quickly pounced on it, grabbed it, and started eating it right there on the ground.

These people really don't look like they're acting. Gan Tang was a little confused, and reluctantly put the steamed bun into her trench coat pocket.

Before long, three large trucks rumbled to a stop on the road. The truck doors opened, and a foul stench of chicken manure and urine wafted out. Madam Chu nearly vomited from nausea.

"I won't get on, I won't get on..." Madam Chu whispered aggrievedly as she tried to back away. But she was still helped onto the cart by two strong young men and put into an iron cage.

The packing was completed quickly, and the three large trucks rumbled onto the road.

Inside one carriage were six large iron cages, each containing a woman. The rest of the space was piled with chicken coops, filled with lively chickens clucking and flapping their wings.

The stench in the carriage was suffocating. Soon after, Madam Chu collapsed in the iron cage. Gan Tang, witnessing this, panicked completely. She tried to call for help, but her mouth was gagged, and she too soon passed out.

The smell inside the chicken coop carriage was awful.

As night fell, the setting sun, half-hidden behind the mountains, illuminated the rugged, winding mountain road, making it appear even more barren. An electric tricycle stopped on the steep mountain road, unable to move forward.

Six women were lying haphazardly on the tricycle.

A middle-aged, overweight man sat on a motorcycle smoking, while a disheveled woman held a thin leather whip and lashed it repeatedly at the woman on the motorcycle.

Everyone on the tricycle woke up in pain. Madam Chu huddled behind Gan Tang in fear.

The slovenly woman yelled, "A bunch of pigs, get down here and walk!"

The road ahead was too rugged for the tricycle to pass. Just as another whip was about to fall, Gan Tang quickly stepped in front of Madam Chu and helped her out of the tricycle.

The middle-aged man parked his electric tricycle at the village store and followed slowly behind on a motorcycle.

The road ahead was too difficult to walk, and Madam Chu was wearing high heels, so her legs were trembling with exhaustion. "Xintang, I really can't walk anymore!"
