The sky gradually turned white, and the sound of birds singing could be heard outside the bamboo building.
The room is filled with an intoxicating fragrance.
Chu Chenan woke up from the chaos and felt sore and weak all over, especially the back of his neck.
He dreamed of Lan Huai again, and the amulet was completely useless.
He sat up, rubbed the back of his neck, and clicked to view the system control panel.
The task bar of copy 4 in the control panel is still gray, which means that its additional tasks are still unknown.
"Chen An, are you awake?" He Xuesheng knocked on the door.
"Awake." Chu Chenan got up and opened the door.
As soon as the door opened.
He Xuesheng had a small braid and a sleepy look in her eyes. "Do you have any toothpaste? I forgot to bring it. Can you lend it to me?"
...
...
"Okay, I'll get it for you." Chu Chenan turned around and took out a new tube of toothpaste and gave it to him.
He has five tubes of toothpaste in his suitcase, with different fruit flavors. System 001 is quite thoughtful in this regard.
He Xuesheng took the toothpaste and thanked them, a little worried, "You said Lao Liang and the others haven't come back yet, and I sent them a message but they didn't reply. Could something have happened?"
Chu Chenan looked at the densely forested Wulan Mountain and said, "Maybe there is no signal on the mountain?"
"That's right," He Xuesheng scratched his face, squinted his eyes and thought, "Wulan Mountain is so high, and there are so many trees, there shouldn't be any problem."
Chu Chenan nodded and looked towards the top of Wulan Mountain. Wulan Mountain was towering into the clouds, surrounded by dark clouds and mist, mysterious and magnificent.
"Okay, I'll go back first," He Xuesheng said, holding the toothpaste and a towel on his shoulders, "I'll call you for breakfast later."
"good."
When he turned around, Chu Chenan caught a glimpse of the bright red and swollen wound on his neck. The wound had turned purple and looked to be getting more serious.
He was stunned for a few seconds before turning back to brush his teeth.
…
They went to the first floor to have breakfast. They were the only guests in the B&B, so the dining area was deserted.
The store manager brought them two bowls of noodles with a lot of mutton on them, two plates of yellow rice cakes, two bowls of porridge and some snacks.
It looks very rich.
"These snacks are prepared for customers free of charge. If you need anything, just tell me." The store manager was wearing an old yellow ethnic costume, and he forced a smile on his old face.
The store manager became warm and generous overnight. Chu Chenan and He Xuesheng were a little uncomfortable with this and thanked him together.
"Oh, you're so polite. Our village hasn't had any new customers in several years. It's an honor for us to have you here." The manager kept looking down at Chu Chenan and smiling at him earnestly.
Chu Chenan felt his scalp tingling when he looked at him and he gave a dry laugh.
In fact, there were thousands of people in the village, and everyone looked at them with indifference and a bit of hostility.
The store manager exchanged a few pleasantries with them before saying, "Okay, enjoy your meal first. I'll be busy now."
They both nodded.
Chu Chenan took a bite of noodles and stole a glance at He Xuesheng's neck. He finished chewing the noodles in his mouth and asked, "Does the wound on your neck still hurt?"
"Yeah, much better." He Xuesheng took a big mouthful of noodles and said hastily, "It just looks really ugly, but I don't really feel anything. When I looked in the mirror this morning, I thought someone had bitten me."
Chu Chenan heard the sound and looked carefully, and it really looked like a tooth mark. The wound turned dark purple, and the deeper parts turned black.
Could there really be something in the village that sucks human blood?
Chu Chenan lowered his head and ate a few noodles, feeling a little worried.
Just as he was deep in thought, a figure in purple appeared in his peripheral vision on the left.
Chu Chenan tilted his head, it was Lan Xu.
"Good morning, Lan Xu." He Xuesheng had already finished his noodles in two or three bites. "Have you eaten?"
"Yeah." Lan Xu smiled faintly, his emerald green pupils bright and deep.
Chu Chenan lowered his head. He saw that He Xuesheng had finished eating. Afraid that he and Lan Xu would be left behind, he hurriedly learned to eat the noodles with big mouthfuls like He Xuesheng.
His cheeks swelled up from eating, his lips were covered with a moist sheen, and he chewed hard.
Lan Xu pushed the porridge in front of him and looked at him with a smile.
Chu Chenan raised his eyes and glanced at him, his earlobes visibly turning red.
He Xuesheng took a snack and ate it. "Lan Xu, do you know of any place here that is suitable for sketching and safe?"
"Well, there's a good hilltop, close to the stream. Standing there you can see the whole village." Lan Xu didn't even turn his head, staring at Chu Chenan and said, "I'm not busy today, I can take you there."
He Xuesheng was very excited and nudged Chu Chenan with his elbow.
Chu Chenan was also quite hesitant. He struggled for a while and thought that if he stayed here he would easily dream of Lan Huai. It would be better for him to follow them out. At least He Xuesheng was there.
He nodded as well.
Chu Chenan couldn't eat any more after eating half a bowl of noodles. He lowered his head to wipe his mouth, then raised his eyes and found Lan Xu was still looking at him.
Those eyes were full of charming smile.
He quickly looked away.
Lan Xu then calmed down and asked Chu Chenan, "Did you sleep well last night?"
"Yeah." Chu Chenan nodded.
Not good at all.
He dreamed that Lan Huai took off his clothes.
"That's good." Lan Xu smiled.
…
Chu Chenan and He Xuesheng went upstairs to get their painting equipment, and left the B&B with Lan Xu.
The store manager followed them, bowing and nodding, and greeted them all the way out.
They walked up the road. The buildings in the village were all bamboo houses. They were unique and majestic in style and did not look like an ordinary village.
Although it is simple and mysterious, it has complete supplies such as water and electricity and does not look poor at all.
Suddenly, the sound of bells and flutes came from another road, accompanied by bursts of hoarse and mournful sounds.
Chu Chenan turned around and saw that the person leading the group was a witch. Her old face was covered with various patterns and she wore a strange animal head felt on her head. She was muttering difficult spells and was standing in the front, jumping and knocking on the pointed sheath in her hand.
Dozens of people followed behind her, holding basins of scarlet liquid in their hands, chanting loudly along with the witch, their faces as cold and numb as puppets.
Suddenly, when the witch turned around, she saw Lan Xu not far away.
She quickly restrained her momentum and knelt down in front of them, her head bowing, her eyes full of admiration and respect.
Dozens of people behind him also knelt down and kept mumbling.
Chu Chenan was stunned for a moment, and he keenly smelled a smell of blood coming from that place.
He Xuesheng was also frightened by this scene.
Lan Xu looked over there and explained calmly, "This is our ceremony for welcoming new guests. Just get used to it."
Chu Chenan didn't quite believe it.
He looked around at those people. Most of them were wearing white and yellow clothes. Only Lan Xu was wearing purple, the same as Lan Huai.
He remembered Lan Huai saying that purple symbolized the highest power here.
"Okay, let's go first." Lan Xu said to the dazed Chu Chenan.
He only saw Chu Chenan looking up at someone not far away, his red lips were shiny and attractive, and the sunlight was like a touch of light gold shining on his white neck, making his skin look even whiter, tenderer and smoother.
Lan Xu's eyes darkened and his Adam's apple rolled.
…
They came to the mountain road.
As soon as He Xuesheng arrived in the wilderness, he was like a wild horse that had broken free from its reins, and he ran to the front.
Chu Chenan walked carefully, carrying an easel on his back, and became more and more tired as he walked. He was breathing slightly, there was some sweat on his forehead, and his cheeks were slightly flushed.
He felt his back suddenly become lighter, so he paused and turned to look behind him.
Lan Xu took off the easel on his back and lifted it easily with one hand. "Let me help you."
Seeing Lan Xu's insistence, Chu Chenan could only whisper, "Thank you."
Lan Xu smiled, his smile was bright and charming, "You're welcome, just watch your way."
Chu Chenan's earlobes became redder and redder. He nodded, turned around and continued walking.
They arrived very quickly.
He Xuesheng was the first to place the easel on the lush grass, then opened his backpack and took out the drawing board and paints.
Suddenly, He Xuesheng shouted.
Chu Chenan was frightened and trembled, "What's wrong?"
"I forgot to bring my paintbrush," He Xuesheng slapped his forehead with one hand and threw his bag to the ground, "I'll go back and get it!"
"I brought a few with me, use mine." Chu Chenan said.
"No, I only use that one," He Xuesheng waved his hand, "I'll be back soon, you guys start drawing first."
Chu Chenan saw He Xuesheng finish running and said hurriedly, "I'll go with you."
"No need, I know the way!" He Xuesheng turned around and shouted, then ran away.
Chu Chenan could only resign himself to his fate and put down the easel.
Lan Xu had no intention of leaving. He sat down on a smooth rock nearby.
"Aren't you going back?" Chu Chenan glanced at him timidly.
Lan Xu shook his head, "I'm not busy, I want to come and see you paint, do you mind?"
Lan Xu's voice is soft, making people feel not alienated.
Chu Chenan could only shake his head, "I don't mind."
He began to adjust the colors under Lan Xu's gaze.
Several faint rays of light leaked out from the forest, forming several parallel lines, shining around Chu Chenan, as if holy light was surrounding him.
The light crept from his white wrists to his handsome neck, and then to his delicate face.
Every move he makes is beautiful.
Lan Xu was fascinated by the scene and he gently picked up a strange petal.
He gradually put away his disguised brightness, and his eyes were filled with a fierce desire for his prey like a wild beast.
Chu Chenan was painting so seriously that he didn't even notice a leaf fell on his collar.
Lan Xu asked, "Is this your first time here?"
"Yes," Chu Chenan paused and added, "It's my first time here."
"Oh," Lan Xu nodded as if he understood, smiling seductively, "Then how did you know my brother's name is Lan Huai? I don't think I mentioned it."
Chu Chenan's heart skipped a beat before he reacted.
He said in a trembling voice, "I...heard it from the villagers."
Lan Xu teased him, "Oh? What did they say?"
Chu Chenan made up a story honestly, "It says that you have a brother named Lan Huai, who is a very powerful witch doctor."
Lan Xu's smile faded, he pressed his tongue against the roof of his mouth, and whispered, "Is my brother the only one who is awesome?"
Chu Chenan didn't hear clearly, "Huh?"
"Nothing." Lan Xu walked towards him and stood behind him. "I said your paintings are beautiful."
Lan Xu bent over to look at his painting, almost sticking to his back, with his hot breath pouring on the side of his face.
Chu Chenan's cheeks were slightly hot from nervousness.
Suddenly, he accidentally got his hands covered in paint.
He hurriedly got up and fled from here, "I'm going to wash my hands."
He trotted to the stream, squatted down and washed slowly for a minute or two.
Lan Xu glanced at him and curved his lips to admire his painting.
Chu Chenan turned back and accidentally stepped on something. The thing arched up and bit his ankle.
Chu Chenan groaned in pain and looked down to see a small white snake crawling away from his feet.
He thought he was doomed and sat on the ground.
He's not going to die, is he?
"What's wrong?" Lan Xu hurried towards him.
Lan Xu squatted down and caught a glimpse of the small snake not far away. A dark light flashed across his eyes, and he quickly chopped it into two pieces with his silver scimitar.
Chu Chenan covered his legs, his eyes turned red and two tears rolled down.
Although it wasn't painful, it was his first time being bitten by a snake.
I just thought I was really going to die.
Lan Xu felt so distressed that he rolled up Chu Chenan's trouser leg and went to look at his wound.
There were two scarlet spots bitten on his porcelain-white ankle, and a little blood was lying there.
"Is that a poisonous snake?" Chu Chenan looked at him in panic, his peach blossom eyes trembling pitifully, and asked, "Will I die?"
"Don't be afraid," Lan Xu lifted up Chu Chenan's little feet with his hands.
His eyes wandered over the white and smooth calves.
The anxiety in his eyes gradually changed its meaning.
It was a small, non-venomous snake, and most of the foreigners used it as food.
But Lan Xu had no intention of telling him.
"Yes, it's a poisonous snake." Lan Xu's fingertips stroked Chu Chenan's skin and whispered, "But, I'll be fine if I suck out the poison, okay?"
Chu Chenan's eyes were full of fear, and Lan Xu's voice bewitched him.
He hesitated for a moment and said, "Well... okay then."
Lan Xu got permission.
De De kissed his ankle as he wished, licking his blood and wounds.
Perhaps because he coveted it too much, Lan Xu felt that his blood was sweet.
Chu Chenan frowned slightly, feeling both ashamed and afraid of death.
It seemed as if half a century had passed.
Lan Xu still held his ankle tightly, and there was a darkness in his eyes that Chu Chenan had never seen before.
"Is it okay?" Chu Chenan couldn't help but say.
"Yeah." Lan Xu was still unsatisfied, so he let go of Chu Chenan.
"But you can't walk after being bitten by a snake." Lan Xu straightened his trouser legs and coaxed him, "I'll carry you to get some medicine."
Chu Chenan also firmly believed in the superstition that if one took five steps after being bitten by a snake, he would die.
He nodded and thanked Lan Xu quietly.
…
Lan Xu brought him to a valley.
The space here is vast, with many mahogany cabinet doors and wooden shelves, on which exotic fruits and herbs are planted.
The fragrance was particularly strong.
"This is where I collect herbs." Lan Xu explained, gently applying the herbs to him.
Chu Chenan felt his ankle was cold and it didn't hurt much anymore.
He lay on the stone bed, smelling the strong fragrance, and closed his eyes unconsciously.
He fell asleep.
I dreamed of Lan Huai again.
Lan Huai pried open his teeth and kissed him until he couldn't breathe.
Lan Huai seemed to be questioning him, "An An, why are you hiding from me?"
His voice was chillingly cold.
Chu Chenan squinted his hazy eyes, and his lips were blocked so he couldn't make a sound.
At the same time, he felt someone kissing his earlobe.
