Chapter 7 Watching a Movie Together

Chapter 7 Watching a Movie Together

After their tickets were checked, they went inside, and their seats were in the middle of the sixth row.

It's a great location.

Anmi walked ahead, carrying her bucket of popcorn.

Yan Jinnian followed her and sat down next to her.

Perhaps because it was a weekday, there weren't many people watching the movie.

Besides the two of them, there were only three other couples sitting in the back corner.

After the cinema commercials ended, the movie began.

Yan Jinnian glanced at An Mi's hands moving in and out of the popcorn bucket, and cleared his throat: "What kind of movies do you usually like to watch?"

"..."

No one responded.

Anmi stared intently at the screen, looking completely focused.

This is a film set against the backdrop of the War of Resistance against Japan, and it is categorized as: romance, action, and comedy.

On the promotional poster, the male and female leads gaze at each other affectionately.

He specifically checked the reviews before coming.

Most people are saying things like "It's so sweet," "A must-watch for couples this year," "It makes me believe in love again," "The interactions between the two in the early episodes were so sweet," and "I want to find a boyfriend as tall and handsome as the male lead."

So he decisively chose this one.

But the reality is...

"I wish I could travel into the screen and fight the enemy alongside them!"

Anmi clenched her fists tightly.

"Why do those damn foreigners have the right to bully us Chinese!"

"Patriotism has reached its peak at this moment!"

"I want to join the War of Resistance!"

"Waaaaah, I'm so proud to be born in China!"

Yan Jinnian glanced down at the word "love" printed on the ticket stub.

The black text turned redder the more you looked at it.

"Mr. Yan, and you?"

After the movie ended, Anmi sniffled and asked him.

"If you were born in a time of war, would you also pick up a gun and charge into battle?"

"..."

"Hmm." Yan Jinnian nodded silently.

The two didn't exchange a single word throughout the movie.

When I came out of the movie theater, it was just dinnertime.

Yan Jinnian glanced at his watch and said, "Let's have dinner together. What would you like to eat?"

Anmi is now focused solely on resisting the Japanese invasion.

"I'm fine with anything..."

"Okay." He opened his phone, selected a Western restaurant he frequented, and prepared to make a reservation.

"Apart from Western food."

Anmi said indignantly, "I hate foreigners!"

"..." Yan Jinnian silently exited the mini-program and went to another omakase.

I've been to this place before; the Japanese food is quite exquisite, and the atmosphere is great.

The boss said that young girls really like to go there to check in.

You can book a table directly on WeChat.

Yan Jinnian found his boss's WeChat. Before he could even finish typing "Hello," he heard An Mi continue angrily.

"And then there's the little life!"

Down with imperialism!

"..."

Finally, they went to eat hot pot.

The lobby was packed with people, with the sounds of drinking and chatting rising and falling.

An Mi sat opposite Yan Jinnian, putting vegetables into the pot while discussing the plot they had just watched.

Throughout the meal, Yan Jinnian only uttered three words:

Yes, that's right, okay.

After dinner, he drove Anmi home.

The residential buildings are located in an alley, and cars cannot enter.

The man parked his car on the side of the road nearby, held the steering wheel with one hand, and spoke in a muffled tone.

"Ms. An, do you feel that our familiarity has increased through the two activities we just had?"

Anmi's eyes were still red, and she raised her hand to rub them.

( )

"It has improved."

“But I don’t think it’s enough,” the man said in a low voice.

"not enough?"

Anmi: ?

Yan Jinnian said seriously, "If you want to increase your familiarity with each other, you need to communicate. But we didn't say a word to each other during the movie, and we ate separately during the meal."

Anmi recalled that he had clearly been discussing the plot with her quite well during the meal, so why was he now saying that they were eating separately?

"So what do you mean?"

Yan Jinnian: "No, that doesn't count."

"Doesn't count?" Anmi didn't understand.

"Let's do it all over again tomorrow."

"ah?"

"I'll pick you up tomorrow, are you free?"

Anmi hasn't had any interviews in the past two days, but she still wants to submit more resumes.

The man seemed to read her mind and added, "Tomorrow night."

The evening was fine.

She nodded: "Okay."

"Um."

Anmi reached out and unbuckled her seatbelt: "Then I'll head back now."

She turned to open the car door, but the man behind her suddenly said, "Wait."

It was very dark at eight o'clock, and the car was not lit; only the dashboard emitted light.

Anmi turned around and saw that his jawline was coated with a fluorescent blue light. She asked, "Is there anything else?"

The man took off his suit jacket while eating hot pot, and now he's only wearing a black shirt.

The shirt collar was open, and the sleeves were rolled up, revealing a section of forearm with prominent veins.

The car was filled with a cool, pine-scented fragrance, which masked the smell of hot pot on the two of them.

Yan Jinnian looked at her and said, "If we haven't improved our familiarity with each other today, we can try a different approach."

How about another approach?

Anmi looked at him with a puzzled expression.

Yan Jinnian said, "In fact, appropriate physical contact can better bring two people closer together."

"for example?"

The man answered seriously: "Kiss."
