Chapter 12 "Won't there be a thief?"
Yan Jinnian followed her and sat down.
People were coming and going at the store entrance, and the staff outside handed them a menu.
Anmi had been here a few times before and knew the place well, so she handed him the menu.
"Take a look."
Yan Jinnian took it and looked at it very carefully.
But it wasn't that he was looking at it seriously; rather, handsome men always give off a feeling of deep affection and seriousness, no matter what they're looking at.
Anmi kept an eye on the pickup number in the mini-program.
She occasionally glanced to the side.
Yan Jinnian sat there quietly, holding the menu, exuding an air of refined elegance.
Today he styled his hair in a side parting, his black hair sharply covering some of his eyebrows. He had pale skin, long and narrow eyes, and an indifferent gaze.
After the tenth person passing by the barbecue restaurant stared at him with amazement, An Mi coughed lightly and asked, "Do you usually come to places like this?"
Yan Jinnian looked away from the menu and honestly shook his head.
"..." An Mi felt a strange sense of loss, a feeling of being a 'defeated husband', welling up inside her.
[My lady, my family is poor, and this is all I have to offer you. I hope you won't find it offensive.]
[My lord, what are you saying? As the saying goes, "A woman follows her husband wherever he goes, whether he's a chicken or a dog..."]
She glanced furtively at the man and said, "Actually, a lot of people come to this shop, and the meat is very fresh..."
"I love so much."
“?”
Yan Jinnian put away the menu in his hand: "I like all the places you recommended."
He said solemnly, "Although I've never been here before, I'm really looking forward to the barbecue you mentioned, so don't worry about 'I'll hate this place,' and don't doubt yourself."
Anmi wondered if it was just her imagination, but she felt that the look in his eyes softened a little when he said those words.
"oh."
She avoided his gaze and lowered her head.
"Huh? The milk tea is ready!"
My phone just showed that the food was ready to be picked up.
Anmi jumped up from the stool: "I'll go get it!"
“Let’s go together.” Yan Jinnian put his hands in his pockets and stood up with her.
"No need, you can wait here," Anmi said.
There are only five tables ahead of them; it'll be almost their turn.
Yan Jinnian did not respond.
Anmi looked up after receiving the order number.
The man looked at her quietly, a faint resentment emanating from his dark eyes.
It was as if she wasn't telling him to wait there, but rather that she was going to abandon him.
“Okay.” Anmi understood what he meant.
"Then let's go together."

Grandma loves to brew tea on the second floor of the mall.
They took the elevator down, but it stopped when they reached the third floor.
The moment the door opened, a large group of people rushed in.
There were only her and Yan Jinnian in the elevator, but suddenly so many people got on, and the space immediately became cramped.
She took a few steps back, and her back immediately bumped into a hard and warm wall of flesh.
That's a really hard spot; I know who it is without even thinking.
Anmi moved forward a little embarrassedly.
But the wall of flesh seemed to have a mind of its own and chased after it.
It was pressed tightly against my back.
She turned around and looked back in surprise.
Yan Jinnian was very tall, and his gaze was calmly fixed on the tops of the people in the elevator. An Mi could only see his jawline.
He's so big, he must have accidentally bumped into her, since the corner of the elevator is only so big.
Anmi thought she must be overthinking things.
The elevator doors closed, and we quickly arrived at the second floor.
Just as Anmi was about to say "excuse me," a man's voice came from behind her first.
Excuse me, could you please move aside?
A large hand landed on her shoulder, and Yan Jinnian wrapped his arm around her from behind, leading her towards the elevator.
It was very easy to get out.
Anmi's face flushed slightly, and she whispered a thank you.
Yan Jinnian casually put his hands in his pockets.
"You're welcome."
The milk tea shop is right across from the elevator.
"Hello, T8019."
Anmi reported the order number.
"Takeaway or drink here?"
"Pack."
The shop assistant quickly packed up the two drinks.
Anmi stuffed her phone into her bag, ready to reach for it.
"Ouch!" The delivery guy next to me, who was also waiting for his order, suddenly exclaimed.
Anmi looked down and a large hand caught her phone, which she almost dropped.
"I didn't even realize what was happening. Luckily your boyfriend caught you quickly. Miss, you should probably get a new bag!" The delivery guy left with his bill, giving Yan Jinnian a suggestive look before he left.
"Thank you..." Anmi awkwardly took the phone.
She was so embarrassed that she didn't even hear the three words the young man said.
A dark glint flashed in Yan Jinnian's eyes.
"Your bag..."
Anmi turned the bottom of the handbag over, revealing a long, gaping opening.
I forgot to take out the resume I put inside yesterday, and now a corner of it is sticking out of that opening.
Luckily, Tang Cai borrowed all the things from her bag this morning, otherwise they would definitely be scattered everywhere.
Anmi touched the edge of the tear with her hand: "It looks like it was cut with a knife. Are there any pickpockets in the mall?"
The edges are very irregular, so the other party must have cut it more than once.
How terrifying! She hadn't noticed anything at all while walking all that way.
Have thieves become this skilled with their techniques?!
Yan Jinnian took the bag from the shop assistant and handed it to her: "Here you go."
Anmi was stunned for a moment, then took it from his hand.
"Wait here for me, I'll be right back."
"Why?"
After saying that, the man turned and left without looking back.
Anmi was somewhat at a loss.
Could it be that he found her appearance too embarrassing and simply ran away?!
After waiting anxiously for a while, Yan Jinnian returned.
Anmi looked at the bag that had suddenly appeared in his hand: "Did you buy this for me?"
Yan Jinnian's expression remained noncommittal: "That's certainly not my style."
Anmi was somewhat shocked: "No, I can't accept this."
She bought her bag on Taobao for just over a hundred yuan. The one he was holding, although similar in style, would definitely cost much more in a department store.
"Thank you, but I'll just buy a new one myself. You can return this one," she politely declined.
Yan Jinnian withdrew his hand from the bag.
"Really?" He looked at the bag in his hand. "I thought I got a great deal. The bag shop on the first floor was having a clearance sale, and this was only 39.9 yuan. Since you don't like it, I'll take it back and return it."
"Wait!" Anmi blinked.
"How many?"
Yan Jinnian repeated: "39.9 yuan."
"Take it down!"
