Chapter 29 Yan's Phone Call
"Why rent an old truck?" Yan Wanqiu pricked up her ears.
Tang Cai got angry at the mention of this and angrily told her the whole story of why she had been blocked on WeChat.
Wanqiu was furious after hearing this, and the two of them joined forces to give another round of insults to Yan Jinnian's entire family.
Although Yan Wanqiu sneezed twice during the incident, she attributed it to the air conditioning being set too low.
While she was cursing, Anmi's phone rang.
She went to the bathroom in the suite to answer the phone.
"Hello?"
The woman opposite me was a very gentle lady.
"Excuse me, are you Miss Anmi?"
Anmi glanced at the number on the screen and didn't think it was a scam call.
"I am."
The other party's tone brightened: "Hello Ms. An, I'm from the HR department of Yan's Group. I saw your resume on the recruitment website and think you fit our company's hiring criteria perfectly. Would you like to ask if you have time to come to the company for an interview tomorrow?"
"The Yan family?"
Anmi was a little stunned at first, until the person on the other end of the phone started to introduce the basic information of the Yan family, and she suddenly realized that this 'Yan family' was the Yan family of Wanqiu.
No way!
Anmi was somewhat shocked.
The minimum educational requirement for employees of the Yan Group is a 985 university. How could they possibly choose her, a graduate from a second-tier university?
...Could it be that Wanqiu is helping her?
Since she had an interview tomorrow, Anmi decided to accept the offer first and then ask Wanqiu about it later.
They added each other on WeChat, and the other party arranged to meet her at the Yan Group headquarters at 9:00 AM the next day for an interview.
After I finished the call and came out, the two of them were still studying their phones.
Anmi vaguely heard strange noises again and couldn't help but call out, "Sidop! Sidop!"
She showed the WeChat contact she had just added to Yan Wanqiu's contacts.
Do you know this person?
Wanqiu glanced at her and said, "Monica! Isn't this my older brother's secretary?"
"Your older brother's secretary-general?"
"Yes, she's incredibly capable!" Wanqiu said with envy.
"My fifth brother told me that my eldest brother is an eccentric person whose demands on work are so demanding that they are almost abnormal. Very few employees at Yan's can withstand his tests, and Monica is one of them."
Tang Cai: "Huh? Your older brother is such a pervert?"
Late Autumn: "It's not that it's abnormal! It's just that if someone is very capable, it's very difficult for ordinary people to keep up with their pace. The demands they make may seem basic to them, but to us ordinary people, they seem very difficult."
That's a plausible explanation.
After Yan Wanqiu finished speaking, she looked at An Mi with a puzzled expression and asked, "How do you have Monica's WeChat?"
Anmi told the two of them about the phone call she had just received.
"Huh?" Tang Cai reacted with a huge shock.
"Wow, An Xiaomi! You've met your mentor!"
Anmi didn't know anything about talent scouts or anything like that, since the other party had only asked her to come for an interview.
But Wanqiu's expression was rather grim: "Oh no! Is the Yan family about to decline?"
Tang Cai exclaimed, "Ah! You're cursing her in front of Mi Zi?"
"You can't be that mean when you insult someone."
"No!" Yan Wanqiu sat up straight and said seriously, "The day before yesterday, when I was on vacation in the Maldives, my dad suddenly called me and told me to come to work at Yan's Group as soon as I got back from my trip."
"You all know what a good-for-nothing I am. I spent those years abroad chasing after celebrities, and my degree is basically worthless. If they even want me, they must be really short-staffed. That would be a disaster!"
"Oh, what are you thinking about!" Tang Cai interrupted her. "Your dad is just giving you a chance because he can't stand seeing you idle around."
She patted Anmi on the shoulder: "Don't listen to her nonsense, you're the one who shines! Besides, what's wrong with a second-tier university? It's just as good as a second-tier university!"
Anmi nodded, indicating that she felt comforted.
The next day she got up very early and took great care of herself from head to toe.
Tang Cai even lent her her ancestral gold necklace to wear.
Tang Cai: "Show your spirit, your spirit!"
Anmi shouted "Go for it!" at the mirror.
"If it works out, it's like winning the lottery; if it doesn't, it's like a half-day trip."
The Yan family owns the tallest building in the CBD of Lingyang District.
Anmi changed subway lines three times and arrived at the gate on time at 8:50.
She greeted Monica on WeChat, and a little while later, a young woman in a business suit came out to meet her.
"Miss Anmi?"
Anmi nodded and said yes, and the young lady led her inside.
You need to swipe your card in the lobby, you need to swipe it again to enter the elevator, and you need to swipe it again to enter the office area on your floor.
I can't remember how many tracks I cleared along the way.
Anmi thought to herself, "Big companies are really different; they have so many access control systems."
The young woman led Anmi to a meeting room and poured her a glass of water.
"Please have a seat, the interviewer is preparing."
After saying that, she went out.
The conference room was entirely made of glass. Anmi waited for about two minutes before seeing a tall, beautiful figure walk to the door from outside the glass wall.
Knock knock!
A beautiful lady pushed open the door and came in.
"Hello, I'm Monica."
Anmi was a little reserved. She stood up from her seat and shook hands with her: "Hello, I'm Anmi."
"Miss An, please have a seat."
Monica spoke with elegance, and she wore a suit skirt like those worn by female elites in American TV shows, exuding a very classy demeanor.
"The person who called you yesterday was from our company's HR department, and the person who contacted you on WeChat is me."
Monica explained the specifics of the group and her position to Anmi, and then asked her some basic questions.
Anmi answered them one by one.
"Also, does Miss An have any plans to get married in the next two years?"
Anmi was taken aback when she suddenly heard this question.
However, she had heard that some companies engage in "invisible bullying" of women and were worried that female employees would take maternity leave after being formally hired, so she paid more attention to this aspect.
So even big companies can't avoid it...
Anmi shook her head: "There are no plans for that at the moment."
Monica smiled: "Single now?"
This question is actually a bit overstepping its bounds, but Anmi is sometimes quite insensitive.
She nodded and said, "Yes."
Monica then asked, "If a very high-quality man proposed to you right now, would you say yes?"
Anmi blinked, thinking it was a trap question like "there's a pen on the ground".
She replied decisively, "No!"
Monica nodded and extended her hand: "Okay, our interview is over."
"HR will call you back within 1 to 2 days to inform you of the interview results."
Anmi grasped the outstretched hand in return: "Thank you for giving me this opportunity."
Monica raised an eyebrow: "Thank you for giving me this opportunity."
Um?
That sounds a bit strange.
But Anmi didn't think much of it. She just felt that Monica had a high EQ, and every word she said made her feel like she was being flattered.
The afternoon interview was in another district, and since it was still early, Anmi took the subway home.
We ate lunch at a convenience store.
Dongdong is completely cured of her illness and came to work with her colleague today.
Anmi spent quite a while playing with her in the store.
She took a nap before leaving in the afternoon.
When I woke up, my phone screen was lit up next to my pillow.
Anmi immediately noticed the long, thin text message at the bottom half of the screen.
"Dear Ms. Anmi, congratulations on passing our interview! We are honored to inform you that you have been officially hired by our company..."
