Chapter 11: Forced

Suddenly, a burst of giggling sounds was heard.

The branches and leaves swayed, accompanied by a rustling sound.

Du Xiaoying swallowed nervously, slowly squatted down to hide her figure, and prayed silently.

Can't be such bad luck?

Don't be some big guy!

The forest returned to calm. Du Xiaoying had just breathed a sigh of relief when the branches and leaves swayed again, making a rustling sound. A tall figure walked out, holding something in his hand.

"Guoliang?!" Du Xiaoying's legs went weak and she almost fell over. She glared at the man angrily, "You scared me. I thought we'd run into some big guy."

Song Guoliang touched the tip of his nose awkwardly, and hurriedly picked up the colorful, drooping thing in his hand, "Wife, I just caught this guy."

"When Dad is done, I'll make you two shuttlecocks out of pheasant feathers."

Du Xiaoying smiled at the two little girls who were shaking their heads happily, and chopped a pheasant in half, chopped one half into pieces of appropriate size, and spread salt on the other half.

"Guoliang, hang the chicken in the well and we'll eat it slowly."

"good."

Smelling the delicious aroma of meat, Du Xiaoying was glad that her house was far away from the village and it was getting dark, otherwise other families would have come here following the smell.

In a cowshed no more than a hundred meters away, several thin and haggard figures, with their noses twitching, sniffed the aroma of meat wafting in the air.
